Wall named the creature “Specs” due to its massive eyes that were mounted on two slender stalks. In addition to that, the creature sported six, hairy legs.

Cryptid of the Day: Dismal Swamp Monster
Description: Reported in the Boston Globe, in the morning of June 6th, 1922, Stephen Faerykiewicz drove down a highway next to Dismal Swamp, near Ware, Massachusetts, when he spotted a 6ft log on the road. Only it moved, revealing to be an alligator like creature. If an alligator, then how did it get there?

Cryptid of the Day: Poomoola
Description: Also inappropriately named the “Injun Devil”, the Poomoola is a Sasquatch seen around Mount Katahdin in Maine’s northern Baxter State Park. According to legend, the beast killed Native Americans while avoiding settlers, hence its nickname.

Ah oh... I’m bored. You know what that means? That’s right... IT’S SURVEY TIME!
Now would be a good time to unfollow me.
Have you seen Casablanca? Yes. I liked the part where he said, “Ogres are like onions”.  What’s your favorite older film? Depends on your definition of “too old”. Some people say 18 years is too old. Wait... No, that’s for something else. The answer is Shrek by the way.  Have you ever been in a relationship with someone 10+ years older? No, but I have heard people say that’s too old.  Do you listen to Howard Stern? Yes. He won’t leave my property.  What kind of vehicle do you drive? A car, stupid.
Do you think it’s weird to cut pizza with scissors? I think it’s weird to cut your grandmother with scissors.
Aliens or unicorns? Unicorns. I don’t think aliens would taste that good.  Would you ever want a Loot Crate? They’re out of business (cue Curb Your Enthusiasm theme).   Are you sensitive to caffeine? God. Why is everyone so sensitive now days?  Do you enjoy any of your friend’s grandparents? Where the fuck have you been hanging out?  Do you have any friends that have moved a state away? Yes, all they had to do was push on plate tectonics. Goodbye Oregon.   Have you ever worked in sales? I’ve worked in a store.  What’s something someone calls you that you find endearing? Terry Bogard from King of Fighter 1995 Who was the last person you had a heart to heart with? Kings don’t need advice from little hornbills for a start.  What’s your favorite children’s book? Reading is for toilet lickers.  Is there a new season for a series you’re excited to come out? No, but if they did, I’d accept them regardless of who they are.  What’s the last funny thing you remember someone saying to you? Guess what, chicken butt.  If you wear makeup, what brands do you use? McDonalds, Burger King and Popeyes.  What shampoo and conditioner are you using? The mint flavored ones.  Do you like Lily Pulitzer? I don’t know... He-he-he *Blushes
How old are you? Old enough, baby.
How do you usually do your hair? It doesn’t reach that far, I’m afraid.  How do you feel about leggings if your shirt covers your butt? Probably same way if my shirt wasn’t covering my ass.  What’s your favorite playlist named? “Video Not Found”  Have you ever been given a ticket? What for? By some gnome looking kid at an arcade once. I didn’t know what he wanted me to do with it, so I threw it in the trash.  What is something unique you enjoy about the one you like/love? The way it drips onto the floor.  What is your favorite frappuccino flavor? Since all of Starbucks coffee tastes like mud, I’ll say mud.  What is something that would make you think less of someone? If they are missing a limb. (That’s not discrimination, actually think about the fucking joke).   Do/did you have a Neopets account? I did, but I couldn’t go into the pool cause a bunch of nice black gentlemen told me it was full of aids.  Have you ever cheated on a significant other? In Mario Party.  What is something you’re procrastinating? Life.  What app do you waste the most time on? None, cause I don’t have any followers.
Do you play any games on your phone? No, cause I don’t want a Bejeweled rip-off to drain my battery.  Have you discovered any bands or artists lately you’re digging? Yes. I found the lead singer of The Police in my backyard just last weekend.  Who was the last you saw perform live? I was going to make a joke, but instead I’m going to correct your God awful grammar. The sentence should read, “Who was the last person you saw live”. Subjects. They’re important. And to answer your question, Big Bird on Ice.  Are you into sport’s ball? Nah. I’m more of a fan of Updog.

Cryptid of the Day: Inkanyamba
Within the countries of South Africa and Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), there are tales of an eel like water beast with the head of a horse. It is blamed for storms and death, though dismiss these claims as hysteria. But there have been sightings of the serpent, including a few photographs (one pictured above). These photos were also dismissed as hoaxes, while modern sightings could be explained away by misidentifications of local populations of eels.

Cryptid of the Day: Nahuelito
Description: There seems to be Nessie-like lake monsters seen all over the world, and Argentina is no exception. Nahuelito lives in Nahuel Huapi, in Patagonia, Argentina. Newspapers started reporting the creature in 1922, but it wasn’t until the end of the 20th century that sightings of the creature started to spike. The popular theory is that the creature is a surviving Plesiosaur, like Nessie, while skeptics dismiss the creature as a combination of common animals and hoaxes.

Video
youtube
For the longest time, I’ve wanted to do videos on cryptids, and with the New Year comes new things. So I present to you the first ever Cryptid Quest video, featuring the elusive Beast of Bladenboro. Give it a watch. Pardon my audio quality. And step into the late 1950s rural North Carolina, as we explore the history and theories of this mystery mauler.

At long last… They’re here.
If you’ve followed this blog from the very start, you’d know about Cryptid Quest Cards. But just incase you don’t, Cryptid Quest are trading cards of the world’s most elusive creatures; cryptids. These colorful cards have been my passion project for over five years. I dreamed of one day being about to share them with the world, not just in digital form, but as real, physical cards.
Tumblr media
As you can see, they are very different from the ones you’ve seen pop up on your feed. They are structured better, designed better, and have updated art. In addition to that, they also contain more information about the cryptid. My goal isn’t to rival Magic the Gathering or any other battle cards, but to create a fun way to learn about cryptozoology.
Tumblr media
As mentioned above, all original 24 cards have been updated. My plan is to update all 96 Cryptid Quest cards in this style as I go down the list.
I hope I caught your attention. Now what about possessing one of these stacks for your own enjoyment? Don’t worry, there’s no Kickstarter this time. The cards have been printed and are ready to be shipped. All you need to do is pay for them. I tried to make them as cheap as possible for your convenience, however, printed these myself, as well as the boxes, were pretty expensive. Thankfully, I rounded it out to a reasonable price.
For all 24 cards and the Cryptid Quest box it comes in, you can get one of these stacks for only $20.00. Where do you go to get it? Why, at the Cryptid Quest Shop on Etsy, that’s where.
https://www.etsy.com/shop/CryptidQuest
I am excited to see how many of you will take part in this. This has been my personal experiment. Now, just so I don’t worry any of you, this doesn’t effect the Cryptid of the Day, nor does it effect the creation of new cards (digitally, that is). But, if this does prove to be a success, I will get started on the second phase. Hopefully I’ll be able to get that done by June. But that’s only if I sell out of the cards I have printed.
Tumblr media
Though I started uploading the cards to the internet five years ago, the idea came to me when I was in eighth grade. It took me nearly 10 years to finally learn how to spell Dover. Thank you for being part of this experiment. Keep on searching, cryptid hunters.

Holy shit, the responses to this are the funniest thing I’ve ever read. Seriously, you people couldn’t tell this was fake? Sheesh. Lighten up people, it’s a joke.
