Weekly review

Week 1- (6th - 13th)

I created an initial research sheet, which simply consisted of things I was interested in and what I feel could hold my attention for the entire 10 week project. While just wanting to do something that interested me, I also have personal components which I wished to include. The main two, are to use my newly purchased drone as I feel it will allow me to take my project in a completely unique direction, compared to the many others in my class. The other is to include my holiday to New York, however, as this visit is with many others from college I feel that it will be as different as I’d like. As to me there is nothing that can annoy me more than when others try to recreate or reinterpret my work, especially as sometimes people think I’ve then used theirs. 

Along with the enorgeral sheet, I chose some select topics of which I did further research on Pinterest. This will help me understand more the direction I want to work in along with putting images and ideas in the back of my head, that I will hopefully be able to use when doing the development work.

Week 2- (13th - 20th)

A 5 day trip to New York City

Week 3- (20th - 27th)

Further research using NYC alpha research and more sheet and Pinterst work to develop my project idea. 

Knowing that my future lies in Visual Effects, I feel using that as a main focal point of which to go on makes quite a lot of sense. 

Week 4- (27th - 3rd)

This week I was required to go down to London, for a university visit. But it was not until later in the afternoon, thus giving me time before lunch to take some alpha image research. 

Week 5- (3rd - 10th)

I was in London for a Chelsea Match, but as the game was a lake kick off I had time before the game to do some practice filming with the drone. However, as London has very precise rules I had to do a lot of research before hand to find both my ideal location but also one I could actually use. After much deliberation I found that Greenwich park would work the best, as it had a great view of Canary Wharf while being one of the closest to the safe flying perimeter edge.

Week 6- (10th - 17th)

Week 7- (17th - 24th)

Week 8- (24th - 1st)

Week 9- (1st - 8th)

Week 10- (8th - 12th)

Plan- 

1. Collect research for ideas, use Pinterest, books and mind map sheets

2. Trip to NYC, collect some images and film that could be used if I chose to, along with using MOMA and the other museum visits to collect and develop more ideas, of what I will want to create along with how.

3. Continue to collect research for idea development as well as looking through alpha research from NYC. Begin thinking of not just ideas but what I could develop into and create using that idea.

4. 

5. Select preferred ideas and create draft components of them to see whether it would work or better to remain just an idea. This could be something short on After Effects or a simple concept line drawing on Photoshop
