2012: BIG!
So i have decided to start my post-grad studies this semester - good idea? Well yes, that's the whole point why i am doing it. Although at this very moment - 2 weeks before the exam - I wish I had rethought this idea of having a "CA" affixed to my name. Tough gig, kids!

First things first, this is only gonna be another crappy note. Written only to satisfy my own urgency to write! Don't ask me why. Anyway, I've come to a conclusion that so far, my superiors at work (read: bosses) have always been a bit of a 'different' one. Not only with my current job, but also the one before. They are two different people. One could be as old as my dad, and the other could even be my granddad. Let's call boss number one "Boss A" and boss number two "Boss B". The thing with Boss A was, he was such a fatherly figure to me that at one stage I almost believed he could be my long-lost uncle! He would clap his hands back and forth whenever he's anxious, like a little kid waiting to be given some coins for ice cream. He'd skipped his way back to his office (again) like a little kid who'd just found a collectible toy in his packet of chips. He would always comment on how I should be as a person - and I will never forget this - he once told me that "you should be a little bit crooked in your thinking, Meisha." Boss B, on the other hand, has a different approach to his 'uniqueness'. He's the type of person on a comedy show that you'd find annoying at first but whose character plays a major yet silent role in the show. Get it? Well, let me try to put him into words. In our 'touch-of-red' themed cocktail party, he painted a red line from the top of his white hair, through to his forehead, and all the way down to his chin. Then, he proudly put his fingers out in front of us only to show his polished red nails that he'd painted earlier at work! No, no, no, he's not what you think he is. He is a dedicated husband and a proud father. He's just different. Weirdly funny and extraordinarily humble for someone with his title. Such dedicated, smart, quirky, down-to-earth, and fun-loving individuals. What great people to look up to! P.S. Guess which boss randomly asked me if i wanted some chillies because he's got "too much I don't know what to do with it?" ;D God bless them and all the great leaders out there :)

We are on two different highways, coming from two different directions, trying to get to the same address. You may be walking, taking shortcuts to avoid traffic, saying a few hellos along the way, even stopping for a while for a cigarette or two. I could be stuck with a peak-hour public transport, lucky enough to be on the express train, even without any scenery, looking to see any familiar faces. Our paths may have intersected, but now they are merging into one, because in the end we are heading to the same destination. "Don't go ahead without me," you say. "Don't worry, hun. I shall see you at our place" :)

To some we say hello, to others goodbye. The time has finally come to step out of another comfort zone and welcome a new beginning. Sad, yet excited. Heavy-hearted, yet relieved. Time seems to have gone so fast, yet so slow. Overwhelming. In between emotions, gratitude flows through from the very bottom of it all. Yes, it is the right time. To some we say hello, to others goodbye..

Fish and Chips
Strolling along Brunswick St late this afternoon, Mum Dad and I were in the mood for coffee and some munchies! We thought of having pizza at first, but instead decided to go in a nice little fish'n'chips shop called "Hooked". It has one of those "The Age Cheap Eats" stickers stuck on the window, so i thought it was definitely worth a taste! So we went in and ordered 2 lunch-boxes for $9.90 each and sat outside. Not long after, our table buzzer beeped and flashed which meant our food was ready to be picked up (no they don't do table service).
I ordered a Calamari Salt n Pepper lunch box and a Fish of the day lunchbox. Both meals came with chips and you can opt for 50/50 chips&salad too! Only thing is, they didn't have coffee..which was what we were after before we came in..
Coffees aside, calamari and chips were really awesome! Fish was also nicely battered, and the salad has ginger in it! Unusual i thought, but really nice! Would definitely come back for lunch sometime soon! 
