“If you had asked me that question a few months ago I would have said no, but, yeah, I would like one.” Mattie had smoked before but stopped a while ago, but with everything happening, she took it back up. “Old habits die hard I suppose.” 

"Did you want one?" Daniel asked with the cigarette between his lips, figuring that he should offer before he tucked the pack back away inside of his pocket.

To say that she had changed was an understatement, on the outside, she was still the happy and perky shop owner, but on the inside, she had grown sarcastic and cynical in some ways. Due to the fact that she was trapped in a place she once loved with the man who made her the way she was probably had something to do with it. She didn’t want to end up that way but there was only so much before her perky personality broke. 

The blonde was making her way to the store, she had somebody else open up that day as she had a couple of things to do before coming in. She was almost there when she began to hear somebody calling her name, she turned around not in annoyance but in confusion. “Um, hello there, any reason you’re so happy to see me?”

“Okay wait hold on. You accused her of theft and you haven’t even checked to see if you’re missing anything?” Cam pulled a face. “That’s some Karen type behaviour. You can’t just accuse without evidence.”

“That’s what I told her!” Mattie exclaimed before the woman looked at the two of them and opened her bag, rummaging through it before looking up with an embarrassed look on her face. She apologised and walked off, leaving the two of them there. “She found it in her bag! Honestly people are so quick to judge and not check.”

“Okay. Yeah.” He nodded and looked from the accused to the accuser. “Why do you think that she stole something from you? Are you missing something or are you simply throwing the accusation out because you thought she might try it?” 

The person she hit into explained how the way Mattie had hit into her was a way that people would pickpocket. “I honestly hit into her, you can check my bag if you want to.” Mattie explained as she pulled her bag from over her shoulder and opened it, showing nothing more than her phone,keys, wallet, tissues and a notepad and pen.

“And neither am I. Perhaps you want to finish your drink first?” Edith waved over another drink, “as long as I have lived, I have learned patience.” The drink was good, her favorite, blood. “It’s been a while since I have danced at all, actually. It’s quite sad.”

A distraction is what she needed. Edith rarely took time to mingle with others, especially at a club, but here she was, sitting at the bar, taking a break from dancing. “Hi, do you want to dance?” Edith slammed her empty glass onto the counter as she waited for an answer.

It had been a while since Mattie had been out at a club instead of a bar, it wasn’t really her scene, but she had tried over the past few weeks to get herself out of her shell and being at the club was the best way. She had ordered her drink and was resting at the bar drinking it when she heard the voice next to her. She turned and gave her a bright smile. “I would love to dance, I must warn you, I am not the best.”

“I was thinking something in a purple. Something simple not over the top like something my babushka would wear.” Daniel eyed some of the jewelry that was underneath the glass. “What about that one?” he pointed to a necklace with a simple pendant.

“Purple, you know I believe that to be an underrated colour when it comes to jewellery.” She said before she noticed the pendant. “You have a really good eye, it’s simple and purple, exactly what you are looking for.” She replied as she took it out from where it had been for him to see properly.

Cam was minding his own business when he heard the argument going on nearby. Hearing the woman plead her case he looked around to make sure she was okay. Pausing for a moment he headed over just in case. “What’s going on here? Are you okay?” He asked the woman.

Mattie didn’t expect for anybody to hear the two of them, but since the other woman was being quite loud, it was obvious somebody was going to come over. “She thinks that I stole something off of her because I accidently bumped into her. It was an accidental bump.” She explained as calmly as she possibly could.

“If we do normal clothes I hope you enjoy a good crop top” Jonas grinned. The vampire had a full drawer of them. Not even in the exaggerated sense, but legitimately a drawer of nothing but crop tops. “yes! exactly make all these bitches jealous”

“Oh, you bet I do, now I haven’t worn one since summer, but I know that I would rock one any time of the year.” She said with a big smile on her lips. She had her own crop tops put away but if she had a chance to wear one again she would in a heartbeat. “We will be unstoppable!”

“You know you’re right” He grinned as he let the sheet back down against the upper part of his thigh. “Pictures taken and posted for everyone to see how hot we both look of course.” The thought of posting some up randomly at the shop did cross his mind. Of course then so did the thought of an angry and annoyed Miss Buttons…which well, was kind of hot, 

“Yes!” She said with glee in her voice. “I am so happy that you are up for it. Maybe we could do it again, with normal clothes or with costumes on I do love taking pictures with friends.” She smiled happily knowing that it was going to be quite fun swapping costumes down the line that night. “Make everybody jealous.”
