PHEW I made the sketch for this last year, where the hell did the time go??

The initial idea for this was a proposal, but then I decided to leave it vague and without much dialogue so it could even just be a first confession of love, maybe even first kiss, who knows! (Also, Kara losing the ability so speak after looking at Lena just seems in character no matter if it’s been a couple years of friendship or many years of relationship)

It’s supposed to take place somewhere off-world, possibly Argo. I wanted Kara’s supersuit to look a bit more formal, something she might wear to just represent her family instead of a suit for combat.

Ok can we just take a moment to break this down

The moment Lena realizes Kara just confessed to being Supergirl. You can see all the pettiness and malice just drain from her face.

LOOK AT HER SHE GENUINELY DID NOT THINK KARA WAS EVER GOING TO TELL HER. SHE’S COMPLETELY CAUGHT OFF GUARD HERE AND SHE HAD THIS WHOLE PLAN TO SCREW HER SECRET IDENTITY OVER AND NOW SHE’S HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS.

And then Kara starts reminding Lena of all the pain she’s put her through, all the lies, all the deceit, and dammit now she’s remembering why she’s so angry with Kara but also she still? told? her??? Like, you can see she goes somewhere else in her mind, trying to decide whether she should go ahead with her plan to leak the footage or not.

And then you can see it. She’s not going to out Kara tonight. She’s still hurt, still angry, still in so much pain, but for now she’ll keep quiet. She’ll tell herself it’s because now she has the opportunity to play the long game, but eventually she won’t be able to lie to herself anymore: She’ll never be the Luthor she thinks she is.
