"DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION" — A Bad Lip Reading
Bad Lip Reading at the DNC - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DErurte4CE
So funny because you never know what is about to come out of their mouths! This video has more than 1.2 million views in just over one day. The video is has been shared enough to make it go viral, and is proven by the numbers it’s been viewed on www.youtube.com. The video encourages participation in a way that it makes a person want to come up with ideas for bad lip reading. We’ve seen it time and again through other popular examples such as NFL athletes and Adolf Hitler ripping his generals for a catastrophic loss for his military from the film, “Downfall.” These videos also encourage production of meme’s which also make video’s go viral once they’re spread by others. This video is authentic because it takes images from a real event. The DNC Lip Reading video is viral because the upcoming general election is dominating the airwaves right now, and whether we like it or not, we are bombarded with information relating to the election. While it may not quite have the global reach, it certainly appeals to the masses in America as we are more familiar the people on stage than non-Americans might be. The primary kick is the humor involved, the concept takes something very serious and makes it trivial. I could not help but laugh as I listened to the words that came from the speakers. This video is truly hilarious. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have!
What do you think, comment below if you feel that this video qualifies for the conditions below. Agree/Disagree?
S - Sharing, Highly Shareable P - Participate, encourages participation A - Authentic, it’s the real deal R - Reach, how does it reach the masses? what propelled it to move so quickly K - Kick, what’s the extra kick that made it go viral

Bill Maher
Bill Maher is one of my favorite broadcast journalists. I love to watch his commentary on the weekends to review the weeks happenings in the political realm. His stance is always left leaning and always provides a welcome bit of comedic relief. While I don’t always agree, I can appreciate his opinions. I like that he is willing to have people with alternate viewpoints on his show “Real Time with Bill Maher.” There are many people who do not like Bill because he is so outspoken and his stance on politics and current events. He is certainly a polarizing figure.
He is on Twitter and promotes both his political views as well as his personal life as a stand up comedian and has a very strong following at more than 4.5 million followers. There is definitely a left leaning bias to most of his humor and commentary. Bill’s use of Twitter most enhances his social profile. He is always working towards shaping his view of the political landscape.
He will even call out those who share his political views as evidenced by the following tweet:
#NewRule Bernie supporters you can't claim to be "silenced" if you won't shut the hell up. #alloilsmatter

Participation in the Groundswell
#ALS #Icebucketchallenge #NECIce
The reasons for participation in the groundswell and how they are related to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
Keeping up with friendships - the challenge really took off on Facebook, and this medium was able to spread the viral nature of the challenge to many people around the world. Involving others by tagging or calling them out greatly helped move the ice bucket challenge forward.
Making new friends - by tagging ones existing friends, and secondary friendships, this enabled people to become more social, and make connections friendly.
Succumbing to social pressure from existing friends - by challenging friends take part in the challenge on social media, we exert peer pressure on them to join in the campaign.
Paying it forward - Many people want to make a difference in the lives of others, but they don’t always know how to do it. The Ice Bucket Challenge made it easy for everyone involved to have an impact on this terrible disease.
The altruistic impulse - By participating we are giving back to the community.
The prurient impulse - By participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge, we make ourselves more well known, less boring - in essence ‘putting ourselves out there'
The creative impulse - the Ice Bucket challenge enabled people to join in an activity that is something completely different than just a normal day activity.
The validation impulse - we make a difference when we join others in an activity that is bigger than ourselves.
The affinity impulse - when we join in an activity with others, we become more powerful.

Ducati Brand Advocate
I chose this group because I have been a member for several years. These guys are loyal to the Ducati brand and share great information with owners and enthusiasts of Ducati, and the sport touring community in particular. These guys are not all that well known and the group is closed to the public, although it’s easy to join.

A Call for Unity - Justin Forsett
There’s been a huge amount of negative groundswell over the past few weeks over the killing of police in response to police brutality against people of color, and blacks in particular. Many times professional athletes are viewed with a lens of negativity. It is a commonly held belief that NFL players are only interested in playing the game for money. We should not forget that these players are people too, with thoughts and emotions just as viable as the rest of us. It is great to see a player speak out in support of the men and women who protect and serve our communities, and to spread that respect to the rest of the league by speaking out.
It’s amazing how a call for unity can spark conflict and anger. Speaking out doesn’t come without consequences, as evidenced by the comments below:
Peyton Lind Another black athlete who is clueless.
-blacks have been getting murdered by other blacks for decades rather than months. Blacks who are murdered are killed by other blacks something like 70%-74% of the time. They are killed by whites about 4-5% of the time. Let that sink in for those who keep trying to imply the evil white man is killing off blacks.
-cops have killed twice as many white people as black people this year and it was the same story last year and probably the year before that and the year before that and you get the picture. Most shootings are also not of unarmed people. I am in no way backing the police or implying all the armed shootings have been justified (I believe police officers as a whole are power hungry) but quit trying to act like only black people get shot by police.
-this belief black people like him have that the police just get off without punishment for shooting blacks is also absurd. Police get off without punishment all the time whenever they shoot someone or absue their power. It's the police brotherhood at work and they don't like to punish their own.
-many of the unjustified shootings of blacks that have made the news the last year have been by people who simply gave the cops a hard time and antagonized the cops and resisted. This isn't to say they deserved to be shot (they of course didn't) but is to show that if a cop confronts you then just act passive and don't take your chance with police as you don't know if the one you're dealing with is a hothead who likes to abuse his/her power. Just accept whatever the cop is telling you right there and if you are being treated unfairly, deal with it after. YOU WILL NOT WIN if you try to go up against a cop in the heat of the moment like that. It's called common sense.
These are facts but I get the feeling blacks like Forsett don't like facts and would rather buy into the media's race baiting narrative and try and imply the evil white man or the system is holding blacks down and that it is just evil whitey killing blacks left right and center when (again) the FACTS show it is almost always blacks killing other blacks. Funny when you see multi millionaire athletes saying that crap as their position in society proves it is complete BS.
All it takes is for people (this goes for all the SJWs and white guilters as well) to actually do some RESEARCH to see what is reality and what isn't but people like him don't like that and would rather just listen to the media narrative and then go and post something on social media to try and win points with the black community.
You never see any of these black athletes asking the black community why blacks treat other blacks so poorly and asking for that to change. Oh no, they'd never do that because they'd be called sellouts and other stuff by morons and they can't have that! They love to bring up race when it is a black that dies at the hands of a white person but race is never brought up when talking about black on black crime or blacks killing whites/cops and instead they just use worlds like "the country" or "we have to come together"
The worst part about all this stuff is that there are many blacks (perhaps the majority of blacks) who don't try and play the victim/race card and know all the points above and if tensions keep rising in society, they will probably get screwed over in some way because of the vocal minority making others think that is how all blacks are like. JFF Manziel finally issues an apology to his fans and vows to return to play in the NFL again. I’ll believe it when I see it!
Hopefully he’s matured enough to move past his abusive behavior and finally show us the man he really is - or could be.

#this
#THIS How about that? Major League Baseball has become an old school organization. It’s time to embrace the digital era to promote the 2015 season. Some may say that they never saw it coming, however this digital media campaign is designed to keep fans who are digital natives informed, to embrace new fans who are digital immigrants, to engage all and built a tremendous wave of excitement for the upcoming season next year. It’s not that MLB will collapse without embracing the world of social media, the institution is ingrained in American society and is often referred to as the national pastime. I feel that this isn’t necessarily as true as it once was, just as people don’t often associate America with apple pie and Chevrolet. When I go to games, there are always children present and its a great outing for families. By embracing social media, baseball is endearing itself to the younger generation so that it does not become a forgotten pastime. We must reach a new audience to remain relevant in generations to come. By taking advantage of social media we can create a buzz about our players, and inspire the youth of the world to engage with us in the sport. I’m not sure of the overall impact of this campaign, since I never heard of it until today even though I was at the opening day of the Houston Astros game in 2015. #newenglandcollege #this #NECthis

On the subject of whether I am a digital immigrant, or a digital native, I find myself in the category of digital immigrant. I work in the tech field, but I am self taught. Many of the people I have worked with over the years have advanced IT degrees. It can be a challenge to keep up technically at times but thankfully I am a fast learner! I am a social media user, but I tend to use the sites for classical reasons rather than selfish ones. I don’t like to broadcast my personal business online, but I do love to stay up to date with my interests. Having sites like Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram allows for this type of connectivity and also allows for what I feel like is a little bit of anonymity. #NECImmigrant
