Something I am VERY interested to see in The Marvels is how they handle what are sure to be two incredibly different attitudes aimed at Carol. You have Kamala, who is literally Captain Marvel’s biggest fan and will be meeting/working alongside her idol. And then you have Monica, who knew her as Aunt Carol the person before she was a superhero and loved her. But, as we saw in WandaVision, Monica seems to have very conflicted feelings about Carol. Probably because of her long absences, but it is also entirely possible that Carol got to be by Maria’s side and say goodbye while Monica was blipped and Monica understandably resents her for that. 

So I’m wondering if there will be a bit of everyone having to come to terms with their own shortcomings and strengths. AND APOLOGIES AND BONDING!!

These are three amazing characters and they’re all such vibrant, strong, complex women and they all LOOK DIFFERENT and I’m so excited to see what kind of story Nia DaCosta gives us!

Craig and Neil were absolutely insane for having Joel, having just learned his bother is going to be a father, leave and see an adult woman in the crowd who looks just like his daughter, and for a moment seeing how she could have grown up, and then seeing that woman go up to her own daughter, because if Sarah had lived she would have been in her mid 30s, and Joel could have been a grandfather.

and for a moment, just a moment, you can see the look on Joel’s face where he forgets its not Sarah

daily reminder how much yours truly is going to violently shake and sob at 2am while watching this and hearing whatever bullshit score gustavos created this time to absolutely rip my heart strings out fiber by fiber while I watch Joel close his eyes while hugging her as she cries into his chest and wraps her arms around his neck

and how I will be completely inconsolable watching them make camp and try to help with each others pains while ignoring their own

And how I will shut my laptop and stare at my wall breathlessly while tears dry on my face because I won’t even have the strength to wipe them away after watching Ellie grab his hand while she thinks he’s dying and he grab hers when they’re approached by Jackson’s men but he thinks it’s danger and so he does it instinctively to protect her
