My first ever Blog! This is exciting!
Hello, Hi, Hey :-) My name is Sarah and this is a little bit about my new venture and how it became a thing.
I have just recently started my own little business making soy wax melts. I have always liked everything about candles and making the home smell amazing but then I discovered wax melts and fell in love. During the lock down last year in Melbourne, amongst home schooling my son, I started to make my own wax melts it was like my little escape. I was in my own little world making them and it was my way shutting out reality. My reality of being sad that I am so far away from my family and not being able to see them.
I live in Melbourne but I am from the UK and the last time I saw my family was nearly 2 years ago. I live with my Husband and my Son, who is 8 years old,  but we have no other family here so that is hard in its self but then not being able to go see them is even harder . I try my best not to think about how it makes me feel not to see them but instead try and keep busy. I know I am not the only person in this situation in Australia and indeed around the world, so I try to keep that stiff up a lip attitude like British people do but by god its hard sometimes! I know its coming soon that day when I can hug my mum again and so I just have to keep the faith.
Back to the wax melts..... whilst I was making all my wax melts creations my husband suggested I should give selling them a go. It did take me a while to get a website together (this was probably the hardest thing I am not the most tech minded person ). I launched my website earlier this year, although with one thing and another I have not been able to give it my full attention. We now find ourselves back in lock down AGAIN and so what a perfect time to try and make my passion a reality.  I am still home schooling and doing all sorts of things I never thought I would do 2 years ago, but this time I am managing much better with it save in the knowledge that day is coming when we can travel again :-)
Thank you for taking the time to read my first blog.
