Yep! While Kai becoming the brother he's truly meant to be takes a bit more time, he does realize that he cares about Lloyd and that Lloyd's life matters more than some Thing, which finally allows for him to tap into his real power!

"True" potential doesn't mean "full" though, so the ninja will still learn new ways to use their powers as time passes, the true potential is more how they come to "bond" with their powers which allows them to make that future progress

Kai never would've come to terms with his powers if he hadn't saved Lloyd, because despite his green ninja obsession being replaced with revenge, both conclude with him understanding that he's meant to PROTECT others and doing so is much more fulfilling than hunting people down

This sort of thing is actually why some elementals in the tournament fumble so hard, they can use their powers but never bonded with them, so they stagnated

To really get to the meat of this whole forgiveness thing, I want you guys to ask yourselves, "Would I think this way if this character were a man?" when you try to critique a female character like Harumi

I don't wanna label all Harumi haters as misogynists, there's real reasons to dislike her! I totally understand! But the way she's criticized compared to other characters like fucking RAS is ridiculous and you're not subtle

And to project this hatred, whether valid or not, onto another character who would NOT act that way, is annoying

Lloyd is a really patient and forgiving character, including to people who don't deserve it. Harumi objectively should not be friends with Lloyd because of the way she hurt him, even if she's over her grudge, it would be best for the BOTH of them to shake hands and move on from each other. And Lloyd would totally let her go if she proved she wouldn't hurt anyone else like that, it's not the first time the ninja have let this happen

The NINJA, not just Lloyd, have let villains go under the impression they've learn their lessons, despite what they might have done! Doesn't matter if what they did was less or more than what Harumi did; redemption is not foreign to the story of Ninjago, and it's crazy to draw the line at Harumi

Like nothing she went through excuses what she did, but I feel like y'all also just forget what she went through when ragging on her like this. Read "Garmadon Rulez!" sometime for fucks sake

Garmadon had quite a few chances to take Lloyd's forgiveness, but instead, he let him down each time!

Garmadon is also a massive fear for Lloyd; he's supposed to represent everything Lloyd is afraid of becoming. With Garmadon's constant rejection of him, Lloyd has a good reason to believe all his chances at getting his dad back might be gone.

But the thing is, it's so obvious he doesn't WANT to give up on Garmadon! He seems more frustrated, if anything, ESPECIALLY when Garmadon tries to prove he cares by offering a wilting plant as evidence

The dude fucked off without saying anything and he offers a WILTING PLANT in a SODA CAN to Lloyd as evidence he can care about something, Lloyd doesn't know any better that Garmadon means it, he has no reason to! From Lloyd's perspective, it's not a metaphor, he's not in Garmadon's head to know that, from what he sees, his dad fucking REPLACED him

But even then, when he thought Garmadon might've died in Crystallized, Lloyd LOST IT and for the first time embraced his oni form! He still very much cares for his father, even this corrupted version of him, even when he thinks it might be impossible to redeem him, even when he thinks Garmadon doesn't consider him a son anymore. Lloyd cared enough to fall into a rage he had never had before to get back at the person who hurt His Father

To say Lloyd would NEVER forgive Garmadon, or never tried, is CRAZY

"Lloyd wouldn't have forgiven Harumi." I think y'all are forgetting that he really would, one of Lloyd's biggest Things is trusting and forgiving like, almost everybody, almost to a fault, even if they don't deserve it

He didn't forgive her because he liked her, there IS a difference

He knows FIRSTHAND what redemption feels like for both himself and his own FATHER, and don't y'all ever forget that Lloyd doing this sort of thing almost got him killed more than once

I feel like many people who think Lloyd shouldn't have forgiven Harumi mostly view it from a shipping lens? Not to be jumping to conclusions, but given the way women are treated in this fandom, I just wanna remind you that Lloyd forgiving Harumi has nothing to do with him having a crush on her, he just Does That it's just a habit for him
