Melody: Hi. I have some like, important news and stuff I need to get off my chest so here goes.

Melody: I'm back in line for the throne, which I'm like...super excited about but before I officially go back to start prepping full-time, I wanted to finish my degree BUT ALSO I wanted to help Atlantica recover from the recent oil spill so I have everything set up to "study abroad" over there for my last year doing environmental field work!

Melody: And you're probably wondering 'what's this got to do with me?' and I'm getting there, I promise. When the Valentine's Ball got snowed in, I was in full panic-mode but the only thing that helped me through that was you being so calm and hospitable beside me, and I think we made a great team. And I kind of haven't been able to stop thinking about it. About us. Okay, anyway, I guess this is my weird way of asking if you wanted to come back to Atlantica with me? I could use some familiar, competent faces helping me out on my oil spill crusade lol

Serenity: I'll be twenty in two months, go fuck yourself. :P Coming from the person I have had in my phone as 'Mel-odramtaic' for the last like, five years, that's amusing. Also, you already know I'm bad at conveying emotion, so that's what you get, take it. Are we not talking about the same Dylan Eric Triton that at twenty years old donned the mantle of Donkey in a CHILDREN'S production of Shrek because he didn't want anybody to feel bad??? It's not your fault it took him this long, but he's our brother, you knew, or at least you should've. You had at least a decade to really sit back and think is why I'm most frustrated. Do you maybe want to be a royal adviser then?

Serenity: Don't know what Rafe helping raise your niece has anything to do with anything, but you're upset, so go off, I guess, but jot down that I've never said you wouldn't make an excellent queen and I've never doubted you would--or will--either. This isn't Game of Thrones, If you really want to be Queen, I'm not going to fight you over or for it, I just want you to be sure. You're finally happy with yourself, I just want you to fucking stay there. Also, I'm not taking blame for you turning this lame and professional, you're just lame and professional and here we are. ;P

Melody: I may love theatre and have anxiety but like...I'm not the one with the reputation for telling people off on the internet in long novel-length posts so...:) Yes, I had a decade to sit back and OVERthink. Because 12-22 are years full of self-doubt for normal people who didn't start going to college in kindergarten. But now I'm an adult who isn't afraid of adult responsibilities. Sometimes people change their minds about things, and I can be serious about things. I don't know if I'd be able to live with a decision I made out of fear.

Melody: I was just using that as the only palpable anecdote for you running from the police so you couldn't be like "I've never done that!" :P Thank you. I am, and I will. It was supposed to be like "omg I'm back in line for the throne", "omg congratulations I knew you could do it!" but then you had to be a DOWNER DOLPHIN.

Serenity: I fucking hate you. You made him feel guilty for so long to take and then as soon as he finally listened and was like "I have a dream and this isn't it." you're going to be like "Welp, nevermind, maybe I /will/ do it!" I need you to know you suck.

Serenity: What if it ISN'T you? What are you going to do in six months? Abdicate again? CAN you re-abdicate?? I've told you both I'll do it, that I don't have dreams like you guys do. But if this is something you really want... Again... If. Is. This. Something. You. REALLY. Want. I'll get over being annoyed at this whole thing. But that's what I need you to think about before you run off to mom and dad. If it's what you REALLY TRULY ACTUALLY FUCKING WANT. Either way I'ma need you to get past this Flaky Mel stage because it's not just your future in this decision, it's quite literally the whole kingdom's.

Melody: Sometimes I forget you're still a teenager til you pull out the melodramatic 'I hate you's. I let him know as soon as I stepped down that he had the same choice! It's not my fault that it took him this long. I needed some time to really sit back and think, and what with the recent oil spill, they'll need my environmental guidance more than ever.

Melody: Yes, Miss 'I met my baby daddy while actually running from the cops', you would make an excellent queen. And while I definitely was being sarcastic, I wasn't about that second part -- I know you'd be great. But it took me this long to realize that I might, too, regardless of how much you or anyone else may doubt me. I've spent too long doubting myself to go back on it again. So yes, I think I'm going to do it. This was supposed to be a fun sisterly announcement until you went and became a Negative Narwhal all over it, so now it's lame and professional.
