Knives out is such a great song because after the second chorus, when the guitars are put into focus again, you can clearly hear how the instrumentation itself plays into the themes of a broken relationship. There are two simultaneous guitars playing in the song, and they fall in and out of sync with each other throughout that instrumental part, like two people who keep coming close but can never reconnect. It’s great.

Something many Radiohead fans aren’t ready to accept is that at least a few of their earlier songs were heavily drug influenced but nobody ever suspects Thom is high because he acts like he’s tweaking 24/7
