Just thinking about how people interpret the “they’re gonna need you” line to be about buck being there for the others when while it’s partially about that I think it’s more importantly Bobbys way of reminding him that he’s important and needed because we all know buck when he gets depressed, he gets in the passively suicidal “expendable” mindset, so in many ways bobby saying they’re gonna need you is not bobby taking care of the others but Bobby taking care of his son because he knows being needed by others is what would keep him going
