17. Talk about your writing and editing process

It’s complicated. Essentially I write a fic in 3 main different ways

1. Chronologically - I’m determined and the fic will be finished fast. I’m writing everything scene by scene and I will edit right after then leave it for a day or two and do the final edit.

2. Dialogue - I have fooled myself into believing I can write the dialogue for now and fill in the rest later cause the rest is already written in my head and I’m too lazy to write it down. The fic will get finished in 2 months

3. EEAAO - I am writing 6 different scenes in the same fic at once and I am about to jump of a bridge. The fic is never getting finished

Now when I write I am usually very close to what I will actually publish so editing isn’t much work and I actually hate it quite a bit cause reading my fresh work is so cringe to me. So I try to write it correct the first time. A good example though of unedited vs edited would be this from my last fic:

18. If you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic

The words are secret, vulnerable, only for Dominik to hear. In this bubble, if Dominik rejects him, Trent would be able to bear it. Break it into pieces and discard to ensure no further revisiting of the matter. If Dominik rejects him now, Trent would understand because Dominik always has a way with words that makes even rejection feel like acceptance.

This is from my first Domitrent fic which I painstakingly wrote 8.5k for before deciding it wasn’t good enough and packing far away where I could not find it. Now technically this fic is in fact published in the form of Its Beyond Faith. It’s Beyond Faith is mostly written from scratch but there’s huge scenes that were literally lifted directly from this first domitrent and pasted directly into that fic. Most notably the whole bookshelf scene up till they sit on the sofa. That was about 1.5k I had ultimately decided to never look at again but now looking at the rest of the fic, I feel good about it and I might actually finally finish the original fic

29. How easy is it for you to come up with titles?

Impossible. I give up and throw a dart in the dark

Hm I need you to hold my hand rn and take a deep and calming breath with me. It's going to be okay.

It obviously sucks what happened but also it happens all the time with managers and players. It's just that if it did happen, when it came to Klopp, we'd just never find out about it cause he kept it behind closed doors.

I think it was kind of bound to happen. Disagreements increasing as the season comes to an end and especially with Klopp leaving and the future of the team still undecided.

It's entirely terrible though still on Mo's part to argue with Klopp like that in his last few games. But on the other hand liverpool fans are also insane and wanting to sell him cause of one bad spell after 7 years of loyalty is crazy. And as we now know, he's not going anywhere.

Yeah the teams kinda cooked rn but it was a rebuild season and we did crazy stuff for a team that wasn't technically supposed to come this far with an almost entirely new squad. Things will eventually get better. What matters now is not to lose our heads over one drop of bad in an ocean of good. Shit happens yeah🤷‍♀️

Football is just a constant stream of "it's so over" "it's so back" "let's blow up the stadium and end football" "we're the best team in the world". If there's no "it's so over", then the "it's so back" won't be appreciated enough. Just enjoy the ride and the UCL spot and the fact that we still have Mo and had the chance to call Jurgen a red

5. First sentence of the fifth paragraph of an unpublished WIP

Trent would think about the potted plant that his mother had bought him to liven his place up - now perched on his kitchen windowsill for sunlight - about how he’d been putting off watering it for the last two weeks and finally about how Dominik had been the one to point out his plant was dying.

This is from a wip I honestly forgot I had. It’s not even a wip actually. I think the whole fic is finished except the last page??? I haven’t opened it since February idk why I’d convinced myself the fic was bad. This is cute as hell

14. Where do you get your inspiration?

Honestly a lot is from you. Your amazing thoughts and ideas feel my thoughts and ideas and next thing I know I’m already 4k deep into a new wip. I also read a lot of poetry and look at pretty pictures and watch cool movies which I sort of narrate/describe in my head the way I’d write them so it’s like active writing practice. But yeah ultimately I think a lot of it is you (and Lacey of course🤭)

16. Favorite place to write

My bed cause it’s warm. Outside in the sun is nice but it just makes me sleepy instead then I get nothing done :( pacing in the kitchen isn’t my fave but it gets the job done fast for some reason

Friends to lovers and also childhood friends to lovers. Obsessed!!! Although I think I’ve always been into that. Very much so back in my hurt/comfort bag though so will be seeing more of that soon

Idk if this is posted or unposted?

Posted it would have to be It’s Beyond Faith simply because I think it’s my most beautifully written fic in terms of love/romance. And on the flip side I’d also choose Invincible because it’s just so depraved not necessarily in the events but the way I described it. Probably one of my best written smuts (cringe) but yeah.

Unposted it would probably be between my Vampire domitrent which at this rate looks like it will never be posted and 5+1 Jude/Trent fic which I’ve surprisingly written something for every chapter

Currently exploring Andy’s POV in two different wips. It’s strange. I don’t think I’ve written any fics from his POV but it’s nice. A little hard to nail cause I am nowhere near as extroverted and funny (and Scottish) as him but imma make it work. Having so much fun with it 🫶

Probably for my Virgil/Trent/Jude one. Which I technically have promised to write a part two for and am currently writing but the part that’s out also doubles as a standalone fic so really I could just not write the part 2 but yes I’ve already started on it and I can’t wait to finish it eventually

3. How you feel about your current WIP

Well I have several WIPs disease so I have sooooo many wips I’m working on at any given moment in time. However, my most recent wip is a fullback friends hurt/comfort fic and I’m afraid to say I don’t think I can write it. In a bit of a writing slump so I’m very here for the idea but my brains very switched off when I try to put it to paper. My other wip is unorthodox which I’m VERY!!! excited about. Hot shit, whiny people and unconventional anger management methods. It’s gonna be good promise🥰

22. Do you ever worry about public reaction to what you're writing? how do you get past that?

Uuuh yes kinda. I hate all my fics the day I publish them cause I get sick of the words so I’m always concerned it’s not hot. I know Fluorescence kinda and Taking Things Slow especially. I still think the second one is bad cause I haven’t read it yet but one day I eventually will. I get past it by posting and forgetting I ever wrote the fic. I also think that one domitrent sick fic is super cringe so I haven’t read it even though I posted it last year I think. Maybe I will one day but yeah always worry about writing cringe stuff
