heyy what are some of your cady x regina headcanons?

here’s how i imagine they got together

-cady didn’t mean to fall in love with regina george

-it just kind of… happened

-she liked aaron a lot, but he was at college, and she didn’t get to see him much, and honestly did they really thing “like” was good enough to make long distance work?

-still she felt so guilty

-it’s not like she was cheating. but she was emotionally cheating wasn’t she?

-(although, it’s not exactly her fault, regina had been craftily pulling out all the stops since aaron had left. she may not be the HBIC anymore but she still had a bit of a manipulative, jealous streak, and she had been in love with cady since last year)

-(but once she noticed how down cady was, it was like a wake up call. she started to back off a bit, flirt less. but she couldn’t help being cute and sweet and thoughtful around cady)

-this made it worse. it was so much worse to see cute, sweet, thoughtful regina when everyone else got a powerful blonde in tight pants who was just a couple of compliments away from overdosing on self confidence

-and it wasn’t like she wasn’t those things with cady. she was just… more. and sometimes she wore sweatpants

-there was this one time one of the jock dickheads (not to be confused with the nice jocks) was picking on kevin and tripped him into cady, and he dumped his lunch on her shirt when she had a presentation in AP Bio during her next block. and regina *fucking* george gave cady her shirt to wear and wore the gross, spaghetti stained for the rest of the day (AP Bio is a double blocked class)

-it meant so much to cady, knowing how regina felt about fashion. and although she was loathe to admit it, it did make it easier for regina to know she was wearing cady’s shirt, spaghetti stain be damned

-so yeah. emotional cheating. it was eating cady up. but she couldn’t just break up with aaron over text, and it felt wrong to dump him when he was so excited to see her. 

-but aaron noticed.

-he noticed it in the way cady talked about regina, the way her eyes lit up when he brought her up, the way she stared at her when they all hung out

-and he was totally cool and understanding about it. predictably so. he pushed cady to go for it, and he continued to be her friend even though they were broken up. he’s a really chill guy when you don’t cheat on him.

-so cady had to go for it. she and aaron were broken up so there was no reason not to. god she was so nervous.

-she went to regina’s house the next day. she was going to tell her about the break up and then work her way up to the whole “i’ve kind of fallen in love with you” thing. but she never got the chance to work her way up. as soon as the news about her and aaron left her lips, regina let out a “hell yes” and pulled her in for a kiss. 

-if you had told cady it was going to happen, she would’ve thought she’d be surprised and stiff at first before eventually relaxing into it. instead, it was like she had known it was going to happen all along. she kissed regina back, matching her pace perfectly, scooting her chair back from the kitchen table and pulling regina into her lap

-afterwards, regina made her popcorn and mixed fruit smile gummies into it, cady’s favorite snack, and they watched season three of pretty little liars, their guilty pleasure show

-aaron texted her that night to see how it went. he got a very enthusiastic emoji filled response
