Every time I hear Taylor Swift, every single solitary time I hear her name, I think, “What a great name for a speedster.”

It’s so wild that she’s genuinely a mentor. That she’s reached such a pinnacle where artists that she’s inspired are coming up & soaring & shining just as bright as she did at that age. My brain cannot process what a journey this has been & how she’s literally still going. Every time Taylor gets some type of award like this it’s a wild reminder of the fact that she really has changed the world in ways that I don’t even think we fully understand yet. Sometimes loving her feels so small but then I see her get recognized like this & it’s like…. woah.

not that you need another opinion on this, but there is something i think a lot of swifties (and stan culture in general) still haven’t gotten through their heads after like a decade of this nonsense that there is a difference between what you can/should say out on the vast interwebs and within the confines of the fan community we have built. doxxing/harassing/dehumanizing someone in defense of your fave is never ok, and its also true that sometimes you do want to vent without censoring your harshness. that’s what the swiftie corner of tumblr or your stan group chats are for. 

you are allowed to be upset about people coming for your fave. you are allowed to voice that anger, especially toward the person actually responsible for the issue in a way that is like “hey do better”. dehumanizing someone is not the same as holding them accountable. and when you fight the fire of people dehumanizing and disrespecting your fave with your own fire of dehumanization in the name of defending them, you aren’t actually changing anyone’s mind or actions. you’re just making your fave and their entire fandom look bad.

you have to remember that at the end of every internet interaction is another human being.
