We under appreciate the fact we are able to see who is calling and choose to answer or not nowadays, rather than pick a phone up off the wall for a mystery each time.

Fiore’s Sword in One Hand
General Principles
Rule of Five Things: Never fail to do one of these things; strike, break, bind, disarm, throw.
Five Elements: Beat, Break, Cover, Exchange, Villano
Six cuts (fendente, sottano, and mezzano, both sides), five thrusts (high and low from each side, straight)
The Guards
I allocated the Five Elements to each guard based on its likeliest opening action in bold, and the others ranked by my opinion (colored by other 15th and 16th century sources that shared similarities with Fiore). From left to right, their order expresses my thought on likeliest to least likely (or just tactically unique and not likely to be used often, such as a falso mezzana beat from right to left out of Breve, which could only really be used against an extended sword).
Posta di Donna (top left, middle); strike, break, exchange, villano
Posta di Donna La Sinestra (bottom left); strike, break, exchange
Posta Breve (top left, right); exchange, villano, break, cover (inside or hanging), beat (falso mezzana)
Posta di Coda Longa (top right and bottom right); beat (falso or roverso), break, cover (outside or hanging), exchange
Dente di Cenghiaro (bottom middle); beat (falso or roverso), exchange, cover (outside or hanging))
 Important Bridges to Stretto
Inside cover, left hand reaches over and grips (Two Hands, Largo 9th Scholar)
Inside cover, blade grab (Two Hands, Largo 2nd Scholar)
Outside cover, elbow push (One Hand, 9th Scholar)
Hanging cover, left hand reaches under and grips (One Hand, 8th Scholar)
Punta Falso; mezzana but just a light tap, dip under, halfsword thrust other side (Two Hands, Largo 16th Scholar)
The other plays of the sword in one and two hands should just be integrated as seems fitting. I’m really liking this, and thank you to @blarpus for igniting a revisit to the sword in one hand.

I race the sun home in the morning, and the moon up at night. Anything can happen, and anything does. There’s just today - and then there’s tonight. And tonight is wonderful. - The Poker House
