People trying to pathologize like eating sweets and jerking off is wild. "I stopped doing this thing that feels good and I want more now ?? So this is an addiction and I have to keep avoiding it until the craving goes away" no you just want to enjoy things because you're a human being. Chocolate and porn and whatever aren't, like. Meth. It won't kill you to feel good. You don't have to be a medieval monk

my blood spills out, bright and impersonal,
I think illness has settled too deeply in me, like an earth,
like a loveless animal, terror freezes me and I remember the
buzzing of insects, the starvation of middle sea, the ways in which
I forget so many of my own lived hours, the hours of pages or
words or elsewhere entirely

Sometimes I really wish he were just mean through and through. Evil is easy to hate, but broken… broken can love and be loved.

Hi CT! A while ago you mentioned how you once trained yourself in a kind of writing where you start going and just don't stop. I forget other details, but I was wondering if you could talk more about it.
What is this writing technique? How is it practiced? And do you have any tips for those who want to start doing it?
Automatic writing! It originally started as an esoteric method, but now it's just a pretty normal writing warm up. Basically, you just write, no stopping, no backspaces. Its an excellent way to build confidence. You know what they say, all writing is rewriting. Automatic writing is a great way to train up the base quality of your first drafts.
What's funny is that's basically how I was trained to write. I can crank out some insanely high daily word counts if I need to. After years of practice, my first drafts are faster and higher quality than most authors 3rd.
Though, it really is just a way to turn out junk and iterate on it faster than most authors. It makes me really good at producing solid C+ work, but it still takes me just as long to make A+ work.

Sometimes I think that if someone cut me open, the words would really be there. Like a whale that consumed too much garbage, and now her body is nothing but a time capsule for all the things humans throw away.

Love like a Lake
My love is like a lake.
It knows its place, never moving,
ever nurturing in your sleep and your wake.
The lake sees your love when you look back
and knows you're the sky—
it welcomes your thunders and cries.
My love, like the lake, you'll only find my arms
spreading when the earth shakes; when it rains or storms,
you'll see me welcoming you all the more.
Because just like the lake, you are my earth;
I exist with you to create
and make a home for what you make,
to show kindness and unmoving love.

I know now that the last is never true. It will happen again. And he probably does love us, but it’s never been enough to make him stop. Instead, it makes it worse— his love for us. And ours for him. It makes it impossible to leave.
