Facebook Live
Facebook Live is a social media application that allows the user to stream real time video footage. People regularly record videos and post them on Youtube and they also stream video on applications such as Twitch and Mixer. Facebook allows the user to stream from their mobile device to their social media page. They can set up notifications to let their followers know when they are going to broadcast. The user can also read incoming messages and base their broadcast off of what is being said.
Trends to come:
The trends that I think will come of this product is interactive talk shows. Talk Radio has been fairly popular for years. This will possibly become Talk Video. Twitch and Mixer were already out there as a product that allows the user to stream from their homes. This product will allow streaming from anywhere there is a signal. Real time action shows, live stream tours, really just about any kind of video live. The first thing that comes to mind is a live stream cooking show that takes questions while they cook dinner. Get home at 4:00 PM log in at 5:00 PM and join the live stream cooking show to cook dinner. The hard part would be answering all questions, if the show became popular it might even become impossible to answer all questions. It is interactive reality television, and while I personally don’t care much for reality television it is popular.
My thoughts:
I could not see myself using this program unless it was to send a message to a family member, or a friend. I do not see a personal need for this product. I can see a ton of potential uses for this product however. It could even be used for security and spying on someone. Leave a device live streaming and see what happens while your not there. I want to add that in the State of Tennessee, which I reside. It can be considered illegal to record someone without their knowledge and consent, it is somewhat situational. I do not know about live streaming
