PROMPT 4 RESPONSE
Tumblr media
This image is of a reading program at my placement school. I really liked the program because it helped the students identify sounds which helped them sound out words (the students were in the foundation level). The students engaging in the activities that improved their reading and writing skills. When reading or writing, the students would often think back to their sound waves chart to help when sounding out words. This helps with both reading and writing.

PROMPT 3 RESPONSE

The ways that I have made meaning from text in the last week include text messages, email, Facebook messaging, reading the sports section of the newspaper and many more. There are many ways that I make meaning from text. There are a lot of ways to make meaning from text online and through social media. Readers make meaning of a text in different ways, I make meaning from text based on my interests.

PROMPT 2 REFLECTION
Tumblr media
Week Two reflection
I have been told to never judge a book by its cover… but if I had to I would predict that the novel ‘Are You Seeing Me’ written by Darren Groth is a spooky story about an evil octopus. My predictions are based on the colours and illustrations used on the front cover. The illustrations suggest that there is some sort of monster (looks like an octopus) that could be attacking the car. The only way to know if my prediction is correct would be to read the book, so who knows.

ECL310 PROMPT 1
I am finding it difficult to remember being read to in school. I can recall the school library, I used to love sitting on the comfy couches and reading the Guinness World Records with friends. The first memory of reading with my parents was when my Dad and I read the fictional novel ‘Specky Magee’ written by Felice Arena and Garry Lyon. I really enjoyed reading the story because I loved footy. I liked the story because it brought Dad and I closer through our love of football.
When I have the chance, I am looking forward to reading to students. I will hopefully leave a memorable reading experience with them. I enjoy reading to students because they are always so engaged and interested in what is happening in the story.
