Beckett slowly pulled out the spray bottle.

"Ok, no that was ONE time," groaned the Orion, "ONE time I try to borrow someone's brain and no one lets me live it down."

"Well, it was one of the scariest days of my life," pointed out Rutherford with an awkward chuckle, "anywho, I'm Rutherford, this is Tendi, Boimler, T'Lyn, and Mariner. We're here to check on this planet... I don't suppose you know where they are?"

"Oh please," scoffed Beckett, "the town was clearly kidnapped and/or enslaved by one of their enemies. One of them was chasing the other through a dimensional rift and the locals got caught in the crossfire."

Boimler gave her a look, "What makes you think that?"

"Because that's what happened with Cruz earlier, but also because that's what always happens," she reminded them, "so, Dick and Proud of it, how warm am I?"

Jessica Cruz was an average girl living a normal life with her moms, until one day, she was chosen to become a Green Lantern. Though it felt more forced but nonetheless, she saw her life changed as a result. Jessica hates fighting and doubted the ring for choosing her as a Green Lantern.

Over time, she managed to overcome these flaws and managed to prove herself to be a capable Green Lantern. Though she did suffer from a few traumatic experiences. She still had backup to help her out. And overcome her trauma.

One mission though changed things. She was on patrol when she was attacked by Red Lanterns. Much like the Green lanterns, except where their power comes through their Will, the Red Lanterns' power come from their rage.

Jessica managed to escape but was injured. She flew towards her ship when a bright light emerged and caused her to black out. Unaware of what happened or that when she awakens, she would find herself no longer in her universe.

"came back wrong" what about Came Back Afraid. You used to be brave. Too brave maybe, defying the odds at every turn, a fighter, cocky, playing with fire, first to throw yourself at the enemy. Until one day it all caught up to you. You came back, somehow, but now you know all too intimately how it feels to lose, to die, to be destroyed. Now you flinch and freeze and cower at the slightest provocation. Who even are you now if you can't be brave? The grave may have let you go, but the mortal fear still grips you tighter than ever.

best way to protect yourself is to wear a mask (n95 or kn95) wherever possible and do social events outside if you're not gonna mask. though the latter isn't foolproof, I read a case study of a jogger infecting a bunch of people in a park. it can happen.

"I saved a copy of Cruz's interdimensional signature," she explained, "it is a personal project I decided to undertake after the dimensional breach incident, so that we may be better prepared to detect displaced organisms."

She held up the PADD, showing them that the energy signatures from Jessica was a near-identical match from Constantine and Zatanna, though their magical energy was causing some minor interference.

"You seem to dabble in interdimensional energies," she noted to Constantine, "a lot of it seems to be inside you, entangled in a quantum level. It causes interference with my tricorder."
