Rationale for my final designs.

Although I struggled with this paper I learnt a lot about different perspectives of creating characters and illustrations.

Finishing the 3 poses of my hero character

Continuing to play with colour. I have decided to stick to warm oranges and reds mostly. Emphasising the colour of the peach through animals that represent Atlanta in such a strong aspect.

Continue to play with colour. Have included the peach on the flag as it is iconic to georgia.

Beginning of playing with colour palettes and what kind of style im aiming for.

Final ideas, begin to play with colour and animation. Will I use athlete features or keep simple? Focus more on colpur representation? More to play with

Famous Landscapes or atlanta traditions

The atlanta city skyline or even the peach drop is something which i think could be interesting to include in my design and i plan to further explore a develope these ideas. I think these would give more depth to my characters and feel more personal for the people of Atlanta Georgia.

Absent for zoo trip

I was not present for the zoo trip I emailed in as to why however have not heard back. I have just continued to work on my ideas.

Refining Ideas

After playing with the silhouettes and a few sketches of ideas I have decided to refine what each character representative will feature.

For example

Male athlete:

I want the male athlete to have a masculine build however after playing with the hawk so much I would like to focus on the shape and features of hawks. This including the colours of both the atlanta flag and the olympic rings.

Female athlete: 

For the female athlete I have decided to go for the fox, this being because the fox studios is one of atlantas most iconic building. I also thing the shape of the fox can represent a female athlete well with the build they withhold and how almost smooth they can be. Foxes along with Hawks are a native animal or Atlanta Georgia.

A tiger swallowtail butterfly is another creature which is rather beautiful which I could explore. 

Supporter:

For the supporter I wanted to focus on something more friendly. Such as the beaver another native animal of Atlanta georgia. I want the supporters to look more friendly over focussed, enthusiastic as such. Potentially even visit back to the idea of birds and include the supporters to be something such as robins or parakeets.

Paralympian:

Could perhaps even be the Paralympian that is based on the butterfly. One that is so unique and transforms from caterpillar to butterfly something which is inspiring.

These are just some of my main ideas which I would like to explore further.
