In August 2020 I had a cycling crash that landed me in the hospital with no recollection of what caused the crash. In this short documentary, as the filmmaker and subject of the project, I attempt to document the timeline of events during this traumatic incident through the voices of the people who responded to the crash and helped me throughout my recovery journey.

Beyond Shelter is a documentary film that explores affordable housing options for formerly incarcerated mothers. By focusing on this aspect of reentry, it will become apparent to the audience that without access to affordable and safe housing: 1) a woman cannot find a stable place to live, 2) a woman cannot be reunited with her child/ren 3) a woman cannot obtain a job, 4) a woman cannot reintegrate into society successfully, creating a greater dependence on social services and a higher chance of recidivism.
