I was experiencing the torment of not knowing where my wife was. All the anxiety, and the fear and insecurity welling up. I had a feeling she was was with him, the man she’d been dating for a couple weeks, openly, and rubbing in my face how much more of a man he is than me. The man she had been teasing me about leaving me for. And when I came home from work on Friday, she wasn’t home. No note, no text, nothing. Just an empty house.

Panicked, I looked in her drawers and her things were still here, so that helped calm me down, and I texted her. Nothing. Then I called and left a voicemail. “Uhh, honey? Can you please call me and let me know where you are? Are you’re alright? Please?”

Finally about an hour later, I received these pics. I just stared at them, at her. She looked so beautiful, and she was wearing such a lovely soft sweater. I wanted to be with her, I wanted to be her man again. But then her text came through:

“Hi sweetie. I’m sorry I didn’t say anything. I’ve been with my boyfriend, and I just forgot about you. Sorry. I’m at up at his cabin for the weekend. I’ll be home Sunday night.”

I stared at the text for a few minutes, shaking and on the verge of tears. With her “boyfriend”? She never called him that before. She “forgot” about me? It made me feel so… insignificant, so small.

“But, honey, I love you. I miss you. Please, will you come home? Please?” I replied, pathetically.

She didn’t answer for a long time. It was excruciating. Frightening. And I was out and out crying now.

Finally, she answered. “No, sweetie, I’m sorry, but I’m with him now. This is where I belong. Where I want to be.”

“But what about me?” I replied.

“You just be a good boy, get your chores done, get to bed on time, and by all means, stop your whining.”

“Ok. I’m sorry.” I typed, holding in my sobs as though she were there in the room with me.

Then I added “I hope you have a wonderful weekend.”

As i saw her emoji response “😉😁😘” I felt like most pathetic cuckold in the world.
