If only...

Saw her at the altar, wearing that white dress. God, she’s beautiful. Seeing her so gorgeous reminded me of all our memories. Our nights out, her looking so beautiful dancing, laughing and having fun. The road trips, from one city to another, we were so crazy! Okay, back to the present… she’s walking, holding her parents’ hands. Our eyes meet, and a tear escapes my eye, me not even noticing. She smiles at me, and hold my hands. “Hey, stop crying! My dream has finally come true!,” she says. It is true. It has always been her dream to marry the person she loves. I’ve always encouraged her to mingle with people, and she did, but always ended up getting heartbroken. I can’t even count how many times have she cried on my shoulder and ranted about her exes, haha.  All those little things made me realize, I knew I was falling for her, and that fact was definitely getting harder to ignore. Her smile, her hugs, her comfort, it was perfect for me. She was perfect for me. She let go of my hands, and hugs me. I close my eyes and feel her presence. I knew I had hope in me, in her, and in us. This hope, that we’ll be the one getting married, have a family, die together, and have a happily ever after. Every second felt like an hour, but she finally lets go. She walks towards the altar, and looks at me once again. God, her smile still gives me the butterflies I felt 10 years ago. She holds my twin brother’s hand, and they both smile. The thought pops up in my head. “If only I had the courage… the courage to say that I fell in love with her, my best friend.”

“Masunod ka lamang, Oh pagibig.” <3
This song that I covered is the theme song for the legendary Filipino literary piece, “Florante at Laura” written by Francisco Balagtas. This song lets the two lovers in the story, Florante and Laura, express their feelings for each other.
