A little a lot question for Melinda. I'm gonna bomb shell these many questions cuz I wanna know the characters
What's for favorite food? Do you eat? Are you a carnivore or Omnivore?
Do you like meeting another critter of your size? Are you the only one of your kind? Do you sleep?
And how are you doing?
-Hunyo of Dawn
◇Hm, I can eat anything, but I do need a bit more meat in my system than most. Which is unfortunate considering I've grown quite tired of the taste. Though the best thing I've eaten so far was a slice of carrot cake I found at a researchers desk. It was absolutely divine. But I haven't been able to find any since. Calamari made of the squiddles is also great, especially when Allo makes it.◇
◇As for the other creatures, ones of my size I've quite enjoyed so far, usually furry little beasts that have claws, but they get taken to the testing chambers before I can really learn about them.◇
◇From what I've gathered, through both the researchers and the hivemind, nobody else has evolved to have the same level of sentience as me, unless I have children of my own, I believe I'll be the only one.◇
◇And yes, I do sleep, but only once every month or so for about a full day. I'm doing quite well, even though I'm practically trapped in a maze of hamster tunnels made of concrete.◇

[Melinda would panic, the tentacles moving to hide behind Kraken, clinging onto whatever was around.]
[Melinda herself would lean heavily into Kraken's back, sticking herself on to try and seal them together, a note flying out in the chaos.]
`Nonononono I deserve this I deserve a break you don't get to take that from me GO AWAY LET ME HAVE THIS.`
[It was silent in the cell as usual, the little concrete box that they kept the thing in.]
[Monster, body stealer, leech-]
[Parasite.]
[...]
[The only sound she could hear was the quiet bands as she slammed the hard plastic of the rattle against the keycard box, the little toy dented from use just like the two others scattered somewhere in the cell.]
[Clack, clack, clack.]
[Rythmic, enough to drive anyone mad who'd be unfortunate enough to be stuck in the cell with her.]
[Clack, clack, clack.]
[How long had she been at this? How long has it been since she's talked to someone? Are they trying isolation again?]
[Clack, clack, clack.]
[The last time she'd seen someone, it was back when they had first given her that xylophone, and by now, the pain was worn down so much you could see the grey plastic underneath.]
[Clack, Clack, Clack.]
[She hated it, the sound was no different. Then again, is she even allowed to say she feels hate when all of her emotion is just lies to keep herself comfortable?]
[Clack, Clack, Clack.]
[She hates it, she hates this box, this silence, these stupid baby toys they gave her to try and keep her as stupid and child-like as possible, so afraid of her escape, her evolution.]
[ClackClackClack-]
[Rattles, a xylophone, a plastic drum, a pull toy, a slinky, stupid stuffed animals.]
[ClackClack-]
[Snap.]
[Beads scattered across the floor with little plastic shards, the rattle broken, snapped in half.]
[Seems she got a bit too fussy.]
[Melinda would toss the broken plastic aside, climbing back up on the countertop at the back of the room.]

"you really sure you - " a frantic fellow scientist sputtered out as she tried to follow the tall male before her that was walking faster due to his long strides. His footsteps echoed in the halls as he held a high and mighty attitude.
Red eyes narrowing as he glanced to the woman behind him , white pupils narrowing "I don't fear what you have stated , this creature has so much potential! You think keeping it like that would aid in stopping it's evolution??? Pah it will evolve no matter what .nature has ways " he scoffed. He kept walking forward as he made his way to the cell that held the parasite he was looking to try some things out.
The woman tried again to speak but flinched back when a metal tendril slashed at the air she was at .a warning she took as she looked down and went quite.
"well well ~" Dr. Kraken hummed out as he used his robotic left hand to open the door to the cell. He walked over to the viewing window grinning widely at the mass of void with purple glowing eyes.

[But one of the other tentacles would reach up, brushing through Kraken's hair, almost soothingly. The fourth reaching behind him for a moment to present him with another note.]
`Calm down and accept it. You're not being hurt, I'm kind enough to spare you. I want fresh air. We're going for a walk. Go forward.`

[Melinda would leap at the opportunity, shifting their body to the back of Kraken's head and darting down, covering the pack and quickly seeping inside, shivering at the new warmth.]
[Melinda would reach and spread, curious, yet still following their basic instinct of take-over. Black swirls shifting through the red lights of the pack, mass forcing its way into the thinner tube of the tentacles, pushing their own through.]
[Once they were finished, it froze, the tentacles stuck in mid-air for a moment before slowly shifting, moving on their own accord.]
[Two of them would reach down, wrapping around the wrist of the hand Kraken had opened the door with, Melinda's intentions pretty clear: she wanted out.]

`Newsflash.`
[Melinda would seep out from the doll, setting it aside gently as to not damage it.]
`I can't feel anything.`
[Melinda would lunge forward, leaping onto Kraken's face, pushing through his mask and shoving it away as she covered his airways, wrapping around his face and neck as they slammed rhythmically against his lips and jaw, trying to force them open.]
[Tendrils would lash out from their form, slapping over his eyes and trying to press onto them, leaving behind a thick black slime. A few others tugging and pulling and pushing at whatever they can reach, latching around the end of one of the tendrils and following it down to try and yank it out of the pack.]

[There'd be a pause, a slight moment of shock at his audacity.]
`You're a freak of your kind, do you know that? Take it as you will.`
[Melinda would snatch the doll from his hand with a tendril.]
[Kraken could see how the tendril oozed, slipping inside the cracks of the doll before disappearing inside it.]
[The doll's body would twist and crack in odd directions, but never enough to break, eventually being stood on the table.]
`I'll have you know that this thing is uncomfortably inaccurate to how a human body truly functions, I'll have to change several parts of my methods.`
[The doll would gesture as Melinda wrote, this time writing in front of Kraken, pacing itself to match, using the doll's arms to seem more animated, like it was speaking.]
`Would you like a three second head start to leave the cell? Or would you like to tempt fate? I didn't get my reputation from nothing.`
[Melinda's eyes would look up to stare at Kraken, the doll's head following suit.]
`The only reason you're not dead on sight is because you brought me something actually entertaining. But my kindness wears thin with people in your profression, and quickly.`

[There wouldn't even be hesitation.]
`No.`
[Simple, the note sat there for a moment, sinking in, before she finally elaborated.]
`Apologies, but to be perfectly honest, to me you are no different then any other researcher.`
`You live, you love, you fear, you bleed, you die, I'm not afraid. And I know you won't kill me yet. You say curiosity killed the cat, but it seems to be keen on dooming the human race.`
[The void mass would peer off to the side, uninterested.]
`Always the same, you poke, you prod, you beg, you beat, you leave. Over and over. Occasionally, you give me some new toy to try and keep me entertained and distracted.`
`You clean up my concrete box when I get "fussy", sweeping up the remains of broken shards out of fear I'll learn how to leave.`
[Melinda would look back at Kraken, the fake blinking over and done with, a cold neutrality in its place.]
`I hear them speak of me, I won't tell you how, but you're all painfully obvious about it. They're afraid that I'll become more, become human, that they won't be able to tell which one is me without dissecting their own kind. But what stops me from simply hiding deeper?`
[Melinda would go back to their normal behaviors, waving a tentacle to brush it off as they swept up the past notes and consumed them.]
`Oh, but don't listen to the ramblings of a simple void mass. Go on with your experiment for today.`

[Their eyes darted to him, moving around slight centimeters as they watched him enter, pausing on his hand for a moment before snapping their attention back to Kraken.]
[They bristled at the word "fussy", annoyed, but calmed themselves. Faking a blink, which they picked up from the other scientists who didn't seem fond of their staring, another human habit they had picked up and were mastering.]
[They would shift, a tentacle reaching out to flick a note at Kraken, the handwriting sloppy but readable.]
`I feel like I already know who you are, considering the other researchers don't seem too fond of you.`
[The thing would roll its eyes, uncomfortably human.]
`Kraken, yes? Quite the name. I'm assuming you chose it yourself? We are at least similar in that regard.`
◇The main difference is that I'm not a huge dick.◇
