my heart broke for junghwan😿❤️❤️❤️

really loved reply 1988 and was vvvvv certain he would end up w deoksun but….

I don’t hate choi taek, in fact he was the next best candidate I would have gladly accepted for the end. But then they made junghwan look so pathetic and sad and practically abandoned him in the last two eps.. Also can we talk about how much more developed the junghwan character was and the taek and deoksun relationship never got to develop as much? I guess maybe that’s why a lot of us are feeling indignant/cheated/betrayed because we grew attached to junghwan due to the more in depth development given to junghwan.

Nevertheless, I still love this drama despite its not so satisfying ending. I guess it is really very raw and showing of real life. Because let’s face it. IRL there are not so many happy endings and there are bound to be sad endings. And it’s true for many that their first love are stopped by their very own hesitations. Laughed and cried a lot with reply 1988, also learnt a lot of life lessons about family, friends and love…. This would have been my top drama of 2015/16 but the ending is still so unsatisfying to me.

It reminds me of the time I watched the movie “You’re the apple of my eye” in which the main guy also end up losing the girl due to his many hesitations. Perhaps writernim got some inspiration from that movie hahaha idk I’m still heartbroken for junghwan. Let me go cry a few more times and mourn for him before I go and watch reply 1997 which my friend recommended.
