Historical site featuring the ruins of a refuge for British citizens during the Revolt of 1857. . It was constructed during the rule of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan II, who was the fifth Nawab of the province of Awadh. Construction took place between 1780 and 1800 AD. Between 1 July 1857 and 17 November 1857 the Residency was subject to the Siege of Lucknow, part of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The Residency now exists as ruins. . I really love the stories behind old architectural designs in the cities. These places or monuments served for the greater good and we should know why they are important to be seen or to be learned about. Although its all ruins but it was a beautiful site for me. @vedant_137 told me almost every thing about its history and the rest i searched from the net. This park is highly maintained with a perfect spot for a photowalk for lucknow people. You can come in the morning , can see elder generation walking around doing recreational activities and the air is way better than the delhi's. I visited lucknow at a perfect time. March is maybe the month to go there. Cause there is not summers yet and winters are also going! Imambara is a shrine built by Shia Muslims for the purpose of Azadari.The Bara Imambara is among the grandest buildings of Lucknow. The monument also includes the large Asfi Mosque, the Bhul Bhulaiya (the labyrinth), and Bowli, a step well with running water. . . Just after reaching the top there is a tent of Mr. Suresh Sharma who has been there from 32 years offering all tourists maggi , omelettte and chai. Starting from 2 rs for chai , 20 rs for maggi and 30 rs for omelette those prices are touching sky now but as does the raw material's price. Haven't tried his raajma chawal they were more costly and not worth it. . Very welcoming always you can just sit around there and he will tell you stories of triund if he is free. Its hard for me to start a communication with anyone new but he was very easy to talk to. RECREATING MEMORIES . People are always like why are you going to himachal again? and i am like because i love that place. And where would i go in the scorching heat of april or june , to goa or rajasthan? Absolutely not! The second question arise - why aren't you going to north east then or uttrakhand? To which i usually reply because noth east can't be travel cheaply and uttrakhand i wanna go so badly but always end up going to himachal. This was my second trip to Triund . I know, i won't be going to triund trek for a long time now. But what is better? Going to a place you have been before or going to a place you have never been to? Well both have its pros so this time it was like going to a place i have been before. Also take into account that i went with a cousin and his colleagues which were elder than me , who were all work oriented and gave up the trekking at many points but still i had a good time. The best thing you gain by going with office oriented people to a trek is patience. A lot of patience , so you won't flip out when they make foolish statements. They will test you at each moment. . People don't like the journey , they are more into the destination. They get bored while they are on the journey and keep asking stupid questions, thats when your patience comes handy. I am more of a journey plus destination type of guy who can adjust in every situation so its hard to convince some people who have never been out of an AC room to trek mere 5-6 kms to just see a view. . Ok now look at this view , i love this view. Don't you? Its worth going to the top right na? This trek was different from the one i did last year in june of the same place. This time there was snow so we had to cross that. It was raining heavily and snowing. Yes even in april , i know right? One bottle of Vodka was caught during checking(not all though) , bonfire didn't worked out. But thats what becomes memory. Not everything will happen like you planned so you gotta adapt to the situation. The pictures you saw on the internet before starting a trip may disappoint you when you reach to that place.
