so if the implication is that the only reason prussia is still alive is because he's hanging around germany (and it's canon that nations can artificially extend the lives of creatures around them...)
...do you think germany (despite all of his whining) gets incredibly upset when he's away from prussia for too long. you KNOW he's counting the seconds, wondering if they add up over time... and you know he cares about it way more than prussia does
germany comes back after a week (!) work trip and immediately turns into a medical questionnaire. have you experienced any of the following: lightheadedness. nausea. feeling of Dying. and prussia just waves him off with a smile "i spent all your money on beer, the only thing i feel is hungover."
like. they're kicking the can down the road here. they both know it but only one of them has come to peace with it

to the England anon wdym 'woobifying colonial powers is lunatic Fujo behavior', it's literally fucking anime characters, they ARE cutesy little guys based on national stereotypes, they're not absolute representative of whatever the country has done. I don't even gaf about England but jeez are you daft. Practically every country represented hetalia has done questionable things (colonisation and more) and that doesn't stop people from 'woobifying' them
I think that's an oversimplification, because while they are cutesy little guys that are based in part on national stereotypes, that's not all that they are.
In the source material they act as metaphorical representations of countries and are used as stand-ins for those countries' people and leadership to portray historical events and present day politics. This is part of Hetalia's canon.
They're not just anime characters that are a stereotypical portrayal of a person from the countries they represent, they are the countries they represent and in that sense they're more akin to characters used to represent things in political cartoons.
It's okay for people to be uncomfortable with and criticize how a character that is meant to represent a colonial power is portrayed in the canon or fanon of a work. I think there is always going to be a conversation to be had about how Hetalia and its fandom handles this and how an author's biases and whitewashing (not as in skin lightening, but as in representing a country and portraying parts of its history, while ignoring other parts because they're unsavory) factors in.
It's not a simple discussion because it's going to vary a lot from person to person where they draw the line between appropriate and inappropriate, especially for something intended to be a comedy.
Sorry for the lengthy response and especially if the take just meant to express frustration with people placing all of a nation's misdeeds onto these characters that are, indeed, silly, and not personally responsible within Hetalia's canon for things like colonialism, but saying that they're not representative things the country has done is wrong.
