Two human voices... two very inhuman movements to match. She opened her eyes. Correction - two human-like voices. The two - creatures? Magical beasts? Beings? - in front of her could not be called human. To her credit, she blinked only twice before regaining herself.
"Thank you," she replied with a bow of her head and a somewhat humble tone. It was a chance to quietly assess them - to figure out if their heartbeats were decipherable. Until she knew that, it was best to be cautious. She suspected a similar line of thought was running through the head of the man with the curious antennae peaking through his bangs.
"It's nothing more than a good ear, I'm afraid." And if the slip of nen she felt was any indication, they were the exceptional ones. "This is probably a bit of a rude question but -" A single moment of hesitation - "What... are you? You aren't human, but you seem closer to that than any other thing I can think of."
âŚ..

Multiple footsteps, multiple heartbeats - and not a single one she knew. How strange. She didnât recall being asked to meet with anyone by Mr. Nostrade, and she was sure she hadnât forgotten anything either.
"Can I help you?" she said. Best to let her words hang in the air - let those who were interested in her answer them.

That was far more accurate than she cared to admit to. "Maybe ~" she said mischievously - there was no better way to deflect attention, after all. "I prefer to think of it as a combination of two disciplines."
"Ah." She wouldn't remark on how appropriate was for an assassin to delve into what was essentially people-hunting. Senritsu was sure he knew, anyway. "I'm sure you'll be good at it - or whatever else you choose to be. Hmm..." She tapped her chin thoughtfully. "If you don't mind me giving you advice, Killua - I would suggest for you to see if you can pick up a few contracts through the Hunter Association to explore a few more fields before you make any final decisions. Conversely, is there anything you know you don't want to be?"
An affirming nod - what else was there to say? Kurapika would come when he did.
⌠Hopefully sooner rather than later.
"A Music Hunter!" Senritsu said rather cheerfully - she hadnât expected him to be interested so much in her, after all. He was rather withdrawn compared to his friend. âHopefully a Black List one as well. âBlack List Music Hunterâ is a bit long, but I think it has a bit of a ring to it. How about you, Killua? Have you decided what youâll apply to be, yet?â

"If you're - sure -" Senritsu sent the stranger a curious glance. He didn't seem quite satisfied with how their interaction had ended... but it was none of her business.
Well, at least she wouldn't consider it to be if his heart calmed down within the next five minutes.
"If you have anywhere in mind, I'll follow," she chirped - though she was sure his answer would be something along the lines of anywhere away from that guy.
Interruption or not, this was probably good timing. Heâd gotten too carried away. After shooting one last glare at the other guy, Leorio turned around and sighed. There was no good in keeping anyone waiting. Shoving both hands in his pockets, he walked towards Senritsu.

"Itâs nothing, I was just about done with him. Letâs head somewhere else for a bit."

A bakery solicitor? Well, that was a first. She opened her mouth to turn him down, but her stomach made its disagreement loudly known.
"... Well, I suppose that strawberry bread sounds different." She peered up at him, hoping to encourage a smile from him with one of her own. He looked disinterested - but his heart told a different tale. "Which would you recommend?"
More strange heartbeats. Where in the world were all these people coming from?
"May I help you?"

"Kagetane," she said quietly to herself. It wasn't familiar - not in an immediate or distant sense. More strange things about this man...
"Oh - there's no need for that!" But he was already in his deep bow. It wasn't often that Senritsu saw a gentlemanly figure - especially in her line of work. Was she supposed to curtsey back? Return the bow?
Well, that was an⌠interesting way of putting it. Fortunately, she had had plenty of time to get over her appearance.
"Senritsu," she said simply. Speaking of appearances, his was rather strange - and he had a choice about it. It didnât quite seem fair. âA name for a name, sir?â

"Yes," she said vaguely. There was a hint of sadness in her expression. "They certainly are."
Senritsu glanced up at her. "But that's a topic for another time. It's too nice a day to spoil! Ah, I meant to ask - is your home far from the city? Will you be alright getting there on your own once we're there?"
"More than Iâd like," she admitted. "Unfortunately, itâs just part of the job I have. When you have goals in mind, sometimes small comforts need to be sacrificedâŚ"
She smiled immediately - there was no reason to let the mood drop. âOf course, Iâve never had such a reaction to being in the city for so long. Hopefully you have something that keeps you away from the city for as long as you can manage!â

"It's just as the title says! It signifies that my targets are primarily music paraphernalia. For example... the Devil's Fiddle. That would be an example of something I would search for, if I was so inclined." It was best not to mention the Dark Sonata, she thought. As much as she knew she was trustworthy, it was safer for her if fewer people knew.
... Perhaps Kurapika was rubbing off on her. In this regard, that probably wasn't a good thing.
"I think that would be safest guess," she said. "He... has been more withdrawn." His heartbeat had picked up slightly. She frowned. As much as she wanted to share news about him to Kurapika's good friends, she didn't like worrying them either. "I try not to guess at his thoughts without seeing him in person, but I have a few theories."
Gonâs eyes glimmered. âThatâs amazing, Senritsu-san! What does a Music Hunter do?â he asked. âAnd youâll be able to pull that off for sure!â Even though he was a professional hunter, he didnât know what type of Hunter he would specifically like to be. He liked going on adventures, making new friends, nature and animals. He was still young, so he figured he had the time to figure it out soon. Now, he was just happy he could do what he wanted.
He folded his arms against his chest and made a âooohâ sound. His eyes blinked a few times and raised his head. âWhat? Thereâs something else heâs doing aside from this job?â He bit his thumb nervously. âMaybe itâs related to his vengeance against the Spiders, as well as his clanâs scarlet eyes.âÂ
It didnât make sense. Why would Kurapika do such an important mission without his friends? He could always rely on their help. Was that why he never answered their calls even once? âWhy would Kurapika do that on his own? Heâs giving himself a hard timeâŚâ

"The pleasure is mine! No matter how short it may be." Likely no longer than this walk; Senritsuâs work tended to have her in more urban areas. "Will you need more water? Weâll be passing a public fountain soon."

"Lule," she said slowly. "That's a very pretty name - I don't think I've heard it before. If you don't mind me asking, where does it originate from?"
The poor girl seemed to be debating on staying or going. As long as she stayed here, Senritsu would be sure to keep her from feeling too out of place. A friend of Kurapika's was always welcome around her.
"For Kurapika?"
That was a surprise. She didnât realize Kurapika had told anyone besides the few friends she knew about where he worked. Belatedly, Senritsu realized she should check her heartbeat to make sure the package was safe.
"Is there a name I can give to him with this?"

Senritsu shrugged a bit helplessly. âI can tell him the next time I see him. Unfortunately, heâs not very good at returning mine either - and the little time he spends here, we donât have much time to chat. But I will make sure I pass it on.â
Killua was much harder to read than his friend - outwardly, anyway. For better or worse, Senritsu was near-impossible to fool.
"Donât worry yourself too much about it," she said, giving him a cheer-up! sort of smile. "He can only keep himself busy for so long."

Oh good. She'd been spotted.
"Leorio," she replied, beaming. Who was the man with? Certainly no one she'd ever seen before - and apparently someone Leorio wished he hadn't seen, based on his boisterous song she could hear from him. Perhaps she had come at the perfect time. "It's been - ah! Am I interrupting something?"
moneyxeverything started following you
Honestly, it was the loud voice that clued her in - the unique heartbeat was just a bonus. Hearing it still made her smile, though. A melody like that was far rarer than it ought to be.
Standing on her tiptoes, Senritsu waved at the doctor as best as she could. Hopefully heâd notice her despite her height (and lack of it).

"I'm glad to hear it!" Funny, how he knew exactly the details she wanted to know. It did make her wonder exactly what he did do with his days off though - perhaps hole himself up in a library? He did love reading.
Still, though - what was that discordant noise, then? It wasn't often that she made mistakes, but she was only human. Her bias may have been playing into her quick judgment. If she didn't know any better, she would have guessed it was - but this was Kurapika. Certainly it wasn't...
Outright questioning it was, then.
"You still don't seem content. You should be happy, Kurapika. Is there something else bothering you?"
For the first few minutes, she didnât say anything - both enjoying the noises in their environment and giving him a chance to say something unprompted. When he didnât say anything, she took that as her cue - his mind was obviously somewhere else, and it wasnât an altogether pleasant place.
"Youâve been taking more days off lately," she noted quietly. "Basho and Eliza have been asking about you. Even Linssen spoke up, and you know how rare it is for him to say anything. Have your⌠extracurricular activities been going well?"
Careful wording as always, but it was well-warranted - and she was sure Kurapika appreciated it. Saying the phrase âscarlet eyesâ out loud was as stupid as it was dangerous.
