       mechanical hand on her hip, the organic hand runs through the bangs that stick to her forehead, an attempt to gather her nerve for her confrontation with her comrade. when giving others a piece of her mind, gaige had no problem with beating them with the receiving end of her reality-check stick ; with ekko...

       why did it make her heart sink when the thought of bringing guilt to his face entered her mind ?

       pushing that anxiety aside, the redhead intakes a breath through her nose, a long, annoyed sigh following after. 

  ❝ look, you’re a lot of things, but you’re not subtle. even when i’ve specifically told you not to, i know when you’ve shifted time. ❞ emerald greens look over at the other with an aggressive, but familiar intensity. “ when i talk to you, i just-- i just-- ❞

       hands begin to motion wildly, as if trying to reel her words from her mind & out of her mouth, into the harsh openness. words begin falling from her lips at a faster pace, as if her confession was the solution to a ticking time bomb that is her white-haired comrade.

  ❝ aside from witty comebacks, it doesn’t feel like i’m talking to a person. like-- it’s like, you’ve gone back & loaded in a save file before some important interaction & you just-- ❞ hands come together in a prayer-like fashion. another quick intake of breath, her quickened speech continuing.

  ❝ i get that you have good intentions, i know that your gadget has saved many asses, whether they’re deserving or not. but when you use it so you can tell me what i need to hear, or to avoid hurting my feelings, it.. doesn’t feel real. it feels rehearsed, like some game.. that shit makes me uncomfortable as hell, man... ❞

   ❝ … no. i got this. ❞  is she being an ass ? yes, but she doubts he’s going rephrase his question because he hurt her feelings. it wasn’t the actual question that made her pause & turn to him with perplexed irritation, but the way he said it rubbed her the wrong way.

       tugging the long sleeve of her jumpsuit, she rubs her reddened nose as her blackened eye still streams with tears ; not ones of sadness, but ones of anger. she should have been able to handle herself, what with her cool multi-purpose mech-arm & all. she should have called for help if she needed it, & she definitely did…

       the guy was so much taller than her, wider, heavier.. nearly choked her to death over what little salvaged scrap she had. it was pathetic, how a grown-ass adult had to jump a kid to feel powerful to any extent. when ekko saw like this when gaige first walked in, he looked like he was going to shoot lasers of anger from his eyes. now, sitting in her desk chair with bitter mood, a black eye, split lip, & aching torso, she can’t help but let her pride take over to hide the shame in not being able to defend herself. 

 ❝ i’ll take care of it, trust me.❞

Girl power to me means being brave enough to take that first step and to speak out and be yourself. In this world, there are so many things going on and you always want to help with so many different causes, or there are so many things telling you no, but be the one ‘Yes’ in this world. Be the light and stand up and speak out. Have that bravery and people will be there to join you.
