Es curioso regresar y leer las notas que escribí hace años.

Siempre que escribía algo aquí, es porque mi día a día me sobrepasaba, que me ahogaba al punto que tenia que desquitarme con algo, con las teclas, en este caso.

Ahora vuelvo y leo lo que escribí y, dios.. si que soy dramática aveces.

aunque, no es que no o sea actualmente.

a mis 23 años acabo de sufrir otro golpe en mi vida, mi abuelo ha muerto. Y si, quizá sea un “ay, pero es tu abuelito, ya estaba grande, era lo mejor, antes y vivió muchos años”.

¿Si? cuando tu padre es un idiota que solo sabe regar bebés por el mundo, cuando tu madre funge como ambos personajes, y en tu mente infante comienzas a odiar y menospreciar a los hombres, ese “abuelito” deja de ser solo uno más en la historia. Fue el padre que nunca tuve y siempre quise tener. 

Je, recuerdo cuando tenia 9 años, mi mama, su nuevo esposo y yo nos íbamos a mudar a otro lugar, y dejaríamos de ver a mis abuelos. Yo grite, pataleé y llore hasta cansarme por el miedo que tenia de no volver a ver a mis abuelos, a mi abuelito. Recuerdo que busque por toda la casa una imagen en la que estuviéramos el y yo juntos y tome una camisa de el, su perfume y bañe foto y camisa de este, esperaba que ese olor que tanto me recordaba a el pudiera preservarlo por siempre de ese modo, y que así no lo olvidaría nunca. 

muchas cosas sucedieron después de esto, y por supuesto que volvi a verlo, incluso viví con el hasta su muerte.

Es gracioso recordar, porque ahora que realmente se fue, no tengo ni su voz para recordarle, dejo de hablar un mes antes de su muerte, Dejo de abrir los ojos dos semanas antes de su muerte, dejo de escuchar una semana antes. Y deje de verlo dos días antes de su muerte. 

El estaba muerto desde hacía dos semanas, y nosotros solo lo estábamos obligando a quedarse. Que despreciables fuimos. 

Pero ya se rindió, ya decidió acabar, y ya se ha ido. Lo extrañaré siempre, abuelito. Lo voy a extrañar mucho.

How I made my Aradia horns

Okay so method is actually fairly cheap and relatively easy, all you need is a bit of creativity and patience.

  Before starting anything, let’s figure out what horns actually look like (no offence, Hussie, but in the nature they aren’t just smooth round tubes). Look for pictures of animals, in Aradia’s case the ram.

After spending a good amount of time studying the shape of the horns and drawing some sketches, I made a little model out of tinfoil to get a good feeling of the basic shape I wanted.

Now comes the part I will have a hard time explaining. You see I have no idea what any of these things are called Edit: I DO NOW. This is the core of my horns. It’s basically a collection of different things my dad put together for me. It’s made of a wall plug (screw anchor) fastened on a screw with washers and a nut to give something for the paper to hold onto. When you buy wall plugs they look sort of like this i think, then when you put it together you screw them together as tight as you can.

As you can see it’s a screw with some extra things on to give the horns something to get a hold of. The screw can be attached to my headband as pictured.

I’m beginning to run out of pictures now too, as I forgot to take more under the process, so I’m sorry about that, hope you’ll get the idea anyway.

Anyway I took some newspaper and tightly wrapped it around the left half of the core in the pictures, so I ended up with a paper ball where the screw was still sticking out. This would end up being the big end of the horn. Using newspaper, tape and occasionally tinfoil I just let the horn grow and take form. To get the basic shape just right will probably take a lot of effort and time, but the good thing about using paper, tinfoil and tape is that any mistake you make can be easily corrected.

Yep, that looks fine (and I look tired, because I am, so don’t look at that shoosh, move on!). Now a layer of tape all around to keep it all in place and then on to the other horn! Making the other side took even longer because it had to match the first side. To make it a bit easier to find the shape, I put on a wire and put the newspaper around it. This actually helped, so I would suggest doing so for both of the horns.

Phew, there we go! They are both really light weight and I am happy with the shape. The only problem I hadn’t thought of is that the damn second horn screwed itself out, like it kept falling down because of the distribution of the weight combined with the direction of the groove of the screw. >:C

Even today I haven’t been able to find a good solution to this problem, in the end because of time limits, we had to literally hot glue the damn thing to my wig. Not a method I would recommend, but it worked in the end!

Time for some texture! I put on a layer of polyfilla, using a spatula knife I somehow managed to make the lines horns have. It was quite a messy but fun job! Looking back, I think I should have gone with paper clay instead, as the polyfilla made the horns pretty heavy, but it worked anyway. 

After letting it dry, I sanded the sharpest edges and spray painted it all silver, then added a few shadows and darker areas using an old, dry pencil and some brown-black paint. Following the edges and such to make it seem more metal-like.
