I'm kind of obsessed with the way sheep are handled. So efficiently. It always looks kind of unpleasant at first and then you notice the sheep are fine with it. They're always being flipped upside down and rolled down a chute or some shit. A shepherd will be tossing that thang in the air and spinning it like pizza dough & the sheep just lets it happen

Getting really tired of seeing posts made by white Europeans who think they're so revolutionary and enlightened for saying that North American countries (specifically the US and Canada) are nothing but boring white monocultures (unlike Europe? lmao) and doubling down when people from North America dispute this by reminding us of our ongoing history of the violent assimilation and eradication of Indigenous, Black, immigrant, and other cultures like

a) the people responding to these posts aren't already well aware of this and

b) that's not kind of the entire point??

Like by perpetuating the myth that the only culture in North America is a single white colonial culture you are disrespecting the concerted efforts of non-white cultures to avoid this assimilation and maintain, reclaim, and establish their own unique and incredibly meaningful cultural practices. These efforts are often paid for in blood in a very literal way, and by doing so you are only continuing the erasure of these already marginalized cultures. You are playing right into the hands of white colonialism.

And by saying like oh well that doesn't count because they're in the minority is absurd? Yes, the dominant culture here is the white colonial culture, but considering its many significant, inherent, detrimental flaws, should we not be supporting and advocating for these alternatives which are struggling to maintain themselves under white colonial authority? And just because something in not in the majority does not mean it does not have value or is not deserving of respect? (not to even begin mentioning that, say, Indigenous populations are the fastest growing ethnicity within the "country" of Canada)(or that many of these Indigenous people to not identify with or recognize themselves as citizens of the nation of Canada but as members of their own, sovereign nations. And by refusing to recognize their sovereign existence you are doing the work of these colonial white states for them)(Or the effects that forcibly relocating and stripping millions of people of their humanity to be held and traded as property caused both traumatic cultural disconnect and resilient cultural evolution which affect the lives of Black Americans, the broader USA, and the world to this day)(Or that colonialism resulted in the creation of entirely new, unique cultures such as the Metis which are deserving of recognition and respect regardless of the fact that their origins are colonial)
