Okay rant ahead cause I have no one to say this shit to so I'm gonna scream it into the void at my mutuals

I think I'm falling in love with my guy best friend. I've had a crush on him before back in high-school but I was able to get over it cause I realized that we weren't really compatible and that he wasn't really interested. But within the last few month things have been... different. At least for me they have. It started with us having a very long and in depth conversation about sex one night. That wasn't something that we had talked about before and we got really personal really quickly. That conversation opened up sex as a topic of conversation and oh my god it is not helping the sexual tension on my end. And then we had a conversation where we said we'd be friends with benefits in another world where he wasn't waiting for marriage. To be honest thats my dream scenario cause I dont really want to be in a relationship right now. And in general we've been talking a lot more, he'll just call me now with nothing particular to talk about. And I catch myself giggling at his every word and I smile everytime he texts and ugghhhh I just get so giddy around him now. I think I'm gonna see him in person again soon and I just know it's gonna be torture not being able to kiss him or touch him. It's all I can think about. And it's so frustrating cause I don't think he would ever date me, he's told me I'm not his type, but then that fwb convo happened and it sent my head spinning. Even if he did want to date I don't think it would work well at all, we are such polar opposite people, we shouldn't even work as friends but it does somehow. Getting closer to him lately feels like I have so much more to lose if I tell him how I've been feeling, because I do really value our friendship and he's one of my closest friends at the moment. But it's also starting to tear me apart, I'm losing my mind every time I talk to him.
