I understand that investor market share isn't the only reason for ridiculous housing prices (COVID, lack of density or affordable housing production, zoning issues, nimby-ism, ect all contribute just as much if not more), but boy howdy does this make me want to scream.

A quarter of homes being bought up by people who will not live in them to inflate the prices to "maintain their investment" and skim money off of people who they have pushed into renting is going to make problems go from bad to worse.
