Maximus!

You're a menace. But I love you.

You're 100% daredevil.

You're learning more words!

"Dirty" you like to wipe your hands and clean up messes (to be fair, you're usually the one creating the mess).

"Wawa" is water. Drinking, washing hands, swimming, playing. Any kind of water is "Wawa"

"pease" is please. With the hand signs for please.

"no" is very deep. You're very good at saying no.

You must have what you want and when you want it. Or else tantrums come. You're very stubborn. And you know when we try to hide it and you know where it is somehow.

We love you so much little one. Never stop exploring.

Max! It's been 2 weeks of preschool and you're transitioning beautifully. First few days were rough. When mama dropped you off once, I said okay, say bye... and you said bye to the teachers. Then turned to me and bawled out!

I hope you're having loads of fun and learning lots.

We're so proud of you my lil Max. I love you so much.

Dear Max,

First day of daycare/preschool!! You crushed it. You even peed in the potty.

You've been saying "poo poo" and then walking to the potty. You'll flush and said byebye. And then move the step stool to wash your hands.

You'll also throw away things in the garbage.

You're a very impressive little being and we love you so much.

Don't ever stop exploring!

Mr. Max, you impress me. And everyone. You've got big energy and it's infectious.

You love to dance. You love to copy your brother. That's whatever he eats, play, watches and sometimes says!

Last night you just rolled around on the bed to fall asleep.

Yehyeh gave you your monkey backpack and you said"thank you" without any prompting.

Dear Max,

Mama is slacking. I love you so much though. Don't ever forget! I'll never admit it to dad but working from home and watching you by myself 3 days a week is draining. Don't get me wrong though, you are a really good boy.

You are a climber! Why don't you have any fear?? I went downstairs for 30 seconds, closed the gate behind me so you wouldn't follow, and you were on top of the bench with a big ole smile. So of course, we got rid of the bench.

You still climb on other things though. Haha.

Sometimes for diaper changes, you'll follow me and lay on the ground. Other times, not so much. But if I do leave the kitchen/living room, you'll usually come looking for me within a minute. I'll either hear "ma ma" in the hallways or the pitter patter of your feet. I love to try to spook you and say "boo!" when you round a corner. I think you're a thrill seeker because you get a huge grin on your face and then try to tackle me.

The sweetest thing you started doing is grabbing my finger and leading me somewhere. But if I don't offer my finger, you will start pulling on my pants or even pushing my legs. You're a determined boy.

You love the water! I think you're part fish. You took a shower last week and you absolutely love it. You tried to catch the water in your hand.

You also got a mischievous vibe going on. You love to steal a phone or have a toy you're not supposed to and run away from us but you'll stop and look back so that we'll continue to chase you!

You put bearbear in the toilet. Don't tell your brother. You also tried to put another toy of his in the toilet but I caught you before you were able to do that.

You love music, you're a fantastic dancer.

Good morning Max!

Your brother sometimes calls you Max-Max or Maxi-pold or Max-imous. (Learned from your dad)

You're a sweetheart. Sometimes you'll try to just go hug your brother!

A month ago, I thought you'd never learn how to drink from a straw. You were able to suck just fine but you'd let the liquid dribble all out your mouth, down your chin. Kind of adorable but mostly annoying. Haha. But you're good at it now!

And you like to brush your teeth. You'll make the motion but mostly like to bite on the toothbrush.

You're kind of particular with your food. Very specific about what you want to eat. But plain rice wins everytime.

You love wagons! Anytime you see a wagon, or something with wheels, you try to get on it.

You're such a sweet kid and we're so lucky to be your parents. Love you so much!

Have I mentioned how good you are at communicating? Because you're very good at it!

Not just nonverbally with the pointing but also verbally!

Twice this week, after you woke up and mama picked you up. You pointed to the nursing chair and said "there" (your version of there) as in you want to eat breakfast.

You're down to one nursing session a day. You're getting better at straws. Less suck up a bunch and let it dribble down your chin. Haha.

Dad did bedtime routine the other day and he is super impressed by you. You love the "where's the hen?" Book and giggle at every reveal.

Oh my Max. You're such a sweet pea. Unless you're hangry. Mama should know that if you're inconsolable that means you're hungry! Sorry my booboo.

You're great at communicating your wants. You're a pro at pointing and you've started babbling all the time. We hear you saying 哥哥! And you sure do love you big bro.

He was trying to stop you from breaking up his trains so he stood to block your way and held his arms out. You went in for a hug! And so he hugged you too!

It melts your daddy and my hearts to see you two playing together!

We love you so so much.

Dear Max,

You love to take things apart and try to put them back together. You've currently got a bin of take out kids and you're just putting them together... I wouldn't say organizing but you're not just throwing them this way and that way.

You are great at making pretend vroom noises when playing with cars and trains.

You've got so many teeth now! When you turned 1, you had 3 on the bottom and now you've got 4 on top too! And the 4th on the bottom is tryna wiggle it's way out. You're back to drool monster status.

We just back from a SoCal road trip and you are a trooper! We actually sat you in the back row of the minivan by yourself and you did a fantastic job. The first leg, mama forgot to pack your snacks next to you so we had to throw them to you. Which actually worked out well... When mama didn't miss.

You love learning! Anything new captures your attention like no other. You've got a good eye too. You know what you want. And you're quick to pivot and stiff arm to get to it! Haha

We love you so much my lil bb. You're growing so fast. I hope you never stop exploring!

Happy first birthday, my lil love!

I'm sorry I'm writing to you days late. It's not even your birthday month anymore. But I think you had the best time at your birthday parties.

You're one of a kind. I am so impressed by you. You are a babble monster. You communicate very well. Pointing at what you want and where you want to go. You're a stubborn lil thing. Also, so good at climbing! You used the kitchen helper to get to the high chair. And it was only by the chair because you'd climb up onto the peninsula in the kitchen. You're so daring!

I love you lil one. Don't stop exploring the world.

Dear Max,

You are a smart cookie. You love discovering new things.

You found a piece of plastic under the sink and then brought it over to the trashcan! And then you were pushing on the thing to get it to open. I held open the trash lid for you and then you threw it in! Smart, smart cookie.

You prefer walking and stumbling over crawling. But you're definitely getting really good at walking. You also love to climb.

You're still learning how to get down from the kitchen tower but couches are no problem. You scoot your butt down just fine. But so for the kitchen tower, and stairs, if I'm close enough to you, you'll just lunge forward to get down. Kind of very risky but so far mama has been successful at catching you. Haha

You're very independent and can easily play by yourself but only if someone is in the room with you. Once you notice nobody else is in the room, you go searching, of course on your two feet and not hands and knees.

Happy New Year, Max!

You're so good at steps now!! You fall and then keep going up. You'd rather walk than crawl

I just put you on the toilet and you pooped! Clean diaper.

You learn so much from your brother. During the new year party, you spilled some pouch on the table and then ended up dipping a cracker in it to eat. What a sophisticated palette you have :)

I love you so much. You're growing up so fast and I'm tryna soak up all the moments.

Dear Max,

You're taking real steps! And not falling! You took like 6 steps from the nugget to the couch. To read a book your brother left.

I'm so glad you're a sturdy and happy baby. I take you for granted. You climbed out and fell from the high chair yesterday and I was so scared. We're going to have to buckle you in from now on.

You love food. I think your lateral incisors are coming out which is partly why you've been biting me lately. But I think also because you're biting on the pouch to get extra food.

I love you so much my sweet pea. You're such a darling. Don't ever change!

I can't believe you're going to be double digit months soon. You're such an independent fun loving little kid already.

You gravitate to whatever is new. You absolutely love playing peekaboo with your dad.

Your new thing is climbing on high chairs. You can't sit still for more than 5 minutes. Yesterday you tried to leap from the chair to me. You're definitely adventurous.

Your head of hair is growing and your bottom two teeth are so pronounced. We finally got cream for your skin irritation so it's looking a lot better.

You slept 11 hours the other night! But the night before cried for half an hour in the middle of the night because mom and dad were too tired to hear you :(.

I love you so much. You're the cutest little bean.

Maxwell Benjie!! You're taking steps by yourself! This is toooook fast. Just a few weeks ago you were starting to stand by yourself and now you're taking steps! Small steps that result in a stumble but still! Steps!! You also have no fear.

You climb anything and everything! I left the gate open and wanted to see what you would do. And you acted like you could take a step downstairs! I caught you before you fell.

Also, you got your two little bunny rabbit bottom teeth! They sprung out quick! And now you're drooling so so much. It's like a soaked bib every hour.

You're the sweetest little baby though. You mainly cry about being hungry or poop. You are very independent. Mama loves watching you play and explore. Even when your brother is pushing you away, you love him because he's near you. Oh Max.

Max! You pooped on the toilet today! You started pooping in the diaper but you kept pooping on the toilet.

Max oh max, you're growing so fast.

So fast that you don't care to cosleep! I just wanted to go right back to sleep but once I brought you to bed, you were bright eyed. You finally went back to sleep an hour later. By yourself in your crib.

I love you so much lil man. I'm so proud of how you're exploring the world.
