The NEXT thing I made was a Ruby-throated hummingbird and a red honeysuckle stand! This one turned out a little more uneven particularly on the beak, I'll need to watch some videos on ironing techniques before I do the next one. But overall I like it and I want to make more... how many hummers could I make?!

I got some Perler/fuse beads for my birthday (I'm 27 now!) and the very first thing I made was Shinx and Electrike! :D

Both the sprites are modified a little, slightly different shading to both and gave the Shinx female markings (blue socks). I like how they turned out especially since these are the first I've put together. I can't wait to make more... now I REALLY need to finish designing my Fakemon so I can make them too!!

Journal for January 2025

Howdy! We're only two weeks in (I think. huh) and it's been a busy year so far. Right after new year's I got sick, and something's been lingering in my sinuses right up until about yesterday. I feel better now though! I didn't quite draw a dragon EVERY DAY of 2024, but I did post 219 out of 365 days, or 60% of the year. Every single day is a bit too much, there were times I was too busy or my wrist got tired and I didn't want to push it, or I just got tired of drawing dragons specifically! (unbelievable, I know) This year I would like to draw more alternately colored Pokémon (that is, a different color other than their normal OR shiny colors), that seems fun. I'll still try to work on personal stuff like Radiant Worlds and my Fakemon, as well as looking into selling art, whether that might be starting commissions or selling physical paintings. I'll have to figure that out another day though, because… My mom is having surgery tomorrow. I will be quite busy for at least two weeks. Or two months? It depends! I want to do anything I can do the make sure she heals properly and help out with physical therapy (if you have never had PT it's like a workout! but harder!!) so it might be a while before I can post regularly. So… I'm out of words again and can't think of a clever ending but I want this posted tonight. Um… QUICK! LOOK AT THAT! *poof*

Summary of Art 2024! ✨

This was the year of the dragon and I was determined to draw as many dragons as I could! ...until I felt burnt out and had to stop! BUT I did pretty good, with 219 dragons posted in total! And every month I wanted to do at least one fully shaded image of my gemstone dragons I have in Flight Rising, so each month is a different birthstone too.

And with that, I think it's time to conclude the daily dragons this year. I don't think I can do a new drawing Every Single Day, but I am still interested in more challenges in the future... I've been thinking about doing alternate colored Pokémon a lot lately, and once or twice a week seems more reasonable to achieve. I want to start posting my own characters again too, I didn't really do that this whole year!

Although I am probably about to get busy again... my mom is expected to have another surgery in January if everything goes as planned. Basically her SI joint is hurting her A Lot and All Of The Time, and this should help her, but I won't have much time to draw while she's recovering, so I won't immediately jump into a new challenge quite yet since I'll be helping her with so much.

...amongst the other challenges that are likely to pop up in the next few years. Like probably having to move. And whatever's happening in White House. I don't know, let's just try our best.

January - Unfinished Motley in the style of a Lisa Frank Unicorn. I was drawing a lot of Motley here.

February - Golgi sketch.

March - Phoenix of the Lake.

April - Zoza from Spectrobes!

May - An Eevee. Not pictured: a bunch of unfinished sketches of what different Eevee would look like if more or less domesticated, or what if a breeder focused on certain traits? (I still like this idea and the art but it needs to be expanded)

June - Maud in a different form.

July - An ArtFight attack of Dachstound! I love this Fakemon!

August - Study of Neopets plushies on my computer screen.

September - Fulvina in Legends: Arceus. I've been playing this game on and off ever since it came out, and now two years later I ALMOST have every single request finished... and I'm STILL looking for my shiny Sneasel/Sneasler!!

October - Sketchy bats. I keep thinking I need to "finish" a design or picture before I can post it ,but that just isn't gonna work because 1. so many of my character are either shapeshifters of I like seeing them in different styles/species/universes/etc, and, 2. I make so much unfinished stuff!!! I want to post more "character parades" (collage, collections, etc) next year.

November - I worked on Fakemon a lot around this time, including...

December - ...my Pokémon fansite! Hooray!

Whew! Time to finish 2024's!
