Ford let Yuzuki take the medicine, giving a nod of his own as he made his way to the table. Ford had never been one for idle chatter with patients, but then again, this was no checkup, and he had nowhere immediate that he had to get to. It wasn’t like he was adverse to a small amount of social interaction, provided that nothing else was vying for his attention.
“Green tea would be fine,” Ford said. “I often drink it myself. You know, there’s reportedly a number of good health benefits to green tea. Unfortunately, many of them have been found to be somewhat over-exaggerated, if not a complete fabrication… But overall, there are still quite a few claims that hold up.”
Ford nodded in response to Yuzuki’s comment on his health. Yes, he supposed that was true. If Yuzuki fell ill, Ford would likely be among the first to hear about it. “I’ve also been doing well. Then again, if I allowed myself to get sick often, I’m not entirely sure I could keep my reputation as a doctor.”
Yuzuki listened to Ford as he came to the table and serving the tea. It would seem that those benefits were what made green tea common in their home. "I've heard that it has benefits." He said as he sat across from Ford. “I believe that they used to give it to me a lot for those reasons. I can’t really tell if it worked, but it’s become a comfort since then, and that's a benefit.” He grinned, taking a sip while it was still warm. Now he got to drink green tea on nice days outside as opposed to when he was young.
He couldn't really imagine Ford being bedridden, but nodded. It would probably be something for the health-focused doctor to get sick easily. “That would be unfortunate, but you could treat yourself. It's admirable, but no one would want you to work yourself to becoming sick either. Omiyo still has to remind me of that.” He thought aloud. He was also guilty of forsaking health for work. Inspiration was so fickle and deadlines can't be ignored.

Outside the Box [open]
Working with small and delicate jewelry outside wasn’t advised, but it was crisp day outside with no wind. Sometimes the kids like to watch Yuzuki work in his workshop, but it was a bit cluttered today.
With a cloth in his lap to catch any stray pieces that fell out of his hands, Yuzuki sat outside on the porch, busying himself with piecing the foundation of a new silver-colored hair comb. His fingers were careful applying each piece as the comb became more intricate. the wispy additions along the shaft began to resemble ocean waves, a different turn his inspiration decided to take. He bought it up to the sunlight to see if it might look better as vines or even feathers. Flower petals? Fire? the teeth couldn’t hold the design well if he got carried away. His concentration broke as he noticed someone passing his home, and he quickly called to them.
“Excuse me, how does this look to you?” He asked, holding up the unfinished piece. What he really wanted to ask was for someone to model it, he couldn’t do so himself and grasp a full scope of the piece.

reap-the-harvest:
She was thankful the stranger had heard her, Minori nodding as he asked for clarification of the rabbit’s breed. However, as he mentioned he hadn’t seen them, she could not help to feel the slightest bit dejected. At this rate, she’d never find her bunnies, and she certainly did not want to imagine what might happen should they come across a cat, or a fox, or even a big, bad wolf.Â
She perked up at his offer, however, a small smile coming to her face. “Really? If you could, that would be a big help; at least for this area. I know the farmers over in the next, so I’ll be able to ask them once I get over there,” she said, though hoping that maybe the would still be close by and she would not have to venture that way.
“My name’s Minori by the way; thank you for your help!”
The woman-Minori-seemed more than thankful for his help, which Yuzuki was glad for. “I’m happy to help, and my name is Yuzuki.” He reassured her with a quick nod, unable to properly bow while carrying a bag. “Just lead the way Minori.” He encouraged, having a task in a new town already. She seemed really worried about finding the rabbits though, perhaps hers were rather quick or mischievous. Either way, it’d sounded best to find them quick.
“Hm, where would rabbits run off too around here?” He wondered, readjusting his bag while scanning the area around them. With an idea popping into his head, he looked back toward Minori. “Do you have anything to lure them once we find them? Food, maybe?” It wasn’t much of idea, but they could’ve gotten hungry if they wandered away for too long.

Rainy days bring...? [open]
Being apart of a family of farmers, rain isn’t a complete downer in his life, but some days it made him feel more off. Rain sometimes managed to prod at bone-deep exhaustion, a laziness to stay at home and take it easy until the next day. Yuzuki was feeling a fogginess in his head as he looked outside at the rain, reminding him that he hadn’t been sleeping at a decent time the last few nights.
The day started bright and sunny, and Yuzuki decided to try designing outside of the workshop for today. It looked as though he’s made himself comfortable at one of the tables of The Garden Grill with papers scattered among him. He had some unfinished sketches for his new pieces on him now, and he didn’t want to get them wet. The designs had gotten carried away and started focusing on flowers, local flowers sketched with notes on what kind of gems could form the petals. He made the trip to Westown to check on what kind of gems and got stuck in the restaurant, unless he wants to get drenched outside. The memories of being bedridden from being out in the rain also kept him from making the trek home, and he didn’t even think of bringing an umbrella from home.Â
In all, any sense of inspiration seemed blocked by the dreariness outside. So instead, he kept to twirling his pencil in his fingers, half eaten almond caramel next to him as he frowned down at his designs.

“Good evening, Yuzuki. I trust you’ve been well,” Ford responded in turn. As Yuzuki invited him for tea, Ford considered whether or not he should stay, before deciding to accept. He nodded in affirmation. “Thanks is not necessary- I am simply doing my job. However, since you’ve offered, I wouldn’t mind having a cup of tea before I left. May I come in?”
Ford stepped inside, taking in the pleasant smell of tea leaves. He enjoyed tea, but his expertise was not such that he could identify the type of tea based on smell alone. “Where should I put the medication?” Ford asked, holding up the small white bag.
“It’d be my pleasure.” Yuzuki gave a smile as he stepped aside to let Ford into the home. “Ah, I can take that, please, make yourself at home.” He offered, taking the medicine and gesturing that the doctor-now guest-go ahead to the table. The table in the center of the home wasn’t set yet but clean, the soup simmering to keep warm until it was needed as well.
“I hope you don’t mind green tea, it’s one of grandmother’s favorites.” He mentioned, returning to the stove to pour their tea. Yuzuki went ahead and brought a new, filled cup from the shelf to set on the table.Â
“And yes, I’ve been well. I guess you would know if otherwise. How have you been?” He spoke easily, appreciating the company. It felt nice to relax for the day.

“Now there’s no need to say sorry. Don’t worry about it.” Hart waved off the apology and chuckled. “We’re all just trying to enjoy ourselves and that’s what matters. You know?”
“Name’s Hart. Pleasure to meet you Yuzuki.” He replied. He looked around to where Yuzuki was looking. While he had already eaten it seemed like Yuzuki was fumbling around a bit. Being in a place full of strangers could definitely be nerve wracking. When offered food, he decided to play along.
“Sounds good to me. I actually sampled a few things, but there’s so much I haven’t tried it all yet.” Hart replied excitedly. “There’s a bunch of good stuff around. Dumplings, rice balls, meat skewers. They’ve got it all. Not to mention candy.”
“I don’t think it’s a bad thing to get distracted at a festival, there are worse things.” Yuzuki agreed with a lighthearted laugh. “But it’s nice to meet you Hart, feel free to find whatever you like, and I’ll find something.” He was up for following someone or just wandering. The atmosphere was lively and colorful once the unfamiliarity wore off, he felt more relaxed now looking around.
“You’re right, they do have dumplings.” Reading the food stalls around them, he frowned a bit. “I’d like a dessert, but I might not eat dinner.” He thought out loud, a victim of his own sweet tooth. But it was a festival, wasn’t it?Â
So, Yuzuki returned to Hart a moment later, popping a sweet dumpling in his mouth, fully content. They weren’t yomogi, but he was satisfied. Remembering that they were both travelers, he turned to Hart. “Hart, you said you didn’t live in this town, where are you from?”

Since his workshop was closed today, Yuzuki was more than glad to help his grandparents today on the farm. Omiyo was still at the hotsprings, and she couldn’t travel alone so Umekichi left with her. He was working in the kitchen now, thinking that it was a good idea to have a warm dinner ready for them, though they were expected to be rather late getting back. He rubbed his neck as he hovered over the stove, waiting for his tea to finish. He forgets how harsh farm work tends to be, his muscles just starting to bother him. A knock on the door pulled him from preparing dinner, putting a lid on the broth as he left to answer it.
“Good evening Ford. Omiyo said you'd be heading over.” He greeted him warmly, recognizing their austere doctor of Westown. Right, Omiyo mentioned that they should order more medicine soon. Next time, he should head out and pick up the prescription so Ford wouldn't have to make the journey so late, but he has been busy. "You walked all this way, would you like some tea? Omiyo is not here to thank you herself." From the green tea he was boiling, the home began to fill with the smell of tea.
Medicine for Omiyo [[Ford/Yuzuki]]
When patients got to be of a certain age, they would tend to require a lot of medication to remain healthy. A rare few, perhaps, could remain healthy regardless, but Omiyo was not one such lucky soul. Naturally, Ford did his best to ensure that she got the best treatment.Â
Often, it was too much for the old woman to come all the way to Westown. As a result, it would either fall on someone to pick it up from the clinic, or for Ford to make the trip himself. He wasn’t especially fond of doing the latter, but with the town so close, it would be foolish to say that it was a great inconvenience. After work hours, Ford closed up the clinic and headed west, then south. When he got to Omiyo’s house, he knocked on the door, waiting. He was told she would be out, but that Yuzuki would be there to pick it up.Â

Hart had been walking around the festival for a little while, exploring the stands and the various vendors. Each one had something unique to offer whether it be good or games. He walked nonchalantly across the aisles as he had already eaten, and feeling full he wanted to find a nice place to watch the fireworks. It wasn’t long before someone had interrupted his train of thought asking for a good location to watch the fireworks from.
“I’m not from around here. So I’m not 100% sure. I know that you’ll definitely see them from here, but I’m not familiar with any far off place you’ll get a good view or nothing.” He replied turning around to the stranger. The young man seemed to be a visitor as well and it made him quite happy to see others in a similar situation.
“If you want we can try looking for a good one. I’m in search of a nice place too, though I honestly enjoy being in the festival grounds quite a bit as well.”

“My apologies, I should’ve expected more visitors here considering I am one myself.” Yuzuki grinned weakly, quick on apologizing for his blunder. So his attempt didn’t direct him to a local, but it seemed to have gained him a companion. At least the man seemed friendly enough, but he winced at the idea of having bothered someone.Â
But he recollected himself, folding his hands in front of him. “But I’d appreciate the company since I’m traveling alone. My name is Yuzuki.” He introduced himself, giving a bow. Now, on whether to see the fireworks here onr somewhere else? Yuzuki started looking around them. Instead, the smells of nearby stalls reminded him of his empty stomach. He turned back to the man, scratching his cheek.
“Well, I haven’t been here long enough to eat yet,” He stated, noticing other festival-goers nearby who managed to find monaka to eat. He hoped none of the stalls were closing yet, perhaps he could find dumplings. “So the least I could do for your kindness is offer to get something you to eat?” He suggested, hoping this would also be a good opportunity to become more friendly.Â

He felt fortunate to be greeted by the kind inns keeper, Odette, she called herself. He noticed the scar on her cheek, but kept his curiosity to himself. "Ah, it's a beautiful name. Nice to meet you Odette. My name is Yuzuki." He greeted her, reflecting the warmth he was given. For introductory's sake, he bowed again. "I actually come from the countryside, so I haven't gotten I see islands like this." He explained at his fascination with the town as he located his money on him.
He perked up at the mention of a tour. He wasn't expecting to be accommodated like this in a new town as a newcomer, but he didn't want to waste the opportunity. "You would? You don't have to do that, but if you'd like, I should get more familiar with the town. I'd appreciate it." He answered a bit sheepishly. Perhaps it'd be cooler then, it was nice to be inside.
Yuzuki went ahead with the payment, including the extra for food. He sighed, "Yes, a meal would be nice. It's been a while today." He figured the island had nothing from home, but he could try anything...most things. He went ahead and took a seat at the counter. Might as well try: "Hm, what would you consider the best dish from this inn?"

A Fireworks Festival? [Yuzuki/Hart]
@hartsnewbeginning He was already here, it didn't hurt to be curious about the displays in town. Oak Tree Town was setting up stalls for something for the evening, and Yuzuki was delighted to hear it was a Fireworks Festival! Now that he thought about it, Westown had fireworks, but not for another season. He never really got to see them. It was getting dark already when he decided to join, and he realized he didn't know anything about this festival. Yuzuki decided to try his luck with finding a local to get more information. There were many people here, chances are some where outsiders like himself. "Excuse me, do you know if we'll be seeing the fireworks from here?" He asked a stranger with a well mannered smile. If it's in a different location, he'd be completely lost. Maybe he should ask where the stalls that offer dumplings are while he's at it, or if there are any...

Seaside Stranger [Yuzuki/Odette]
@odetogoodfood
The journey was the farthest he’s travelled since he was sent to the village. On the ship, he fixed his hair up to the bun in the stronger winds, and he was thankful for it now as heat prickled at his neck. Perhaps he should’ve worn something more cool. An island unknown to him called Fenith Island greeted him with humidity and the salty sea air. At the same time, it reminded him of the warmth of Lulukoko, complimented by the rustle of the waves and sweet shaved ice at lunch time. It wasn’t entirely unwelcome, Yuzuki did like the change of scenery. Plus new places often refreshed him and brought new sources of inspiration.Â
Off the ship, he looked up at the ascending trail above him. He’d be staying on the island for a while, so he resisted wandering around the port and its shops for now. The island was surprisingly mountainous, with light-colored buildings taking the edges, providing everyone a seaside view. It followed him as he took towards a dense part of the town. He was glad that the weather didn’t weigh down on him too bad, proof of his greatly-improved stamina. Personally, he was grateful beyond words that his health now allowed him to see such a grand sight, showing that his own perseverance brought him here. He may have gotten a bit distracted watching the endless ocean beyond him, he almost forgot why he was here.Â
Yuzuki received a series of letters from a trading partner recently, one who was eternally grateful for his generosity and patience and hoped t reward him regardless of hoe many times he turned them down. They spoke of a family, the Fenith De Sainte Coquille family, who hit financial trouble and had been selling their possessions to stay afloat. The jeweler was by no means rich with few connections between miners and stylists-but they were close connections. He was used to more local connections, but he wasn’t one to deny traveling and making more connections. And often good connections came from good intentions. He winced a bit, he couldn’t believe that he’d make a tremendous dent in their debts, but it felt like the right thing to do.Â
But he put the worry aside for now and kept the smile on his face as he returned to reaching the town. He searched for an inn so he’d be able to rest and sort his thoughts. He looked up to spot a sign naming the Three Sisters Inn among the white buildings. Yuzuki pushed through the doors to see a dining area int he forefront of the inn. Above all, it reminded that he hasn’t eaten in a while. He approached the woman behind the counter of the establishment, customs from home having him bow politely in greeting.
“Good morning, is there a room available here for a few nights?” He asked, wiping the sweat from his brow. Though he wasn’t too winded form being outside, it didn’t mean it wasn’t hot today. “This island is absolutely beautiful, it’s almost magical.” He muttered out loud, awe in his tone.

Yuzuki was thankful that the journey didn’t seem as harsh as people made it out to be. He’d feel silly if he so much as got lost as opposed to collapsing at some point, he had insisted he was fine going alone. The Trade Depot in Oak Tree Town was more central than available back home, while also providing more variety for the jeweler. He wasn’t sure whether the mining would better than having it next door in Westown, but it didn’t hurt to find out. He’d need something to eat soon...
Walking by a crossroad, he heard someone call out to him. He stopped walking and turned to see a woman facing him from the distance. Was she a local? The way she dressed reminded him a bit of the farmers back home, but she looked younger. He turned toward her, readjusting the satchel he carried with him on his shoulder, as if his stark difference in clothing didn’t indicate that he was an outsider. At her question, he pursued his lips for a moment. There were some wild rabbits he’s seen in this town, but fluffy grey bunnies?
“Ah, angora rabbits?” Yuzuki perked up as he remembered the breed, they were sold by merchants back home, often to farmers. He always thought they were adorable. He faced the woman and shook his head, brushing his hair out of his face. “I’m sorry, I haven’t. I just arrived here.” He replied, but it felt impolite to leave it at that. It sounded like she lost them, and he had no reason not to offer his help.
“But, would you like help? I don’t know my way around, but I can at least provide an extra pair of eyes.” He offered, giving the woman a smile.Â
Runaway
Minori never understood why it was some of her animals chose to runaway. In fact, every night she was sure she locked up the coops and barns, and yet at least once a month, one of her animals would manage to escape and end up goddess knows where within the town. She fed them, brushed them, even gave them plenty of treats and play time; but still they managed to runaway as though it were a game of hide and seek.
And boy were they good at hiding.
She let out an exasperated sigh, exhausted after looking for the last few hours. Two had managed to escape this time, not surprised as the pair of rabbits always seemed to get into trouble together.
She just wanted to give up, but honestly knew she couldn’t until she found them and hopefully before something else did first.
“Hey-” she called out to someone she spotted in the distance, “have you seen two fluffy, grey bunnies around here?”
