Packshot Images
Here is my first attempt at a packshot image. I think it turned out pretty good! There still has to be some optimisation done, but I'll do that in Friday's class

Today we messed around and added different layers, played with colour and tried to make our photos look older and more victorian. I really enjoyed learning about this stuff. It was pretty interesting

Packshots
A packshot is a still or moving image of a product, usually including its packaging and labeling, used to portray the product's reputation in advertising or other media. It is an important stimulus to sales, with the goal of triggering in-store, on-shelf product recognition.

The subject has turned her body to face the window and turned her face back towards the camera. She has quite a serious expression and is looking down at the ground. She is wearing a white shirt and has her hair down.

Packshot - Oat so Simple

The photos have been taken straight on, making sure all the product is getting enough light. I have 3 different flavours of the oats. I am going to stack them ontop of each other.

Chiaroscuro is a photography technique and style often referred to as “clair obscur” or “extreme low key”. While the term chiaroscuro originates from the Renaissance period and is often associated with painting or drawing, it has evolved into the photographic world and now often simply means strong and bold contrasts between light and dark areas in a photograph

For my portrait today I'm going to try to recreate this image. The subject will be sitting side on with her head turned. The lighting will be on the right side of her. I have brought in a necklace that looks like the one she has on in the photo

Packshot set ups
I really liked this idea of using the straws I'm advertising as the background. I would stick the straws onto a piece of cardboard and place the packaging in the middle of them all like in the photo above.

The straws I'm using are similar to the blue and red straws in the photo above.
I also have a smoothie and a cup to put it in. The smoothie has strawberries in it so I have some strawberries to place around the packshot as well.

These are my contact sheets from todays shoot. The first photos are from my bounce flash. The second photos are from my fill flash and the third photos are from using my modifier. Not all my photos from using my modifier saved. I think I may need to wipe my SD card as I think I have run out of space.
