EMPTIES REVIEW: Goodal Moisture Barrier Fresh Gel Cream ♡
Tumblr media
Today’s quick review is on this little gel cream by Goodal! This kind of cream is meant to be used in the summer because of its lightweight gel texture but I had to use it into the New Zealand winter, which didn’t work well for me. Goodal is a more pricey brand and they have a few different moisture lines. This teal blue “fresh” line is targeted for those with oily and/or combination skin.
“Charges skin with refreshingly moisturising, mineral-rich Seoraksan water. Mistletoe complex forms a moisture barrier over skin. Gel-type moisture cream fills skin with refreshing moisture.”
You get 50ml of product and it comes with a mini spatula to make it more hygienic. It also claims to have whitening and anti-wrinkle properties.
Tumblr media
I would recommend this to anyone with oily skin who are looking for a very lightweight cream for the summer. However, there are cheaper alternative gel creams on the market. For those with combination skin leaning more towards the dry side, I don’t think this would provide enough moisture for the dry areas. I didn’t see any whitening and anti-wrinkle effects either. Overall I didn’t have a bad experience with this cream, but I was happy when I finally finished it so I could move onto something more moisturising.

INNISFREE: Green Tea Cleansing Water Review ♡
Tumblr media
Time for another quick review! I’ve gotta admit I picked this cleanser because I’ve always wanted to try this kind of pump bottle. I thought it would be more convenient and quicker to use but turns out I was wrong 😳
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“The cleansing water that completely wipes off makeup and leaves the skin hydrated with the rich moisture of freshly squeezed Jeju green tea.”
Claims:
1. Fresh green tea water squeezed out from organically grown fresh green tea leaves is rich in amino acids and minerals that moisturize and brighten skin that's become dehydrated by cleansing.  2. This moist easily washable cleansing water works to thoroughly remove not only sunscreen and BB cream, but also light point makeup.
You get 300ml of product.
Tumblr media
Directions: Place your cotton pads on top of the pump and gently press downward.
This is actually quite messy to use because the water squirts everywhere if you’re not careful. I’m usually not too careful with this because I’m in a hurry to get my makeup off so I often get water all over my table and it once squirted all over my mirror haha. You kind of have to wrap your cotton pad around the top and hold it down so that way when the product squirts out, it won’t seep through any gaps.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The results on the back of my hand look like it does a thorough job at removing the foundation, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lipstick. However, once your makeup has been on for a number of hours, the removal isn’t as great. It definitely would not be enough to only use this cleansing water to remove makeup but then again, it should be a necessity that you double cleanse! Even though I am quite lazy, I do actually like to triple cleanse most days. This is gentle on the skin and isn’t too greasy or dry for my combination skin. However, it isn’t gentle enough to not sting when it gets in your eye so be careful if you use it to remove eye makeup. But then again, as it is a cleansing water, it doesn’t remove eye and lip makeup well anyway unless you want to use a ton of cotton pads! It only claims to be able to remove light point makeup so it may be a great product for people who wear very minimal makeup.
Overall this cleansing water isn’t too bad but I won’t be repurchasing it because of the inconvenient pump and the scent.

ETUDE HOUSE [Pink Bird]: Monster Micellar Cleansing Water Review ♡ May Box
Tumblr media
Here is the final review from the May box! This post will be on Etude House’s newest Monster Micellar Cleansing Water. So I wasn’t given the full product but was given 3 small sample bottles. The monster theme is super adorable and reminds me of Monsters Inc but slightly cuter 😄
Information:
This micellar water claims to effectively remove both base and eye makeup in one. It removes impurities but keeps the skin moisturised with its green power complex, consisting of aloe, bamboo, and green tea. It is free of animal ingredients, mineral oil, polyacrylamide, imidazolidinyl urea, triethanolamine, silicon oil, sulfate surfactant, synthesized pigments, or artificial scents. It comes in a big 700ml bottle or you can get the smaller 300ml one.
Tumblr media
🌸  MY REVIEW 🌸
This micellar cleansing water is not bad but it isn’t enough on its own to thoroughly remove all your makeup. I tested this in two ways for face makeup: First I used it after using my Innisfree Green Tea cleansing water and it did remove the last parts of foundation that the other cleansing water couldn’t remove. Secondly I used it as the first step of removal and this took a lot of product to remove and more time. It also did not thoroughly remove my foundation, which I could tell when I went back with the other cleansing water.
In terms of eye makeup, it wasn’t strong enough to remove it all in one go. The more eye makeup you have on, the more difficult it is to remove and you will probably need to keep replenishing the water on your cotton pad. I tried it for both waterproof and non-waterproof mascara and it could not remove it no matter how long I tried. It generally removed my eyeliner and eyeshadow well but in the example below, you can see it didn’t remove that particular eyeshadow too well.
Tumblr media
The eyeliner and blush was removed well but you can see that there is a hint of foundation left and you can clearly see the eyeshadow.
Tumblr media
My first impression of this water initially was really good as a second step to make sure all the product was completely removed. But as I tested it out more on different types of products and as the only step in makeup removal (before going in with cleanser), it became more average for me.
It is not, by any means, a bad cleansing water but just not enough for the amount of makeup I need to remove. Also, keep in mind that it is just a cleansing water, so the removal power naturally wouldn’t be as strong as oils or balms. This would be great for those who don’t use a lot of makeup on a daily basis.
Can’t believe next month is the final box and the end of the Pink Bird program for 2017! If you’re interested in how to become a Pink Bird member, check out Yennie’s post here :)

ETUDE HOUSE [Pink Bird]: Tint My 4-Tip Brow #4 Gray Brown Review ♡ May Box
Tumblr media
This is a brow tint with a 4-tip applicator, if you couldn’t tell by the name 😄  If you’re aware of those peel-off brow tints, this is kind of the same thing except you don’t need to peel anything off. The aim of this is a temporary-lasting tattoo effect so you don’t need to draw your brows everyday.
There are 4 shades to choose from: #1 Natural Brown, #2 Dark Brown, #3 Reddish Brown, #4 Gray Brown.
You are supposed to apply this before any skincare or makeup otherwise it may clog the tips, but you can always wipe off any excess product on the applicator. If you want a stronger effect, then use it at night and leave it overnight. It also says to not use any cleansing products on it within 24 hours.
Tumblr media
It comes in a very simple tube packaging.
The applicator itself is spongey but a bit stiff to allow for precision.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The colour above is what is left the next day after I had left it on for 12 hours the day beforehand. It does say on the packaging to not use any cleansing products on it for 24hours but I don’t like to leave makeup on in bed so I had to wash it off. Nonetheless, even after 12 hours of wear, it did leave a subtle tint to my brows! But as you can see, there is a yellow undertone to it.
Tumblr media
This is what it looks like when it’s freshly applied. The gray brown colour suits black hair well!
🌙  MY VERDICT
The concept of this brow tint product is nice and would be good for people who aren’t keen on the peeling brow tints because this one does allow more precision and you can create a slight gradient effect if you wish. This is a product that requires some practice to get it right. The lasting power isn’t as great as it promises and it does leave a more yellow tint compared to the original colour. It can be difficult to apply for those who aren’t used to the applicator but it can also be easily wiped off if you make a mistake. I imagine this product would be a bit more difficult to use if you are someone who needs to extend the shape of your brow because the yellow undertone may make it look a bit unnatural. After I got the hang of using the applicator, I now use it as an everyday eyebrow product rather than using it as a tint.

ETUDE HOUSE [Pink Bird]: Play Color Eyes Cherry Blossom Palette Review ♡ May Box
Tumblr media
Let’s start this Pink Bird May box review chain with the cutest eyeshadow palette ever. I was definitely not expecting to receive this palette so it was a very nice surprise from Etude House and I had actually been eyeing it ever since it was released. I have to be honest I wanted it because of the cherry blossom packaging and theme, because who doesn’t love cherry blossoms!
Tumblr media
There are 10 eyeshadows in total with a mix of mattes, shimmers, and glitters. It comes with 2 sponge applicators (which I’ve just put aside because I never use them haha) and there is also a nice mirror.
🌸  Let’s start with the first 5 from the left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. 오지마! 벚꽃 엔딩 Don't come! Cherry Blossom Ending:
This is a soft pink rose colour with chunky gold glitters. There is some glitter fallout and it applies sheer on the lids so you do need to build it up if you want it to be more intense.
2. 살랑살랑 벚꽃비 Gentle Cherry Blossom Rain:
This is a light pink-peachy matte colour. It is good as a base because it applies very sheer on the lids. No powder fallouts.
3. 달달한 대추차 Sweet Jujuba Tea:
This is one of my favourites! Its a dried rose colour that is matte. You can use it as a transition shade or for a soft simple look all over the eyes. This is one of the more pigmented matte shades and I can pick up a lot of colour with my Real Techniques Base Shadow brush. Not powdery and no fallouts.
4. 200년 된 초코가게 200-year-old Choco Shop:
This is also another one of my favourites! It’s another matte and in a chocolatey brown colour. This one requires a bit of building to get your desired colour. Not powdery and no fallouts.
5. 아련한 로지 필터 Soft Rosy Filter:
Another favourite! This is a shimmery golden bronze colour and is the most pigmented colour in the palette. I love it for just all over the lids with some brown eyeliner. In terms of this one, you don’t want to pick up too much product at once otherwise there will be some chunks. Other than that, love love love this colour!
Tumblr media
🌸  Now onto the final 5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. 트윙클 윙크 Twinkle Wink:
This is a glittery champagne colour with chunky glitters. It’s the least pigmented of the bunch and it is actually more just glitter. This would be good if you want to add some sparkle to your look. It does get messy to work with because it’s so glittery. This one isn’t really buildable in terms of colour.
7. 오늘은 오렌지 웨이 Today's Orange Way:
This is an orangey salmon shimmer colour. In the swatch below you can see chunks of product but it may be because I pressed too hard for the swatch. This one is quite sheer when applied and hard to build.
8. 설레는 벚꽃 데이트 Heart throbbing Cherry Blossom Date:
This one is a pinky coral colour that is mostly matte. There are little silver glitters but it is not overly glittery.
9. 전솔 속 핑크 빵집 Legendary Pink Bakery:
This one is also another subtle shimmery hot pink colour. This one had no fallouts and was not powdery. Once again it is also sheer when you apply it on your lids.
10. 갓 튀긴 벚꽃 팝콘 Freshly Popped Cherry Blossom Popcorn:
Final shade! This is a shimmery white colour. When you blend it out, the white colour disappears and you are left with glitter so it becomes similar to shade #6. Also messy to work because the glitter can go everywhere.
Tumblr media
🌸  MY VERDICT 🌸
The colours are very pigmented in the swatches but when you apply them on your eye, they are actually very sheer and some almost disappear. The glitter ones are bit more messy to work with and glitter can get everywhere if you aren’t careful.
This is a great shadow palette for beginners because the shades are so sheer so it’s hard to go wrong with it. Most shades are buildable as well so you can work the pigment and intensity to how you like it.
If you are used to using western eyeshadows or you prefer more oomph to your eye makeup, then the pigmentation of this palette will be quite disappointing for you. My favourite shade is definitely the 5th shimmery bronze colour because that one is the most pigmented and buttery.
Hope you liked this review and that it helps you make a decision about whether or not to get this palette :3

The products I received in this month’s box are: ♡ 3 x 25ml Monster Micellar Cleansing Water ♡ Play Color Eyes Cherry Blossom Palette ♡ Tint My 4-Tip Brow in #4 Gray Brown ♡ Pink of the Year 2017 Eco Bag ♡ Pink of the Year Lipstick Case ♡ Dear My Glass Tinting Lips Talk #PK003 Romantic Frill Pink  ♡ Lovely Etti Hair Band

This post will be to quickly show you the other miscellaneous products.
Tumblr media
Etude House were kind enough to send the pink eco bag shown in the photo above and the Pink Of The Year lipstick case that is part of their Mix and Match range. They also sent a Dear My Glass Tinting Lips-Talk in Romantic Frill Pink PK003, which is actually the same as what I got in the March box. This colour was chosen by Pantone Colour Institute as colour of the year for 2017.
Tumblr media
I reviewed this colour in the March Box and you can check it out here.
Tumblr media
Finally we have the most adorable hair band ever! I don’t usually use hair bands when I do my skincare routine because they usually mess up my fringe but this one is too adorable not to use :3
Tumblr media
If you have time or are interested, do check out the reviews from my fellow Pink Bird bloggers! They all do great reviews as well and each of us present ours differently so it’s quite fun to see. COSRX: Aloe Soothing Sun Screen SPF 50+ PA+++ Review ♡
Tumblr media
I’m back with a quick review! I’ve decided I’ll just get straight into the review without blabbing on like I always do in the beginning because I’m sure most of you are just here for the review part :D
This is definitely my holy grail sunscreen and I can’t see myself using anything else!
Tumblr media
Brand: COSRX Net Weight: 50ml / 1.69 fl. oz  SPF: 50+ PA+++
Features: Infused with 5,500ppm of aloe leaf extract, this Aloe Soothing Sun Cream not only improves the skin’s moisture barrier, but also protects against sun damage. Aloe, a scientifically proven natural herb, has been used for centuries, and is widely known for its extraordinary ability to soothe, revive, and improve stressed, dry skin. Aloe Soothing Sun Cream has a sheer, light-weight texture, which absorbs quickly and leaves skin feeling intensely hydrated, without the greasy residue.
It provides broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. It is suitable for all skin types. Apply at least 30 minutes before going out in the sun (oops, I haven’t been doing this step haha) and re-apply every 2 hours if you are in the sun for a long period of time.
Tumblr media
The packaging is super simple, it comes in a white squeeze tube.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you squeeze the product out, it looks like it would be a really thick sun cream. However, it is actually so lightweight, sheer, and easy to blend. It doesn’t leave a white cast, thank goodness! It absorbs super quickly into the skin and it does not feel greasy at all. Other sun creams I have tried can leave my forehead and nose feeling greasy and oily but this one does not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✿ Lightweight  ✿ Absorbs fast  ✿ No greasy residue  ✿ No white cast  ✿ Easy to blend  ✿ Unscented  ✿ Has moisturising properties  ✿ Good for all skin types
Tumblr media
NONE!
Tumblr media
I super duper highly recommend this sunscreen/suncream! We call it sunscreen in New Zealand 😃  I am pretty picky when it comes to sunscreen, or makeup in general so when I find something I really like, I tend to not use anything else. I feel like that will definitely be the case for this product. If you’re looking for a good sunscreen, this is the one for you! I have combination skin and this sunscreen is a perfect combo of added moisture without the greasiness.
Until next time,

ETUDE HOUSE [Pink Bird]: April Box Unboxing ♡
Tumblr media
I lost track of time recently so I might be late to this unboxing but it’s here now! I’ve been dreading the month of May because it’s going to the busiest month for me but I’ll survive 🙆🏻 This means I don’t think I will be making another post until the May pink bird box! Thank you to those who have stuck around 💕
This month’s theme is pretty similar to the January box with a cushion, tone-up primer and two eye makeup items. I also got sent a mini trial kit of the Honey Cera skincare range but I won’t be reviewing that in this post because I haven’t had time to try it.
Tumblr media
🌸  First we have the ANY CUSHION ALL DAY PERFECT CUSHION FOUNDATION.
Tumblr media
This is their newest cushion foundation and it comes in 6 shades. Mine is in Sand (which is actually a bit too neutral for me but Beige is too light TT). As with typical cushion foundations, it has whitening, wrinkle improvement and SPF 50 PA+++ UV protection functions. It is also meant to be long lasting and give you ‘perfect coverage’. You get 14g of product.
🌸  MY REVIEW 🌸
The coverage is a lot higher than their usual cushion foundations and it does give a very smooth canvas. The coverage was buildable - but in saying that I applied it very sparingly on my face so it didn’t look cakey on me. It covered the redness around my nose very well and did a fair job at covering blemishes. I would consider this a medium coverage. The texture is quite thick so it can look cakey if you apply too much. I can imagine that it would be quite thick and uncomfortable for those with dry to normal skin. There was no transfer for me but I did set it with a translucent pressed powder.
In terms of lasting power, it stayed on for around 6 hours. However, it did wear off around my nose and under-eye area after 4ish hours but that is to be expected because my glasses are there and I’m either rubbing my nose when it’s itchy or blowing it 😅  I have combination skin and it worked fine for me but I wouldn’t repurchase this only because there isn’t a shade that fits me and because I have to be careful with how much I apply. But for those of you whose skintone matches with the shades that are available, I would recommend this if you are someone who doesn’t have too many blemishes or trouble spots that need covering and if you have oily skin.
Tumblr media
Click on for the full post :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌸  Next we have the FIX AND FIX PRIMER.
Tumblr media
This is a similar concept to their previous Any Cushion Color Corrector but in tube form. I got Lavender, which is for dull skin. This primer aims to make your makeup last from “morning until afternoon” by controlling excessive sebum and maintaining the oil-water balance.
There are 3 tone-up primers and 1 pore primer.
Tumblr media
🌸  MY REVIEW 🌸
I was not expecting to like this because I didn’t like the one that came in the cushion compact. That one was hard to blend and it made me look so white. However, this has been my go-to primer ever since trying it. Everything from the packaging to the consistency of this primer makes it a much better one than the cushion compact one. It’s hygienic, easy to control how much product you want, the consistency is very lightweight (which you’ll see in the swatch) making it very easy to blend! This one actually brightens up my skintone without making me look like a ghost. LOVE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌸  Finally we have the SUPER SLIM PROOF LINERS.
Tumblr media
True to their name, these liners are indeed super slim. There are two types: brush liner and pencil liner. I’m a huge lover of eyeliners and seriously cannot live without them. Lately I’ve been into using brown liners more but it’s always good to have backups of black!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The brush liner was (and still is) my favourite! The brush is only 0.3mm long and it is so easy to work with. I like to use this to thicken my lashline and because it’s so thin. However, it also works very well for creating a perfect wing because the brush is so precise. It is very pigmented and rich in colour. My eyes can get quite oily (eyeshadow can melt sometimes) and I also like to rub my eyes occasionally but this eyeliner stayed put for 10 hours (when I leave my makeup on until I have to take it off before bed). I would highly recommend this liner!
Tumblr media
The brown liner is twist up and to be honest I didn’t like using this on my eyes. While it is pigmented when I swatch it on my hand, it was difficult to apply on the soft eye area. It isn’t as smooth as it looks on the eyes and I had to drag it. However, this looked really patchy and clump and the colour wasn’t distributed evenly. Because the eye area is delicate, I didn’t want to push too hard. In the end I used this on my brows and it worked very well for that :D But I will pass on using it as eyeliner. This pencil is 1.5mm.
Tumblr media
Here is the overall look with the primer, cushion foundation and black eyeliner ⬇
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was another sweet and simple box! I liked all the products and for the ones with drawbacks, I managed to find another and better use for it (i.e. the brown pencil liner). I really wish their cushion foundation had a shade that suits my skin tone because I really like it. Nonetheless I am trying to make it work by mixing it with my NARS tinted moisturiser.  If there was one item that I would recommend the most, it would be the brush liner.
Tumblr media
Check out reviews from other pink bird bloggers who received different shades!

EMPTIES REVIEW: Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner ♡
Tumblr media
It took me nearly a year but I have finally finished this toner! It’s supposedly meant to take 1-2 months if you use it every day but I’m not sure why it took me so so long to finish it 😳  Maybe it’s because I tried to use it sparingly..?? Oh well, I have now moved on to the Mamonde Rose Water Toner 😅
This is one of the highly raved about toners in the kbeauty community and it has won a few awards! The toner supposedly balances your pH levels, provides deep moisturisation, cleanses & soothes, and removes excess dirt and sebum. You get 180ml of product and it’s suitable for all skin types.
“Supple Preparation Facial Toner is formulated by the base of various botanical extracts, balances skin’s pH level and provides full nourishing effect to the skin. It contains various ingredients such as Lipidure and Beta-Glucan which provide deep hydration and also helps to prepare the skin to absorb products well to follow and boosting their effectiveness”
For someone who has combination skin, before using this toner I would occasionally have a few dry spots here and there. After using this, the dryness never came back and my face has never felt dry again. In terms of my oily T-zone there wasn’t much change to that after a few months of usage and I personally didn’t find that it kept my pimples away. I wasn’t a huge fan of the smell of this but other people seem to like it so that aspect will be up to personal preference. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this toner to people who have sensitive skin and/or dry skin! For myself with combination skin, I am not sure if I would repurchase this again or not but I may give it a go again sometime in the future!

COLOURPOP: Ultra Blotted (DOOZY & ZUMA) and Blotted Lip (CANDYFLOSS & DRIP) Swatches ♡
Tumblr media
When Colourpop released their blotted lips and ultra blotted lips, I knew I had to get some! I had used the Alexis Ren x Colourpop collab blotted lip in Deja Vu and fell in love with the colour and texture. I only picked 4 of the products in total. From the Ultra Blotted line I picked Doozy and Zuma. For the Blotted line, I picked Candyfloss and Drip. It’s honestly no surprise that I would pick these colours haha. My skintone is light-medium warm + very yellow and all four of these shades suit it very well!
I prefer this style of finish so much more than their ultra mattes and even ultra satin! But that’s because I prefer more natural every day lip looks and these are perfect for that. The great thing about these is that you can apply less for a more soft look or build it up to make the colour pop more! They are very pigmented and are very comfortable on the lips.
Let’s start with the Blotted lips! “Sheer matte lipstick that creates the perfect popsicle pout! Formula is lightweight, matte and buildable for light to medium coverage.”
Tumblr media
Both swatches are from one swipe. Candyfloss is a warm terracotta colour, while Drip is a warm rosey mauve.
Now onto the Ultra Blotted lips! “A medium coverage matte lipstick that creates a soft, diffused look. It is completely transfer-proof and long-wearing but also lightweight and comfortable. No cracking or flaking! Leaves lips smooth and fresh.”
Tumblr media
The ultra blotted lips are in liquid form and these swatches are also from one swipe. Doozy is a warm rose colour, and Zuma is another warm rosey mauve but less mauvey compared to Drip from the Blotted lip line.
Here are the swatches side by side ⬇
Tumblr media
BLOTTED LIP SWATCHES
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ULTRA BLOTTED LIP SWATCHES
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For more fuller looking results, I would recommend using a lip liner - which I didn’t use in these swatches :P
Tumblr media
♡ Pigmentation 10/10 ♡ Wearable every day colours  ♡ Colour is buildable  ♡ Ultra Blotted is transfer proof (Blotted has slight transfer)  ♡ Lightweight and comfortable on the lips   ♡ Easy to apply and to remove
Tumblr media
✖︎ The packaging for the Blotted lips are quite flimsy ✖︎ The tube of the Ultra Blotted ones were clearly not full ✖︎ Doozy can accentuate dry patches
I am so so happy about all four shades and I highly recommend these two lines. They are not as long lasting as the Ultra Matte or Ultra Satin but that doesn’t bother me at all. For those with dry lips, make sure to exfoliate or apply lip balm because these can feel a bit drying.
Happy Colourpop-ing! Hopefully they restock the ones that are sold out asap :D

COSRX: Acne Pimple Master Patch Review ♡
Tumblr media
I don’t know why but since the beginning of this year, I keep getting pimples on my forehead and they never seem to go away 😡  some pimples were pretty aggressive and even my trusty Innisfree bija treatment essence couldn’t calm them down so I decided to give these patches a go.
Basically these patches prevent secondary infection by blocking out germs and dust with hydrocolloid and quickens the recovery of your ‘wound’ a.k.a your pimple. It does this mainly by sucking up the oil secretion.
Each pack comes with 24 spot patches, of 3 different sizes to suit the needs of your pimples. You could save the smallest ones for when you go out because they are less noticeable and leave the huge ones for when it’s a stay-at-home day. But I still went out with the huge one anyway 😅
Tumblr media
The patches themselves are very sticky and feel soft and rubbery. I was worried about breaking them at first but they are very firm and adhere to your skin very well.
Keep reading to see the rest of the review :3
The instructions are pretty straightforward ⬇
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ugly orange lighting is about to appear now 🙆🏻  The pimple I showcase below was extremely aggressive. I forgot to take a photo of the pimple before putting the patch on, oops!
Tumblr media
In the morning, this pimple was huge and red. After 12 hours of wear, it decreased in size and is much less red and intense as it was in the beginning.
Tumblr media
As per the instructions on the sheet earlier, the sheet will change to white as the oily secretions are sucked up and this was evident. Pretty satisfying to see!
Tumblr media
This pimple of mine didn’t disappear and I could have used another patch after the first one, which would have helped it more. BUT, it has decreased in its size and is healing (slowly on its own) so I’m happy about that.

In terms of what it says on the package “heals acne blemishes and prevents further breakouts”, I found that it did not prevent further breakouts. I got another pimple slightly slower than this one the next day 😤  That was obviously just another pimple that didn’t have anything to do with the patches. Overall, I’m very very happy with these patches because they do reduce my pimples and you do see results with them! However, they obviously aren’t a magic weapon that will make your pimple disappear completely with one usage. The effectiveness will depend on how aggressive your pimple is. I use the Innisfree bija spot treatment essence during the healing process and that works very well. I am definitely going to purchase more. If you’ve been thinking about whether or not to get these, GET THEM.
Until next time,

ETUDE HOUSE [Pink Bird]: March Box Unboxing ♡
Tumblr media
Happy March! It’s been a long long while since I’ve made a post so thank you to those who have stuck around and hello to the new friends and cosmetic lovers! I’ve been settling into a new uni and new job alongside my two volunteer jobs so it’s been quite busy for me! Also, the weather has been horrible so it’s hard to find days where there will be good lighting 😒
This month’s box is short and sweet! Apologies about the quality of the photos in this month’s box - the lighting was not friends with me. Also, I’m trying out a more simple layout for this month’s box just to change it up a bit :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was not told that I would be receiving sheet masks so it was a surprise to see these in the box. These are the 0.2 Therapy Air Pack Sheet Masks. I received Pomegranate (Vitalizing), Hyaluronic Acid (Deep Moisturising), and Pearl (Tone-up Vitalizing). Sheet masks are a staple in any beauty junkie’s drawers and these are super affordable. I am quite picky with my sheet masks so I wasn’t a huge fan of these in terms of the sheet itself - it’s very thin, which made it difficult to handle and the sheet was drenched in essence so it dripped quite a bit. However, looking beyond these factors, I would recommend these to beginners and anyone who is out to pamper themselves with a sheet mask at the end of the day.
Keep reading for the rest of the post :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is a mini trial kit of their new skincare line - Soon Jung. Soon Jung means “pure love” in Korean and this line is aimed at protecting damaged and sensitive skin from external stimulants like chemicals and dust. I got sent 4 sample sized items to try.
Use the items from left to right. This line is free of 10 toxic ingredients - animal-derived ingredients, mineral oil, pigments, synthetic perfume, polyacrylamide, silicon, imidazolidinyl urea (whatever this is haha), triethalomine, PEG surfactant, and parabens.
None of these have any scentl
Tumblr media
SOON JUNG Relief Toner: The texture of this toner is the same as water. It’s lightweight and I found it to be very hydrating. You will definitely need to use a cotton pad for this because of how watery it is. It’s advertised as a ph5.5 toner so I shall trust it :P
SOON JUNG Moist Emulsion: Emulsion is a very light moisturiser that is tends to be more watery. This absorbed quickly into my skin but it wasn’t moisturising enough for me so I would pair it with another moisturiser. This would work for those with oily skin because it’s so lightweight but for those with dry skin, I would recommend another layer of moisturiser on top.
SOON JUNG 2x Barrier Intensive Cream: This was a thicker cream but not overly thick. This one was hydrating and I used it as my night cream during the trial period and found that it took longer to absorb so I was left with a sticky gooey feeling on my skin.
SOON JUNG Cica Balm: Cica balms are meant to protect the skin from irritants. This one contains Panthenol and Madecassoside to heal damaged and irritated skin. I used this on my forehead where I had lots of breakouts and I felt it did calm them down. The texture of this is more lightweight than the Barrier Intensive Cream.
Overall, this line gave me a positive first impression. If you’re someone who is looking for a basic skincare routine that can calm your skin then this would be a good one to go for. I would recommend this to beginners because it’s affordable, plus it’s free of 10 toxic ingredients! I think the Cica balm would be a good addition for those who have sensitive skin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but certainly not least, are the Dear My Glass Tingting Lips-Talk lip tints. This range can be pretty dangerous because it’s all about mix and matching to your personal taste! There are 20 cases and 20 colours to choose from! You might want to stay away from this line if you’re indecisive and want it all 😂 Unfortunately you have to buy the case and lip tint separately.
Tumblr media
The cases I got were (from left to right): #11 Girl Spirit, #15 Love Flamingo, and #7 Pixel Dinosaurs. The pixel dinosaur one is my favourite!
The colours I got were PK003 (Romantic Frill Pink), RD302 (Swag Red), and BR402 (Bohemian Rosy Brown)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PK003 is a bright cool tone pink colour. (I need to retake a photo of this because it doesn’t look pink at all 😑)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
RD302 is a bright cool tone red colour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BR402 is a rosy brown colour - not exactly nude.
Tumblr media
The texture of these lip tints are like lip balm. In fact, they’re pretty much like a very pigmented lip balm! Great for on-the-go - It’s quick and easy to apply. I like how pigmented it is and it is also buildable! It leaves a nice stain on your lips after it wears off. The transfer is very high though, which I don’t really like because it gets everywhere. For example, if I accidentally touch my lips; hello transfer. If you don’t eat or drink, you could probably get around 4 hours wear out of this.
Tumblr media
♔ Very pigmented  ♔ Moisturising  ♔ Lightly stains the lips  ♔ Easy to wear and throw on
Tumblr media
✖︎ Transfers easily  ✖︎ Not long lasting
Tumblr media
This was a sweet and simple box! I was surprised to see 3 lip colours inside when I was only expecting 1. BR402 is definitely my favourite out of the 3 lip tints and I have been wearing it out quite often. However, I don’t use the other colours because cool tones don’t suit me 😒
See you in my next post,

LABIOTTE: Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint All 6 Colours Review ♡
Tumblr media
These products were sent to me by bbcosmetic for review purposes but opinions are 100% honest and my own.
Helloo ✌︎ I’m back with another review! This is another long ass post so I hope you enjoy it 😋
If you’re into the kbeauty world, you would have already heard about these wine lip tints. There was quite a rave about them because they incorporate wine extract imported from France, and of course because they are shaped like wine bottles! Can’t get any cuter than that. You can buy these from bbcosmetic and use my coupon code MelissaBBcos for 8% off any purchase :D bbcosmetic offer free worldwide shipping with no minimum purchase required.
So I was really excited to try these because even though I had heard about these tints, I never actually looked into them or looked at reviews of them. I had fun testing them out and in the end, there were 2 colours that were my favourite. Keep reading to see which colours they were!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brand: Chateau Labiotte Type: Tint  Net Weight: 7g
What it is  “Labiotte brings us their line of luxurious and currently-trending Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tints, packaged in the most adorable miniature wine bottles! Housed within is a beautiful, moisturizing, and deeply-pigmented lip tint formulated with premium Wine Extract imported from France. Lips are perfectly conditioned, not sticky, and thoroughly hydrated, as nutrients are absorbed into the skin, for the loveliest wine-stained sheen. This rich lip tint is meant to be long-lasting.”
Claims • Long-lasting  • Highly pigmented  • Moisturising  • Non-sticky texture
Colours There are 6 colours in the range and I will review them in the following order:
Tumblr media
PK01 Blush Pink CR01 Rose Coral  OR01 Chardonnay Orange  RD01 Shiraz Red  RD02 Nebbiolo Red  RD03 Merlot Burgundy
Tumblr media
It comes in a black plastic wine-looking bottle and the lid reflects the colour of the product.
Tumblr media
This is what the applicator looks like. I’m only showing one here because they all look the same anyway 😛  The applicator is soft and flexible, and depending on the colour this can make it application easier or harder.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are the swatches of all 6 colours. Now onto the lip swatch and review of each colour!
Tumblr media
PK01 (blush pink) is a subtle rosey pink. True to its description, it’s a “barely there pink shade”.
Opacity: Very sheer  Staining: Poor Long lasting: No  Sticky: Slightly
This is one of the shades I personally liked because of how subtle it is. It’s suitable for everyday wear and gives your lips a really nice healthy glow to it. It was easy to remove and did not stain my lips very well (but I don’t mind). This one is very easy work with.
The lid of the wine bottle does reflect the colour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CR01 (rose coral) is a mix between rose and coral, as the name says haha. This one is also quite subtle compared to the rest but a bit more pigmented than PK01 above.
Opacity: Sheer  Staining: Average  Long lasting: No  Sticky: No
This colour doesn’t suit my warm skin tone that well but it is a nice rosey coral. It does a fair job at staining the lips but is also easy to remove because it is still quite sheer. This one is also very easy to work with.
The lid of the wine bottle reflects the colour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, now for the really intense shade! OR01 (chardonnay orange) is a really vibrant orange shade with a sliiight hint of red.
Opacity: Very opaque  Staining: INTENSE Long lasting: Yes  Sticky: Slightly
Because it is so opaque and intense, you have to be careful with application. This one can get messy to work with. It’s not something you can throw on when you’re in a hurry because the staining power is so strong. It’s difficult to remove and does a darn good job at staining your lips.
The lid of the wine bottle does reflect the colour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Onto the reds now. The first reddy shade is RD01 (shiraz red), which is a vibrant bright red.
Opacity: Very opaque  Staining: STRONG  Long lasting: Yes  Sticky: Slightly
This one is the most vibrant of all the shades but in a flattering way. This one is your classic red. In terms of staining, it stains reaaal good (or bad if you wanna look at it that way because it’s a pain to remove). Because of how intense it is in terms of colour and stain, it can get messy to work with.
The lid of the wine bottle does reflect the colour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
RD01 (nebbiolo red) is a red but with a hint of purple that creates a semi berry shade. It’s not completely berry but not fully red either.
Opacity: Not as opaque as RD01 and OR01 but has good opacity  Staining: Very good  Long lasting: Yes  Sticky: No
This colour is a nice shade of red for those who don’t want anything as bright and intense as RD01 above. This colour would be great for autumn but can work for summer and spring. The staining is very good but not as intense as RD01 and OR01. It is also quite difficult to remove this one.
The lid of the wine bottle does not reflect the colour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but not least, because this is my favourite one out of all of them - RD03 (merlot burgundy) is the deepest shade in the collection. The description online says it’s a bold, vibrant, class red lip but in real life it actually leans more purple and more berry-like.
Opacity: Sheer Staining: Average  Long lasting: No Sticky: No
Like I said, this one is my #1 favourite out of all the colours. I can see myself wearing this in the upcoming autumn a lot. This one is easy to work with, non sticky but doesn’t last a long time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My final thoughts on these is that there are some good ones, and some not so good ones. But it is really up to what you look for in a lip tint - whether that may be you want a natural stain vs. very intense stain or something natural vs. vibrant.
♔ I picked PK01 (rose pink) and RD03 (merlot burgundy) as my two favourite shades because they are more subtle and natural, and are easy to apply and remove.
✖︎ One thing I really don’t like about these tints is the taste of them. It is probably meant to taste like wine considering there is wine extract incorporated into the product but the taste is pretty strong and weird. I personally prefer my lip products to not taste like anything.
So we’ve reached the end of this post! If you’re interested in these lip tints, you can get them from bbcosmetic.com :) They’re always doing giveaways on their instagram and they’re currently holding an “SNS Review & 10% Store Credit” event on their website. This is where you review the product(s) that you bought from them and in return you’ll get 10% store credit.  Thank you again to bbcosmetic for sending me these to review!
If you’ve made it to the end, thank you for sticking through this review! I will see you in the next one,

ETUDE HOUSE [Pink Bird] February Box: Wonder Fun Park Line Swatches & Review ♡
Tumblr media
Hi hi ✌︎. It’s that time of the month again...no, not that time of the month, it’s Pink Bird box time! For February’s box, I decided to go through all the products in one post just to change it up a bit and also because all the products don’t really require a super in depth review. This month’s theme is from their new line Wonder Fun Park and it is beyond adorable. I loove theme parks so they have definitely won me over with their concept and packaging! But of course it’s the product performance that is most important.
Here is the list of products I got sent this month from the line:
• Dear Darling Soda Tint [PK001 & BL601]  • Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara [Pang Pang Purple] • Candy Highlighter  • Highlighter Brush
Etude House were lovely to send me some extra goodies for my birthday month and I’ve shown them at the end of this post but I will do a separate review on some of those products in the future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First up we have two Dear Darling Soda Tints. There are 10 colours, with 6 being cool toned pink and reds, and 4 warm tone oranges and corals. I was sent 2 cool tone colours: PK001 and BL601.
Keep reading for the swatches and reviews :3
Packaging They both come in clear plastic tubes with a mint green screw on cap.
Tumblr media
Claims  • Bright and clear colour expression • Smudge-free, close adherence to lips  • Dewy moisturising texture
The applicator has a heart shaped tip and actually picks up a lot of product. You’ll be able to see each of the applicators below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s start with PK001.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PK001 is a bright pinky red colour. It looks extremely bright in the tube and the swatch but it’s actually not too bad when you apply it.
Unfortunately the application is really streaky and you can see it how it just looks like a layer of product on my lips in the photo below. The tint doesn’t stay put and moves around as I was trying to get it settle. At this point it feels slippery on the lips. I used my finger to try and even it out afterwards but all that did was transfer the product to my finger 😩
Tumblr media
Sooo I decided to do a kiss test - which is basically where you use a tissue to get rid of excess product. It looks much nicer and more natural afterwards. The staining power is average so it was easy to remove.
Tumblr media
NEEEEXT.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BL601 is a purpleish bluey colour in the tube but when you apply it, it’s very sheer and looks more like a gloss. It looks very shimmery and from the tube, I assumed it would be an actual blue-purpley colour it actually changes colour when it’s on your lips.
This one I was skeptical about at first but I actually like this one a lot more than PK001. The effect you get looks like the Dior lip glow but with some sparkle. I didn’t need to do a kiss-test with this one. As you can see from the photo below, it gives a nice soft glow to my lips - quite pretty!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On to the mascara! There are 2 colours: Purple and Mint. Mint looks more turquoise to be honest from the photo. I got sent purple and I fun testing it.
This is my first time trying an Etude House mascara, meaning I can’t compare it to other mascaras they have, sooo I will give my first impressions on it based on what I look for in mascaras.
It claims to have a 24 hour curling and waterproof effect. You get 8g of product.
Tumblr media
IT’S SO CUUTE. Does anyone like riding the pirate ship? I used to hate it when I was younger but now I could go on it and endless number of times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“This is a curl fix mascara that completes powerfully curled up, long-lasting fine eyelashes with its strong adherence on drooped lashes.”
Basically that means this mascara should have a curling effect on your lashes without needing to use a curler and the effect should be long-lasting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is the wand! This is their C-curl brush made with “densed elastic white hair”. The shape of this brush is meant to give a natural curl without needing to use a curler.
On the box it’s directions say there are 2 steps.  Step 1: use the inner surface of the curve starting from the root of the eyelashes and work it to the tip. This is how you get the curling effect.
Step 2: use the outer surface of the curve to lightly touch the tip of the eyelashes in order to lengthen and thicken them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With one layer it took a few tries and even then I couldn’t coat the inner corner area. It takes a while for the colour to really show but I didn’t want to poke around the inner area too much so that’s why there’s nothing there (sorry haha).
The consistency was really wet for a mascara so it doesn’t coat my lashes evenly. I’m pretty sure I don’t have as many lashes as it looks in the photos because with other mascaras, it definitely doesn’t look feathery.
Tumblr media
(I added some plum coloured eyeshadow in the second photo unless you couldn’t tell 😋 )
With another layer on, the mascara becomes really clumpy and not so flattering. It hardened my lashes and it also felt like I just had glue on. I think I could get away with wearing it on the lower lashes to add a pop of cuteness.
Tumblr media
✌︎ Vibrant purple colour - super fun!  ✌︎ Little curling effect
Tumblr media
✖︎ Colour doesn’t adhere to the lashes well  ✖︎ Makes lashes look clumpy and feathery ✖︎ Hard to coat inner lashes  ✖︎ Hardens the lashes  ✖︎ Can be difficult to remove
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you guys are in on the latest beauty trends, you will know that there was this trend going on with rainbow highlighters. It looks like Etude House have come up with their own rainbow highlight and it looks delicious 😅  I’ll talk about the highlighter first then mention the brush later on.
Tumblr media
Once again cute af packaging!
Tumblr media
The highlighter consists of 5 pastel shades that should blend together to create a beautiful highlight. You get 7.5 of product.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where do I begin with this highlighter :/ To be completely honest I can’t find anything good to say about it. In the photo it doesnt look too too bad but in real life it really just looks like a streak of white glittery chalk on my cheeks. It’s very powdery and chalky looking. While it does give that highlight effect on my cheeks, it doesn’t look natural. The highlight itself doesn’t last long and it can be easily rubbed off.
There are a lot of fall outs if you use a brush that isn’t dense enough.
Tumblr media
✌︎ Cute packaging
Tumblr media
✖︎ Chalky ✖︎ Powdery  ✖︎ Unnatural looking  ✖︎ Lots of fallout   ✖︎ Does not last long
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last product from the Wonder Fun Park line in this box is the highlighter brush. This is a true unicorn-like brush xD the handle is white and the bristles have 3 pastel colours - supposedly to match with the highlight.
Unfortunately this brush doesn’t work well at all with the highlight because the hairs are very sparse and are too long. The bristles are soft though, but the brush just doesn’t pick up anything.
Instead, I would use this brush for powder or to stipple out cream blushers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Check out reviews from other Pink Bird bloggers here (ongoing update):
▷ Yennie’s review here ▷ Sophie’s review here  ▷ Mindy’s review here  ▷ Kirsty’s review here ▷ Kathy’s reviews highlighter & brush, mint mascara, lip tints
Tumblr media
Finally, because March is my birthday month, Etude House were lovely to send me some extra goodies for my birthday! I’ll show them here for anyone that’s interested to see but I will do a review on the lip and eyeshadow products separately in the future :D
Tumblr media
That’s it for the February box! That’s already 2 boxes down. Final thoughts: these products from Wonder Fun Park line are super adorable but the product performance is quite poor. Out of all the products that I received, I would probably only use the Dear Darling Soda Tints again.
If you’ve made it to the end of this long post, you’re crazy. Just kidding. If you have, thank you! This is definitely the longest post I’ve ever made and it was a challenge for me to not get lost within my own post haha.
I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the March box! Until next time,
