Best picture I could snap of the inmates at South Bay Correction putting their hands up with the protestors at the Boston protest tonight. The crowd broke into cries of “we see you!” and “black lives matter!” One of the inmates wrote Mike Brown’s name on the glass, through the bars.

This moment will stay with me for as long as I live.

Images of protests in both the US and Mexico. There are no words to fully describe how I feel about everything that’s going on. Outrage. Pain. Anger. Impotence. Heart-break. It’s a sad realization that the world we live in is so fucked-up. 

We live in a world where a government can take 43 students, kill them and burn their bodies without holding anyone accountable.

We live in a world where a white man can shoot an unarmed teenager and walk away, as if no crime was committed.

We live in a world where I was not surprised at all when the government couldn’t give any answers about the whereabouts and the killing of 43 students.

We live in a world where I was not surprised when no criminal charges were brought against Darren Wilson.

We live in a world where there’s impunity, injustice, corruption and racism, and those who speak out against it become criminals. 

If you are not angered over this, you’re not paying enough attention. If you are not outraged, you are blatantly ignoring the reality of all that’s happening. If you’re not terrified, you’re privileged and should acknowledge it. You can’t be apathetic towards situations like these.
