Mask Monday

Alrighty, so here’s the first Mask Monday, and I’ve got some good ones for you. These three are all masks I tinkered around with before painting, and I’m pretty excited to share them.

First up we have a Mahiki that I shoved a battery into to create a scope.

Next is a Tiaki that I used some putty to sculpt vines onto. There could have been more detail on it, but I was doing it more as a proof-of-concept for something I want to work on later.

And lastly we have the Toothy Kauoro. I’m really happy about this one, the creepy smile is already part of the mask, just disguised by the middle bit over the mouth. This one can’t connect properly with a head, but it can still be shoved on a socket so its usable.

I wasn’t quite sure what WIPs people would be interested in looking at, so I’ve taken the easy route and just taken a picture of everything laid out in my workspace. Feel free to share your thoughts on what’s there and what I could do for future projects!

@just-shower-thoughts So this is actually the most idiotic, ignorant, and degrading thing you(an ignorant sexist) have ever said?? Do men really treat each other like this on a daily basis?? Do men shout hyper sexualized slurs/“compliments” at other men on a daily basis?? Do men sexually touch other men without their consent just bc they’re “one of the guys” on a daily basis?? Do men have to fear being touched or looked at in a way they don’t like when they see another man on the street??

(Yes I realize these things are problems that should also be addressed, but they aren’t even comparable to the way women are treated. Also sorry, I lost my spot on my feed and couldn’t find the post again but luckily I screenshot what my response was going to be before)

Happy 20th to one of the greatest things to come out of the 90s’

Pokemon ages like a person

It was born in 1996

Everyone loved it and showered it with affection when it was 1-3 years old

It began learning and improving and gaining its identity when it turned 4

When it turned 7, it got less attention, but was improving nontheless

This is the age you could really see just how far along it evolved

It kinda stayed the same from ages 7-13

Like most teenagers, it started seeing things in black and white when it turned 14

And it was obsessed with reproductive chromosomes by the time it turned 17

This is also where it got a new dimension and a new perspective on life

When it was 18, it was finally an adult, and decided to indulge in its childhood one last time

And now it’s 20 years old, and it’s ready to keep evolving, this time as an adult

And it’s shooting for the stars

I’ve got a really great theory about why ekimu has umarak’s mask blended in black and transparent orange and here it is:

In episode 2 of journey to one makuta says that he created umarak and what if the reason why he wants to use the mask of control for himself and makuta seems ok about it is because what if umarak is the mask of ultimate power in physical form and when he puts on the mask of control it causes makuta to take him over and that means when he takes off his normal mask it has nothing living inside of it which means ekimu is safe to hold onto it

RYGUTHAR, THE SAND DEMON a super messy moc that I'll continue to work on, but here he is--the lord of the desert on Okoto! He has been in search of Pohatu ever since he sensed a Toa of stone who could overthrow him. As long as the Sand Demon finds Pohatu before the Toa finds this tyrant, Ryguthar has hopes he'll be able to eliminate the Toa with his blades of silence. These blades have the power to create a void just around their victim, so no one can hear their screams. He wore a variation of the mask of control that was melded to his body, which he snagged after the Ekimu v Makuta incident. Once he put on the mask, lightning struck him, disfiguring it and discoloring it. The creatures took the mask from him with a powerful flame brought about by Ikir, and hid it in the labyrinth, and now Ryguthar lurks in the shadows of three maze, searching for what once brought him so much power. Background- Ryguthar is Umarak's brother. The Sand Demon was born of the sun, Umarak of shadow. Although he was born of light, he soon turned evil, corrupted by the want for power...
