Ok but did you have the song custom made, pay the artist $1000, and have your brother rewrite the lyrics AND breakdown??

Just saw a video of some dancers at a studio by me (10 yrs old maybe??) being like âweâve come so far since starting pointe this summer!â And they are attempting to do PIROUETTES completly not on their box, winding up before the turns, falling over just trying to do a pas de bouree before the turn, and somehow their shoes are already dead? đ¤Śââď¸ WHEN WILL THESE STUDIOS LEARN?
#if youâre going to put kids on point AT LEAST keep them at the barre?#or if you are compelled to put them in the center work on doing releves#SAB doesnât even take dancers off the barre until they are 11/12 IN FLAT SHOES

I wish more comps would have a 50% of dancers in the next age division will bump the age up - a lot of comps my studio went to growing up had that rule - there is NO reason a dance with 6 13 year olds and 1 12 year old should compete junior
And quite frankly I would be embarrassed as a studio owner if I put a bunch of juniors in a âminiâ group just to win a trophy??? We can do better people!
oh the age situation with groups... didnt believe that was an unpopular opinion, lol. studios rlly exploit this comp rule to the maximum, but p21... still remember that peewee group years ago where the only existing peewee was cc or the mini groups with two minis and ten juniors.. but in general, it's disturbing to see that many studios do that, mostly in order to win trophies, not only club, seen it a lot in larkin too, cspas with sb and bw, the southern strutt, among many MANY others
Yea, it's especially offensive to me when there's only 1 dancer who is in the actual age division the group is competing in...especially when the studio has other good dancers that age who could be in it

Look Iâm not one to trash people over placements but because heâs a grown man going after kids idc! For someone who never even managed to crack the top 10 at tda heâs got an awful lot to say!!
This âformer larkinâ guy on tiktok has to be the most toxic oh my lorddddd. first of all i donât even think he was at larkin and if he was he was irrelevant. he clearly lacks some sort of validation to be creating all this fake âknowledgeâ and starting so much crap
#being a boy from Larkin??? shoulda been a piece of cake#probs why heâs making all of these anyway because he never got his 15 minutes of fame from comp dance

i know when we talk about inappropriate comp dance choreo we tend to focus on jazz because that's where most questionable choreo happens, but honestly that duet shannon was choreographing for emma and diego.... why did she have her 16 year old daughter lying on her back with diego crawling on top of her kissing her neck, hello??!?!?? kissing on the lips?? what's going on here

Second this! He was BY FAR the nicest tremaine staff member
Also I remember my friend and I passing him in the hallway of our hotel and saying hi to him and he gave us the biggest hugs 𼚠(everyone at my studio had the biggest crush on him lmao)
the person suggesting Tony is mean or rude is full of it. Or just a very sensitive person. Tony is literally the only director worth a craapp at âBTFâ. I hope he takes over very soon because they need it badly!
i liked his vibe when he was filming the tda vlogs. going up to people, involved, etc is what a director should be!

Exactly like I donât agree with Shanny in most regards, but like guys be so for real. Theyâre a highly competitive dance studio and many of their students want to pursue futures that involve dance in one way or another. If these were rec kids who do two competitions a season to have fun then no I donât think the way she spoke to them wouldâve been appropriate. But this is more than a fun little hobby to these girls. She didnât degrade their character, she didnât say anything that will leave a lasting impression on their self esteem.
And before anyone comes for me⌠yes Iâm sure mather has toxicity considering girls have left mid season, or after only a year or two there. However, this specific incident wasnât toxic coaching.
Slay anon I love u

I know someone who went to Mather that left because they were always so unorganized it stressed her out LMAO. She said they never truly had a set schedule and sometimes theyâd just be randomly told theyâll be rehearsing and theyâd be there until midnight on a school night. Then at competition theyâd be so late to put their routines on stage. It makes sense bc sometimes the most creative people are the most chaotic and scattered
this checks out

Going off on them for not being prepared, but at the same time not being prepared because they donât have the prop there for the dance and having to move everything around is a little ironic đđ
It wasnât the prop dance though that was the teens (I donât even think that these two things happened on the same day of comp??)

Ik you thought what shannon did was fine but seeing how many people were horrified⌠ru guys soft?
I mean⌠have you never been in trouble with a teacher before???
#and itâs not like she was screaming at them#listen I know shanny is crazy#but I donât think that was over the top

Wait I literally saw nothing wrong with shannon threatening to pull the number. If a group cant get their sh*t together the day of the competition they shouldnât get to go out there and make the choreography look bad. I donât ride for shannonâs opinion 99% of the time but that wasnât bad
Thatâs why I said it was just stern - especially because it was the senior dancers. She also wasnât yelling and then before they went on said that this will be a learning experience for them so I think she was completely valid in what she did. If it were the minis then we would have a different story here
