Y'all aren't going to believe what my husband picked up for dinner tonight. Smoked filet mignon. And there's more: baked potato with the all the fixings, baked beans, mac and cheese, and brisket that we shared. All together it was one of the best meals that I've had in a long time. The only thing I regret is not going to @jubes_smokehouse sooner. They're food is incredible and definitely going in the top rotation of our favorite restaurants. Also, they might have the best brisket in Ft. Worth. Had some milk that was going to expire soon, so I made biscuits. I know I didn't make them in a cast iron skillet (I only have a grill pan and a baby cast iron), but improvising with this butter swim biscuit recipe was worth it. "All the ingredients point to tasty," said my husband. And yes, they're as tasty as they look. Haven't done this in a long time: a real day off, getting out, and drinking beer at a local brewery. Maple Branch has a great beirgarten with lots of space and umbrellas over the tables, which will be great in the summer. We were the only ones there with another couple, so definitely felt safe to imbibe.
