Urrrmmmmmm really old TADC comic I started months ago but never finished until now, you can probably tell which parts are the older ones and which parts are the new ones. Very sketchy and stuff cus I just wanted to finish it but ya. I just had this thought since ragatha and pomni (excluding jax because of his bunny ears and stuff) are the most human looking circus members and pomni is shown still being weirded out by her new body (I love body horror can you tell?) and then you have ragathas issues with toxic positivity or whateva but ya here you are

Something something, Jax usually breaks Gangle's comedy mask. Something something, Zooble noticing that Gangle is "too shy to speak up." Something something, Gangle putting out a vote to force Jax in a maid dress. Something something, taking agency away from him in the same way he does to her.

Part of the fandom: Ragatha's need to be positive all the time is making it hard to connect with her. She should just drop it and be real.

Ragatha: Stops being positive and has a couple of jerkish moments which she apologizes for

Hey so stray thought, y’all think the reason why Ragatha is near Kinger all the time is cause she saw him as this weird parental figure.

What if a big reason why she dislikes Jax that much is because he reminds her of her own mother.

What if softball was her only outlet in letting her emotions go before getting trapped in the circus.

What if she is nice to everyone because she doesn’t want to be like her mother so she just told herself that she will not be mean at all no matter what, which led her not knowing how to regulate her own emotions, so whenever she expresses her negative emotions it’s an explosion because she has never learned how to regulate it in a healthy way. And all she knew what to do is to suppress them.

What if she understood what’s it like to be yelled at and had swore to herself to never be mean at anyone ever again. And so she turned to fawning as a trauma response/coping mechanism. But she is also over correcting herself and now she is continuing a cycle without even realising it herself. Cause in her mind being nice and softness is all she had ever craved. Something that is the ultimate good. Everything that isn’t her mother. Not mean or harsh or yelling or the berating. But with her niceness had also led to her coming off as not genuine. No one actually knows Ragatha as Ragatha, but the mask she had given herself.

What then.

Why tf does everyone hate Ragatha now? Aww did she hurt your poor baby Jax? The same innocent little bunny who stabbed and shoved Ragatha into a fryer, bullies Gangle and just unnecessarily torments people? I don't care WHY he does it and I don't hate him, just like I don't hate Ragatha, but ya'll hate Ragatha for bringing up a tiny little thing which she apologised for? And not Jax? Lol go and take a shower you mysogynistic crazy fangirls.

tbh this was mostly a personal vent about my own mother and how much I hate her, but I decided to draw Ragatha because I realized we both have similar mothers and I really wanted to relate to her personally somehow

Honestly, no matter how bad I thought Ragatha was behaving this episode, she didn't deserve such a terrible mother. She didn't deserve the abuse she went through as a child.

She shouldn't have taken it out on others, but...I get it.

Really bothering me that people are calling Ragatha toxic, fake or abusive when in reality she is just a traumatized people pleaser who has her fair share of flaws, but in the end is not a bad person. She's trying, and she clearly does care about the others, even if there is also an element of fear she has that they won't like her if she doesn't act nice enough.

Ragatha isn't even in my top three favourites of the cast. But it bothers me how shallow and unnuanced some people are being about her character. I love Jax and his character is so rich and interesting to me, but I can still blatantly acknowledge he's done some pretty nasty things, and gets defended too heavily because of a few softer moments. Yet Ragatha has a few moments where she acts out (PAIRED with context that she's experienced emotional abuse her whole life) and all of a sudden she's the fandom's punching bag? It's so weird to me. Double standards. Kind of reminds me of the Gangle hate we got post episode four, but worse.

I'm kind of obsessed with this moment because like

Jax has been harassing Ragatha all day, actively trying to drive a wedge between her and Pomni, and just generally trying to break down her mask of positivity for no other reason than his own amusement.

But she still apologizes to him because she sees what's really behind his behavior. Because she knows she upset him and genuinely regrets it. Because even after everything he's put her through, she still cares about him.

And he's only realizing it now that it's far too late to change course.
