PUSH | a peer pressure Short Film | Christelle Chalupa

This is a short film that I found while searching for cases for my project proposal. I really liked the approach this video takes as it follows a kid who has been peer pressured and pushed into a different kind of life.

I think that this video gives off a raw and real understanding of what young people go through when being peer pressured into things by their friends. I like the cinematography and the overall lighting that is used to emphasize the whole aesthetic of the situation.

Finding out who this impacts

Since doing research on finding out how peer pressure affects people in New Zealand I have found that

"Ministry of Health figures released last year showed 56 percent of underage teenagers had at least one drink in the previous 12 months"

(from the article "'Senseless' peer pressure driving kids to drink")

Even though this number has decreased over time it is more fatal for teens and can cause serious accidents as stated in the article.
