Welcome to Spring Time in Texas!

Hey everyone, as you can tell I live in the Lone Star State of Texas. I was born here and have mainly lived here for about 32 years. I have moved to Arkansas, Nevada and  New Mexico and spent 7 weeks in India for a mission trip.

The thing about Spring in Texas is so amazing that it only happens for about a few weeks to a month, and that is our State Flower and my favorite flower (aka weed), The Texas Bluebonnet. There are many variants of the Bluebonnet ranging in colors and regions. This type of species is called Lupinus Texensis, it is native to Texas yet like I noted before, there are many different variants.

But what is it about my State that I love so much?

Landscapes

Texas is one of a kind in its remarkable landscapes. We have 4 or more different areas like Mountains (El Paso, Marfa and more), The Desert (Odessa, Midland, Lubbock and more), Hill Country (Hillsboro, Waco, Fort Hood), Costal, Swamp (Marshall and more) and North Texas as our Country Range. It is amazing to me that there is so much beauty here and in every state I see pictures of. The Stars at Night…

The night sky in parts or almost all of Texas can be seen clearly and without lights blocking the view. In fact, if you look at a nighttime map of the US you will see Texas and other states do not have that many lights. There are places where the are no lights at all and with the best views. Texas Night Sky through Bing Search has some amazing photos to look at, it’s like being on a totally different planet.

Storms in Texas

Recently we had a cold front come through and brought some cooler temps with it. As I live in Central Texas, we do not see much snow, therefore, we get Ice :-) But recently we had that one big cold front come through and with its different types of Weather Watches and Warnings. Texas, to my knowledge, is the only state to have up to 4 seasons in one day. For example, Saturday the most northern part of Texas was under a Winter Storm Warning while my area was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and Tornado Watches. We really do have a bipolar weather system.
