and ANOTHER THING is that I just can't get over the idea that Langdon took a route in life he felt like he was supposed to in every single facet except his choice in medicine practice. I can see a world where his parents wanted him to be a surgeon, but he did rounds in emergency medicine and it was, for the first time in his well-laid-out life, something that felt like it was HIS. He's got the wife and the kids and, now, the puppy, but even THAT - Dana making fun of him for getting a dog when his wife's got two kids and his hours are insane - he's painting in the numbers of a life he feels like is supposed to bring him fulfillment, is supposed to add up to "I am successful" but it doesn't feel that way for him and that kills him.
