Evaluation of FMP
My project is a  5 minute crypto currency documentary and two of us worked on this project together. Ollie was the director for this project and we shared the other roles pretty evenly so that we could both have a lot of input to how the film was created. While researching i evaluated 3 documentary's and this helped us because it inspired the professional style we wanted to achieve, 1 of the documentary’s i evaluated gave me a lot of ideas and techniques i could use, for example we took multiple angles of Ollie talking for one of the interviews so that the film had more variation, and another technique we used from the evaluation was tagging the names on the bottom of the screen so that people know who they are being talked to by. We also constructed a questionnaire and concluded the results by putting them into percentages and evaluating the results. Our idea was mainly inspired by a CMS cooperate video, we liked this because the video we watched is visually pleasing and appealing because of how sleek and smart all of the shots are. The reason we chose to make a documentary about crypto currency is because Ollie recently got into day trading bitcoin and he felt like its important for beginners in the market to understand what they could be getting themselves into. I think this was a excellent idea because of the growing popularity in crypto currency and the lack of base knowledge out there for people who haven't done any research. Our Filming schedule was easy to plan because me and Ollie agreed to meet at 10 am on all filming days and we usually finished by 1PM. We had to contact 2 places to use their property to film, one of the rooms was in college and we booked out the room from the reception on the day,. The other place we filmed was a Large house with a nice stone driveway we emailed them and didn’t receive a second reply when we was confirming the date to film at their property so on the day we headed to the property and knocked on the door to get permission. We had to contact 3 people and ask them to be in our film. All of the people were polite and willing to be on camera which was a good result. Overall i believe the project was a success even tho there are small details i would like to improve. The montage in the documentary is sleek and cool, and the interviews look professional and natural and these are the main qualities we was aiming to achieve from the beginning of the project. In future if i make another documentary i think i would prefer to have a larger team so that filming processes would become easier for me if we had more people using each piece of equipment rather than just two of us. I think i would also work to improve my storyboards for filming days, this would’ve helped structure our shots much better and give us a better idea of how many shots we would need if we wanted to make a film at a specific length.

This is my experimental research because my last post and video about color grading was removed from YouTube. This is a shot from our documentary which i thought needed to look more sleek, i wanted the car to look as clean and appealing as possible and these are two before and after photos of what i did to change the look of the shots. I wanted the car to look more shiny and clean in the sun to make the effect as if the car was gleaming in the sun, i chose to make it look shiner because shiny metallic colors usually has a connotation with wealth when they are attached to items that are pricey and expensive, for example; Cars,Watches and other jewelry. I think small details like this have huge effects on the audience and i believe color grading all of our clips to make them suit the professional look we are trying to achieve is more than necessary for our project.

17/5/18 Production day On this day we met with Amanda at a house that we got permission to film at, we used their driveway and view of their house to help keep the upmarket feel of our documentary. I feel like this location was a excellent choice for the project and it worked really well with Amandas Jaguar, we was also lucky to have good weather on this day and it made the look of these shots so great because they were naturally well lit, this made the shots on this day extremely good and most of the footage we took of the interview and the B roll footage ended up looking very high definition and professional. During the filming process i took a lot of photos, including recce shots of the place we was filming. For the day we used the c100 cannon cameras we booked from the college and for sound we used a boom mic. We didn't need any lighting for this project because the natural light from the weather was really good. Firstly we filmed the interview so we could position the car in a way that prevented us from capturing the house number so that our audience wouldn't know where we were filming. The interview went really well and Amanda was a natural infront of the camera, at first she seemed slightly anxious but once we got into the process of filming and she got more familiar with it, she really did a good job with her delivery and attitude infront of the camera, this is important because it is another feature of the documentary that helps it have a professional feel. In my opinion this was our best day filming and the results of all the footage made me quite proud of our work. If me and Ollie was to go through this process again we would take more B roll footage of the area and make sure we had a glide rail like we did for the last day of filming we did with Luke on the 10th of may.

Production day:10/5/18 On this day we filmed our other crypto currency expert and took some B roll footage with the glide rail of the room we had booked to film in. we used the seminar room at the college for this day so we could make sure the surroundings of our expert looked professional and good around him. On this day we again used the c100 cannon cameras but this time we had more equiptment, we used a boom pole for the sound which made our audio better for this scene. at the start of the day we took our equiptment to the seminar room and started to assemble the tripod and glide rail so we could take some cool B roll footage of the nice room. After we took B roll we reset up the camera to a different tripod and put away the glide rail so we could start filming our crypto expert. The filming of the expert went excellent and we managed to get really good information from him for our beginners, it seemed like our second expert was more experienced in the market than our first expert and he was able to provide us with more information and insight which is perfect for our beginners, he even provided us with some inspiration to get into cryptocurrency. This day so far has been our best day filming cause I believe the shots and info we got out of this day are going to be vital to the documentary.

Production day: 23/04/18 These are shots from our day filming with one of our bit currency experts, We had him dress formal to keep the upmarket and professional feeling of the documentary. For this day we wasn't able to book any lighting so we used natural light from the room and used a phone LED to remove shadows from one side of Luke's face, This was a successful day filming and we managed to get a huge amount of shots that we can use and choose from. Lukes information was well thought out and I think it is perfectly suited for the target audience of the documentary which is beginners. We placed two monitors with a Cryptocurrency trading platform on the screens to allow the audience a visual of what the world of crypto will look like if they get into it after watching our documentary. We used the c100 cannon cameras again and we also used the on board mics on the cameras for these shots. While we filmed these shots we were in a classroom at thee college with our teachers around seeing what we were doing and they seemed impressed with our work. On this day we didn't bump into many issues and the filming process was pretty straight forward, allowed Luke to talk and cut the footage if we needed to and retook some shots or sentences he said if he pronounced them wrong. We didn't take any shots or B roll footage on this day.

These are shots from our filming day, the day was extremely successful, we got great shots of Ollies room for the montage and also got a professional feeling interview. We had a problem with the boom pole mic so we decided to use the onboard camera mic which still turned out good because we was in a quiet room, although I think the boom pole audio would've been better we didn't manage to get it working, when we returned to the college with the equipment we booked, Tim, the technician explained to us what we had done wrong to stop the boom pole from working, we had accidentally changed a setting that was meant to be kept the same as it originally was set for the boom pole to work with the camera correctly, the problem we had is that the boom pole would only record audio on the right hand side. The setting would have been to switch to external mic and include left and right audio in the settings menu of the camera rather than the switches on the side. We took multiple shots from different angles and reshot parts of the interview if noise was an issue or if Ollie wanted to alter his responses as some of the interview was improvised, but not entirely. We wanted to make the interview feel real and look real which is what we achieved and it worked out well this way because improvising helped deliver the genuine feel of the footage. The interview is clear and precise with god points and information to keep our audience drawn in, also the responses are the real opinions from Ollie that made the interview and questions feel natural to deliver. 1 photo is of me on the scene of the interview to show off where we are filming from a wider angle. Another photo is a close up of the camera we were using to shoot this scene. Brand:Cannon and the other 2 photos is Ollie double checking our settings for the camera set up, sometimes it came out of focus so we kept making sure it was adjusted correctly to keep the high quality feeling of the documentary.

CMS law - Corporate video
https://youtu.be/jBT_zwaD0Mc I am planning on taking some inspiration from this video because it has an excellent corporate feel and it fits the image we are trying to achieve. What I am trying to achieve is a sleek and professional documentary that includes montages of attractive clips and atmospheric sounds combined to create a smooth and easy to watch final project. I will achieve this through the use of edit, by including quick cuts, slow motion, colour grading and transitions. I chose this because it has good example of shots and techniques that fit nicely, one of the techniques is stop motion and another is slow-motion, these techniques are useful when you are trying to create a specific atmosphere of professionalism. For example, we want to create a corporate style documentary, and to do this I will also use very similar techniques represented in this film by using the aforementioned techniques I like this video a lot because it is flashy, it seems to display a lot of wealth while still advertising the law company, I think this display of wealth gives the impression of importance to the law company and that is what we want to use as inspiration, we want to present our information as important and appealing.

Questionaire
Do you think you may be interested in finding out about this specific topic?
Most people said that they want to learn more about it as they are not very knowledgeable on what bitcoin and crypto is. The statistics for this question was 60% of 20 people asked said they would be interested.
Would you be interested in watching a documentary about cryptocurrency?
This question is pretty similar to the previous thing we asked prior. However because we asked it in a more specific way, the response was more solid when it comes to the statistic we received, we had 80% of people say they would be interested about watching a documentary about crypto.
Do you already know about bitcoin and its counterparts?
Surprisingly the response was really scarce when it came to what we were expecting. Almost everyone we asked had only heard of bitcoin but no-one knew what it is about or what it is for. So the statistic recorded for this was only a mere 5% of the 20 people we asked already knew about bitcoin and its counterparts.
Do you like a corporate approach to documentaries?
Many people didn’t know what we meant by this question so when they asked what it meant, I explained it to them. Most people after being explained said they liked this new different approach to the documentary style. 75% of people liked this style of film.
Do you like usage of Cinematic shots?
This also had a very similar reaction to the previous question I asked. People wanted to know what I meant by Cinematic shots. After it being explained. The response we got was average with 50% of people saying that they liked it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQtkbQkURCI I liked the scene with the cloud slitting a moon like a knife that was used to represent the woman's eye getting cut, I think these to clips merged well.

Final project: Cryptocurrency
For the final project me and Ollie are creating a documentary on cryptocurrency, we are hopefully going to provide enough information on them so that people who are new to cryptocurrency can have a better understanding before they think about investing or spending their money on them. Our main aim for this is to help spread knowledge about cryptocurrency while also trying to keep people safe if they decide to get involved themselves. Ollie is the director for this project and I am going to be the editor, as there is only two of us, all other roles will be shared between us.

300 recreation stock footage
https://youtu.be/gvH3AOE_6pk This is some stock footage I pulled of the internet so that I could attempt to make it look similar to the film 300. I achieved this by watching a Photoshop tutorial and applying what I learned about the choice of colours and grading to the effects in adobe premiere. to achieve this I moved the colour scales closer to the yellow section and then turned up the sharpness on the clip.
