Transformers: Animated: Shadows of Redemption-Seasons 3-4

Art and Fanfic AU by MelSpyRose
SEASON 3:
Chapter 40: Fire in the Sky
Megatron is frustrated now that he doesn't have his son, Orion Eclipse, as his heir or Starscream as his second-in-command since they've betrayed him. But then, Jhiaxus arrives and he offers to help Megatron and his Decepticons with their quest for revenge. Meanwhile, Knockout talks to his partner, Breakdown, about his past friendship with Starscream and he even mentions how Starscream was betrayed by his former friend, Skyfire, who renounced the Decepticons and joined the Autobots during the Great Autobot-Decepticon War. Jhiaxus tells Megatron that he can be his new second-in-command if he can help him destroy Optimus Prime and claim both the Allspark and the Matrix of Leadership.
Optimus Prime and his team of Autobots return to Earth which they've considered to be their second home where they find a frozen Autobot in the Arctic Circle. They thaw him out of the block of ice and the Autobot introduces himself as Skyfire. Meanwhile, Starscream, Slipstream, and their fellow Seekers plan on overthrowing Megatron so that the Decepticons can have a new leader since Megatron has become dangerously powerful and unhinged after Blackarachnia turned him into a triple-changer. Meanwhile, Optimus Prime and his team of Autobots bring Skyfire back to their base in Detroit where they introduce Skyfire to Sari Sumdac.
As it turns out, Optimus Prime and the Autobots have been collecting the techno-organic Energon over the past few months and they've had Decepticon encounters because the Decepticons want to collect the techno-organic Energon for Megatron to use for his schemes. Now that it seems that all the techno-organic Energon has been collected while most of them were stolen by the Decepticons, they now have to come up with a plan to make sure that Megatron doesn't try to destroy the Earth again. Skyfire decides to join Optimus Prime and his team on their mission to protect the Earth and humanity from the evil forces of the Decepticons.
When our heroes head over to a forest, Starscream and his clones come out of hiding and have Optimus Prime and his team outnumbered. When Starscream sees Skyfire, memories of Skyfire betraying Starscream and renouncing the Decepticons to join the Autobots cause the Seeker to go after Skyfire in an attempt to make him pay for betraying him many stellar cycles ago. Optimus Prime tries to stop Starscream and he tries to convince him and Slipstream to join the Autobots so that they can work on defeating Megatron once and for all, but Starscream and Slipstream refuse. Sari Sumdac knew that Slipstream being reformed was too good to be true as she just goes back to her evil ways and works with Starscream.
The Autobots fight the Seekers and Skyfire helps our heroes while at the same time, Starscream tries to destroy Skyfire as payback for betraying him many stellar cycles ago. When the City Speaker, Windblade, comes to help Optimus and his team fight off the Seekers, she saves Skyfire before Starscream kills him and Starscream fights Windblade and Skyfire before Starscream retreats with Slipstream and the Seekers. Afterward, Optimus Prime and his Autobot team return to the Autobot base to have Ratchet mend their injuries.
Chapter 41: The Decepticon Menace
Optimus Prime goes to an abandoned building to investigate a crime scene that Captain Fanzone spoke about when suddenly, Optimus Prime confronts a shadowy figure with piercing red eyes. To his shock, the figure reveals himself as Sentinel Prime, now reborn as the vengeful Decepticon renamed, Jhiaxus. Jhiaxus blames Optimus for his downfall as Sentinel Prime and vows to exact revenge on him, accusing him of stealing his girlfriend, Elita-One.
Despite Optimus's attempts to reason with him, Jhiaxus insists on his new identity and launches a fierce attack. The battle between them is intense, with Jhiaxus using his enhanced strength, claws, and lasers, while Optimus counters with his Energon axe and strategic prowess. Their fight spills out of the building into the moonlit night, highlighting their contrasting approaches—Jhiaxus's brute force against Optimus's determined resolve.
Optimus urges Jhiaxus to embrace redemption, but Jhiaxus, driven by anger and vengeance, refuses. Their clash continues, with Optimus leveraging his values of courage and compassion. The confrontation reaches a critical point at a nearby chemical factory, where Optimus leads Jhiaxus for a showdown.
As the power plant's machinery hums ominously, the battle escalates. Optimus's unwavering dedication to justice fuels his efforts, hoping to reach the remnants of Sentinel Prime within Jhiaxus. Despite Jhiaxus's taunts and fury, Optimus remains resolute, fighting not just for victory, but for the hope that even the darkest spark can find redemption. The clash between Optimus Prime and Jhiaxus becomes a pivotal struggle, with the fate of their world hanging in the balance.
Elita-One arrives just in time to aid Optimus Prime, drawing her weapon against Jhiaxus. Recognizing his former lover, Jhiaxus expresses surprise at her return to normalcy. Confused, Elita-One doesn't initially recognize him. Jhiaxus reveals their past and accuses her of choosing Optimus over him. When Elita-One realizes his identity, Jhiaxus angrily asserts his new persona. Their confrontation sets the stage for a complex battle, highlighting their deep personal history and transformed identities. Optimus Prime warns Elita-One to leave, but Jhiaxus attacks him. Elita-One confronts Jhiaxus, aiming her weapon at him. Jhiaxus taunts her and reveals Optimus Prime's involvement in Sentinel Prime's death and rebirth into Jhiaxus. Optimus Prime intervenes, but Jhiaxus threatens to conquer Cybertron and take Elita as his own. Elita asserts her independence.
Jhiaxus tells Elita-One and Optimus Prime that he is no longer Sentinel Prime and that he now works for Megatron as a Decepticon. Optimus Prime tries to reason with Jhiaxus, but Jhiaxus refuses to listen to reason as he tries to kidnap Elita-One so that he can force her to love him. Elita-One and Optimus Prime work together in fighting off Jhiaxus and the Decepticon flees after promising that he will return to exact his revenge on Optimus Prime. When Captain Fanzone asks Optimus Prime what had happened, Optimus explains that Sentinel Prime is back from the dead, but is now reborn as Jhiaxus!
Chapter 42: Confrontation
On Cybertron, Orion Eclipse reunites with his long-lost mother, Firestar, after believing her to be dead for many stellar cycles. Their emotional reunion reveals Megatron's deception, as Orion learns that his mother didn't perish at the hands of the Autobots but instead divorced Megatron and disappeared. Meanwhile, Optimus Prime grapples with guilt over Sentinel Prime's transformation into Jhiaxus, but Elita-One reassures him, emphasizing Sentinel's betrayal of his principles.
Optimus Prime starts to remember his childhood and he starts to remember his friendship with Sentinel Prime, Elita-One, and even Megatron. After some consideration, Optimus Prime decides that he should find and confront Jhiaxus. But when he arrived in Detroit, he found out that Jhiaxus attacked Professor Issac Sumdac and that he's been hospitalized and is now in a coma, leaving his daughter, Sari Sumdac to feel depressed and heartbroken and traumatized by what happened to her father. Optimus Prime decides to go after Jhiaxus and take him down to avenge Sari's father.
In the heart of Detroit, Optimus Prime confronts his former comrade-turned-nemesis, Jhiaxus, amidst the aftermath of Jhiaxus's brutal assault on Professor Issac Sumdac. As the two clash, emotions run high, with Optimus demanding answers and Jhiaxus harboring deep-seated resentment towards his former friend.
Despite Optimus's attempts to reach out and reconcile, Jhiaxus remains consumed by his thirst for revenge and his desire for power. The confrontation escalates into a fierce battle, with the fate of Earth and Cybertron hanging in the balance. As the echoes of their conflict fade into the night, Optimus Prime remains steadfast in his commitment to protecting the innocent and fighting for what's right, even in the face of overwhelming darkness.
Jhiaxus steals the Magnus Hammer from Optimus Prime and prepares to kill him. At that moment, Sari Sumdac, driven by the desire to avenge her father, attacks Jhiaxus with all her might. As she is about to defeat him, Optimus Prime intervenes to stop her. Taking advantage of the distraction, Jhiaxus transforms into a jet and escapes. Optimus Prime tells Sari Sumdac that seeking revenge won't save her father, but Sari refuses to let Jhiaxus get away with his crimes. Meanwhile, Jhiaxus swears to get his hands on the Allspark and the Matrix of Leadership and says that he won't rest until he gets what he wants.
Chapter 43: Blow Off Some Steam
Harold Attinger and the steampunk vigilante group S.T.E.A.M. return, along with the villain Meltdown. Attinger asks Meltdown to create a mutagen to transform him into a powerful robot-slaying machine. However, things go awry when the Autobots accidentally spill the mutagen on both Attinger and Meltdown, resulting in them becoming a combined steampunk and acid-powered golem monster.
Meanwhile, a mysterious police car frequently visits Sari, offering her comfort after the tragic events caused by Jhiaxus. Finding solace in her new friend and therapy pet, Sari later discovers that the police car is Prowl, who has been reborn as a police car. When the combined steampunk and acid-powered golem monster, dubbed "Acidsteam," attacks Detroit to lure the Autobots out of hiding, Prowl merges his Allspark spirit with the police car, returning to life. He joins forces with Optimus Prime and the Autobots to defeat Acidsteam and protect the city.
After working together to defeat Acidsteam, Optimus Prime and his Autobot and human friends are overjoyed to have their comrade, Prowl, back from the dead and with a new look. Prowl tells our heroes about his afterlife in the Allspark and how he's seen the future of things yet to come. After Prowl is reunited with the Autobots after coming back from the dead, he joins Optimus Prime and his team on their quest to safeguard the techno-organic Energon and to defeat Megatron and the Decepticons once and for all to save both Earth and Cybertron from their threats. Meanwhile, Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet gain a new goal of ending the rivalry between Decepticons and Autobots when they get transported to a distant planet during a battle with Henry Masterson and are met by the dragon Predacons and the true Predaking.
Chapter 44: A Head Start
When Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet encounter Predaking and the Predacons, the Predacon leader explains that they were transported to a distant planet by a mysterious space bridge portal that appeared in their prison cell. Faced with the challenge of returning to Earth, Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet must devise a plan to avoid being stranded in this new world. Suddenly, Henry Masterson, also known as The Headmaster, appears and takes control of Predaking's body, detaching Predaking's still-living head. Forced to team up with the Predacons, Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet must work together to reunite Predaking's head with his body, which has been stolen by The Headmaster.
After a fierce battle, Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet successfully defeat the Headmaster, reattaching Predaking's head to his body. In their search for a way back to Earth, they find another space bridge portal. As they prepare to leave, the Predacons express their gratitude and bid farewell to Orion and Altair. With Henry Masterson arrested by the police, the group steps through the portal, returning safely to Earth.
Chapter 45: Beast Wars
Megatron II has taken over as the new leader of the Predacons, while Optimus Primal leads a reformed group of Predacons now known as the Maximals. Meanwhile, a mysterious spider-like figure named Airachnid, who bears a striking resemblance to Blackarachnia, discovers Meltdown's former mutant pets and Colossus. Using techno-organic Energon, she transforms them into Predacons: Nightscream the bat, Hammerjaw the shark, and Stockade the pangolin-gorilla hybrid. However, Nightscream, once a troubled teen striving for redemption after his father's death, chooses to join the Maximals, determined not to repeat the dark path of his past.
Dinobot, disillusioned with Megatron II and the Predacons, defects to the Maximals along with his sister, Delta, who falls in love with their leader, Optimus Primal. Optimus Primal adopts the young and eager Cheetor as his foster son, creating a familial bond within the group. The Maximals learn about a powerful artifact called the Golden Disk, which they must secure before Megatron II and the Predacons can use it for their sinister plans to conquer Cybertron.
Embarking on a perilous quest, the Maximals race against time to find the Golden Disk. Dinobot's knowledge of Predacon tactics and Delta's support strengthened the team. Throughout their journey, they face numerous challenges and clashes with the Predacons. Cheetor, eager to prove himself, learns valuable lessons under Optimus Primal's guidance. In a final confrontation, the Maximals manage to secure the Golden Disk, thwarting Megatron II's schemes. This victory solidifies Dinobot and Delta's place among the Maximals, and strengthens the bonds within the team, guiding them towards a hopeful future for Cybertron.
Chapter 46: United We Stand, Divided We Fall
Jhiaxus, initially an ally to Megatron and his Decepticons, aids them in stealing techno-organic Energon from the Autobots and captures key figures like Slipstream, Starscream, and the Seekers. However, Jhiaxus soon reveals his true intentions by betraying and overthrowing Megatron, establishing himself as a formidable leader. With the Stunticons and Combaticons under his command, Jhiaxus forces the Decepticons into submission. In a surprising turn of events, Megatron survives and he gathers his minions and plans to ally with his nemesis, Optimus Prime, and the Autobots to thwart Jhiaxus's sinister plans. As Jhiaxus schemes to conquer Cybertron, seize the Allspark and Matrix of Leadership, and destroy Earth, Megatron and Optimus Prime unite their forces to stop him. Their alliance becomes crucial in preventing Jhiaxus from wielding ultimate power and ensuring the safety of both worlds.
The Stunticons combine into Menasor and the Combaticons combine into Bruticus as they've been sent by their new master, Jhiaxus, to destroy the Autobots and get the Allspark and the Matrix of Leadership. Optimus Prime and his Autobot team have found a way to combine into one Autobot combiner with Prowl as the sword, Jazz as the right arm, Optimus Prime as the torso, Bumblebee as the chest, Arcee as the left arm, Ratchet as the right leg, Bulkhead as the lower waist, and Ironhide as the left leg. Together, the Autobots combine into Autonomous Maximus. After defeating Bruticus and Menasor, Autonomous Maximus tries to defeat Jhiaxus, but he's proven too difficult to defeat as he easily defeats the Autobots before leaving.
Optimus Prime and his Autobots find themselves in the Sahara Desert, strategizing on how to defeat their arch-enemy, Jhiaxus, once and for all. Suddenly, Megatron arrives with Shockwave, Knockout, Breakdown, Blitzwing, Lugnut, and a squadron of Vehicon clone troopers. Despite the tension, Megatron surprises everyone by proposing a truce rather than a battle. Optimus cautiously engages with Megatron, questioning his motives and intentions. Megatron offers a compelling proposition: to join forces against their common enemy, Jhiaxus, whose threat looms large over Earth and the galaxy. Although skeptical, Optimus acknowledges the gravity of the situation and the potential benefits of an alliance.
As they negotiate terms, Megatron's desire for revenge against Jhiaxus becomes evident, driving his eagerness for cooperation. Despite their deep-rooted animosity, Optimus sees the necessity of putting aside past grievances for the greater good. After careful consideration, Optimus reluctantly agrees to Megatron's proposal, understanding that their alliance is temporary and fraught with risks. With the fate of Earth and Cybertron hanging in the balance, Optimus and Megatron embark on an uneasy partnership, knowing that betrayal could have dire consequences for both sides.
Chapter 47: Teamwork
Optimus Prime and his Autobot friends team up with their nemesis, Megatron, to defeat Jhiaxus. Meanwhile, Orion Eclipse spends some time with his mother, Firestar while his girlfriend, Altair Comet spends some time with her mother, Elita-One. Orion had learned where his mother had been all this time and Firestar had already explained to her son how she divorced Megatron and returned to the Autobots and how she wasn't allowed nor was she able to save Orion from his evil father. Firestar reveals to her son that he had a younger sister named Vespera and how she was much like her father. Firestar told Orion how Vespera turned to evil, renounced the Autobots, and joined the Decepticons.
Meanwhile, Altair Comet talks to her mother about how she and Orion Eclipse have come up with the intention to end the never-ending war between the Autobots and the Decepticons by uniting the two factions to start a new era of peace and unity. However, Elita-One tells her daughter that the Decepticons and the Autobots won't end their civil war peacefully so easily. But Altair says that there has to be a solution for the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons to end. Back on Earth, Optimus Prime and Megatron and their Autobot and Decepticon armada work together to fight against their common enemy, Jhiaxus.
Jhiaxus orders the Stunticons and the Combaticons to destroy the Autobots and Decepticons, but they turn against their master after combining into Menasor and Bruticus. Being outnumbered, Jhiaxus flees, allowing Megatron to become the leader of the Decepticons once again. After Jhiaxus escapes, Optimus and Megatron part ways and they return to being enemies once more. Optimus Prime and his Autobots decided to return to Detroit where they can help Sari Sumdac who is still traumatized by her father's near-death experience which put him into a coma after he was attacked by Jhiaxus. Meanwhile, on a moon in outer space, Jhiaxus discovers that he can shapeshift, disguise himself, and alter his appearance, and he comes up with an evil revenge scheme and decides to use his shapeshifting abilities to his advantage.
Chapter 48: Rise of the Tyrant
Two days after the Autobots and Decepticons united to defeat Jhiaxus, Optimus Prime and his team focused on helping Sari Sumdac while her father, Professor Sumdac, remained in a coma at the hospital. One night, Optimus Prime received a call from Elita-One, asking to meet at an abandoned building. He instructed Bumblebee, Arcee, Ironhide, Jazz, Prowl, Bulkhead, Ratchet, Sari Sumdac, Orion Eclipse, Altair Comet, Steve the Vehibot, Grimlock, and the Dinobots, and Smokescreen to stay at Sumdac Tower while he went to find Elita-One. Upon arriving at the building, Optimus Prime was ambushed by Jhiaxus, who revealed his ability to shapeshift and mimic voices. Realizing it was his nemesis, not his wife, who had summoned him, Optimus Prime attempted to reason with Jhiaxus.
However, the Decepticon remained resolute in his ways, nearly killing Optimus Prime and throwing him into the ocean from a bridge. Jhiaxus then took on the form of Optimus Prime, intending to lead the Autobots back to Cybertron under the guise of Optimus and conquer it. Red Alert arrives on Earth at Ratchet's request to serve as Sari Sumdac's nurse. Meanwhile, Jhiaxus reveals himself disguised as Optimus Prime before transforming into Sentinel Magnus. In Cybertron's throne room, Jhiaxus, taking the form of Sentinel Prime as a Magnus, confronts Ratchet, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, and Jazz, demanding their submission. The Autobots refuse to bow before a false leader, leading Jhiaxus to reveal his true form and unleash his army of brainwashed Autobot soldiers, igniting chaos and battle across Cybertron. His sinister plan includes forcing Elita-One into marriage to solidify his control over the planet.
During the clash, Jhiaxus captures Elita-One and her daughter, Altair Comet, along with several Autobots. He manipulates Elita-One with threats against her loved ones, coercing her into agreeing to marry him to save them. Meanwhile, on Earth, Optimus Prime is found severely wounded by Orion Eclipse, Sari Sumdac, and Smokescreen. They bring him back to their base, where Red Alert works tirelessly to heal him, knowing that Optimus's survival is crucial for Cybertron's liberation from Jhiaxus's tyranny. As the Autobots struggle against Jhiaxus's forces, the fate of Cybertron hangs in the balance, dependent on Optimus Prime's recovery and their resilience in the face of overwhelming darkness.
Chapter 49: The Last Stand
Sari Sumdac and Red Alert work tirelessly to heal Optimus Prime's wounds, ultimately saving his life. Once recovered, Optimus Prime returns to Cybertron, only to find the planet conquered and enslaved by Jhiaxus. Determined to liberate his world from Decepticon tyranny, Optimus frees his Autobot team and rescues his daughter, Altair Comet, before racing against time to save his wife, Elita-One, from a forced marriage to Jhiaxus. Crashing the wedding, Optimus Prime confronts Jhiaxus and the two battle fiercely for Elita-One's freedom. However, Jhiaxus knocks Optimus unconscious and kidnaps him. When Optimus awakens, he finds himself on Arachna 7, the same organic planet where Elita-One was presumed dead and transformed into Blackarachnia many stellar cycles ago.
Jhiaxus reveals his evil plan to leave Optimus to die on Arachna 7. He torments Optimus by transforming into Elita-One and Blackarachnia, reminding him of the tragic past. Tying Optimus on a rock, Jhiaxus declares that he will suffer a similar fate and become a freak like Blackarachnia. Disguising himself as Optimus Prime, Jhiaxus leaves the real Optimus to be surrounded by giant spiders. Optimus Prime, using his resolve and strength, manages to break free from his restraints and evade the giant spiders. He quickly commlinks Elita-One, urgently requesting her rescue from Arachna 7. Meanwhile, Jhiaxus, still in disguise as Optimus Prime, tries to deceive the Autobots, manipulating them with his false identity.
Elita-One, upon receiving Optimus's distress call, rushes to his location with a team of Autobots. They successfully rescued Optimus from Arachna 7 and confronted Jhiaxus together. The real Optimus Prime and Elita-One expose Jhiaxus's true nature, revealing his deceit to the Autobots. Enraged by Jhiaxus's betrayal and his crimes, the Autobots attempt to arrest him. However, Jhiaxus manages to flee, making his way back to Earth, and leaving a trail of chaos in his wake. Optimus Prime and his Autobot friends return to Earth on a mission to defeat Jhiaxus once and for all. Optimus confronts Jhiaxus and they begin their final battle. In an epic battle, Optimus Prime unleashes the power of the Matrix of Leadership and when it hits Jhiaxus, Optimus thinks that he killed him at first, but then he is shocked to discover that the Matrix of Leadership had magically turned Jhiaxus back into Sentinel Prime somehow.
Thankfully, the Matrix not only turned Jhiaxus back into Sentinel Prime, but it also gave him amnesia. After defeating Jhiaxus with the Matrix of Leadership and turning Jhiaxus back into Sentinel Prime, Optimus aims to help him recall his true identity and reform him for good. Bumblebee proposes imprisonment for Sentinel's past crimes, while Bulkhead argues he's no longer a threat. After deliberation, the Autobots return Sentinel to Cybertron. Optimus Prime pardons him before guiding his redemption, as Sentinel grapples with guilt over his actions as Jhiaxus. In the dimly lit chamber of Metroplex, Sentinel Prime confronted Optimus Prime, his voice filled with remorse as he grappled with his past actions. Sentinel expressed deep guilt over his betrayals and crimes, questioning whether he could ever be forgiven. Optimus Prime, embodying compassion, assured Sentinel of the potential for change and redemption, drawing a parallel to Elita-One's transformation from Blackarachnia.
Optimus explained that he believed in Sentinel's capacity to reform, despite his deep remorse and the severe consequences of his actions. He acknowledged Sentinel's pain and the self-doubt stemming from his fall from grace and the choices that led him away from the Autobots and into the hands of the Decepticons. Offering words of comfort, Optimus urged Sentinel to forgive himself. They emphasized that redemption might be possible, though it would require time and effort to regain trust and prove his allegiance to the Autobots again. Sentinel, moved by Optimus's forgiveness and support, expressed a desire to change and to earn back his place among the Autobots. Reassured by Optimus's outstretched hand of friendship, Sentinel felt a spark of hope for redemption and reform. Optimus's acceptance and belief in his capacity to change marked the beginning of Sentinel's journey towards self-forgiveness and reintegration into the Autobot ranks, hinting at the possibility of redemption.
SEASON 4:
Chapter 50: A Second Chance
After Sentinel Prime was no longer the evil Decepticon war criminal, Jhiaxus, he tries to regain the trust of his former Autobot friends, but they gave him the cold shoulder. Bumblebee couldn't forgive Sentinel after he crushed his voice box one time to make him mute to prevent him from telling everyone about Sentinel's treachery which left Bumblebee traumatized even after Ratchet repaired his voice box which Sentinel Prime crushed when he turned to evil by Doomsayer.
Sentinel becomes a social outcast and Optimus Prime would try to help his former enemy as Sentinel Prime struggles with his reformation. One night, Sentinel Prime was in his room when he saw his evil reflection in the mirror haunting him and reminding Sentinel that he'll never be forgiven for the crimes he committed. The next day, Sentinel Prime meets Skyfire, the esteemed explorer and scientist of the Cybertronian Council. Skyfire empathizes with Sentinel, sharing that he understands his pain and remorse, having once been a villain himself.
Sentinel laments that he will never be fit to lead Cybertron, especially now that Optimus Prime has officially succeeded the late Ultra Magnus as Magnus while still retaining the title of Prime. Skyfire reassures Sentinel, advising him to be patient and trust that forgiveness will come in time, now that Optimus has pardoned him for his crimes as Jhiaxus. Buoyed by Skyfire's words, Sentinel Prime prepares to embrace his second chance and rejoin the Autobots.
Chapter 51: The Rise of Safeguard
Sentinel Prime tries to mend his relationship with the twin brothers, Jetfire and Jetstorm, but they hesitate to trust their former ally. As Sentinel recalled, Jetfire and Jetstorm were born because the Autobot Elite Guarded intended to use the captive Starscream to help create the first flying Autobot. But the resulting twin brothers, Jetfire and Jetstorm were more than they bargained for. Sentinel then gets a flashback where in response to Decepticon uprisings on the galaxy's rim, Ultra Magnus sends a secure message to Autobot troops, urging a strong show of force to assert Autobot superiority. While he doesn't see the need to revive Project Omega, he considers unorthodox upgrades, including installing unprecedented flight protocols in Autobots, using data from the captured Decepticon Starscream. Despite skepticism from Sentinel Prime and Jazz, Magnus believes Starscream's programming holds the key.
Although Starscream escapes, Magnus successfully announces to the Autobot Council that the data download was completed. He assigned Perceptor to begin Project Safeguard, advising him to use expendable test subjects from farms and refineries instead of Elite Guard resources. A pair of refinery bots cause a catastrophic industrial accident and are sent to the Ministry of Science as "volunteers" for Perceptor's experiment. Using the split protoforms, Perceptor sees an opportunity to advance Project Safeguard despite Wheeljack's concerns about potential side effects. Over a deca-cycle, the twins undergo an upgrade process, and their reinforced structures are ready for presentation to Ultra Magnus.
Magnus assigns the newly named Jetfire and Jetstorm to Sentinel Prime for training, despite Sentinel's resentment. The twins excel in combat tests but destroy much of the training grounds, leading Magnus to suggest simulated combat. Jazz oversees their training, finding them overconfident due to their flight abilities. Perceptor proposes using Starscream's programming to upgrade the combat simulator. In the simulator, the twins easily defeat drone troops but struggle against a simulated Starscream, who brutalizes them and prepares to mutilate Jetstorm. Perceptor, alarmed by the unexpected sadism of the simulation, finds the simulator rigs arcing with electricity, preventing the Elite Guard from intervening.
Jetfire, enraged by Starscream's attack on his brother, discovers he can project flames, blasting Starscream away. This new ability endangers the facility as Jetfire's body becomes immolated in the simulator rig. His sibling, Jetstorm, manifests the ability to produce intense cold with his wind turbines, balancing Jetfire's flames. Despite their new powers, Starscream floors the twins again, prompting them to merge into a powerful gestalt form, Safeguard. In this form, they finally defeat Starscream, allowing Perceptor to end the simulation. Impressed by their capabilities, Ultra Magnus inducts the twins as junior officers in the Elite Guard and assigns them to join Sentinel Prime in the pursuit of the Autobot traitor, Waspinator.
Chapter 52: Trial and Error
Orion Eclipse helps Optimus Prime and the Autobots defeat and arrest Megatron and his Decepticons before they bring Megatron back to Cybertron to put him on trial. Sentinel Prime has a nightmare about him being haunted and tormented by his inner Decepticon, Jhiaxus. When Sentinel wakes up from his nightmare, Skyfire comforts him and he tells him that he won't become a Decepticon again. Sentinel worries that he won't be a good Autobot and he fears of becoming evil again, but Skyfire, Jetfire, and Jetstorm reassure Sentinel Prime that he won't become Jhiaxus again.
The trial at Jekka Amphitheatre begins in earnest as Team Athenia brings Megatron to court while keeping him in stasis cuffs and with a mouth clamp ala Hannibal Lecter style. Megatron confides in Optimus Prime that the Prime's moral code will ensure proper due process. Alpha Trion lists Megatron's many crimes, and when Megatron pleads innocence, Orion Eclipse loudly denounces his father, Megatron and tells the crowd that he deserves life in prison for being an abusive father. The witnesses for the prosecution, Blitzwing, Shockwave, and Lugnut zealously confirm Megatron's plans for global domination.
Even with the trial being a dead cert, Optimus introduces the only witness for the defense, Megatron himself. The Decepticon leader's proclamations of returning Cybertron to its golden age at the heart of an empire sway the audience, an audience too young to remember the horrors of the war; an audience that were disillusioned by Sentinel's restrictive leadership when Sentinel Prime was about to become Cybertron's new ruler before his downfall which led him to be corrupted by Doomsayer.
Optimus realizes too late that Megatron's plan was to radicalize this audience with a few well-chosen words, with Optimus Prime himself given a front-row seat for Megatron's final victory! With a riot about to break out, matters are complicated further by the arrival of Strika and Team Chaar! Sentinel Prime tries to redeem himself and help Optimus and the Autobots by getting the Powermaster armor, but his motor relays are disabled by Scalpel. Optimus overhears the immobilized Sentinel that this wasn't the way things were meant to go.
Megatron and his Decepticons flee and Megatron vows to get his revenge on his son, Orion Eclipse, for betraying him, but his ex-wife, Firestar says that she won't allow him near their son as long as she lives. After Megatron and the Decepticons leave Cybertron and return to their fortress of Kaon on Earth, Optimus Prime holds the Matrix of Leadership as well as the Allspark Matrix and Alpha Trion thinks about what must be done to keep the Allspark Matrix safe. Sentinel Prime is unhappy that he failed to help the Autobots and says that he'll never prove that he's reformed and Sentinel Prime starts to feel like he doesn't belong on Cybertron since no Autobot will ever accept or forgive him for the crimes he committed in the past even though Optimus Prime has pardoned Sentinel for betraying the Autobots.
Chapter 53: Dinobots and Dilemmas
Sideswipe has greatly improved since becoming an Autobot and training at the Autobot Academy. He has befriended Grimlock and the Dinobots, while Wheeljack has devised a way to create more Dinobots, believing they will be invaluable to the Autobots.
Strongarm, now a cadet after training at the Autobot Police Academy, experiences flashbacks of her old friend, Nightra. Many stellar cycles ago, Strongarm and Nightra were best friends and fellow cadets at the academy. They got into trouble together, including an incident where Dropforge caught them drag-racing in the Hall of Studies and another where they tried to arrest a Wrecker for speeding, resulting in damage to Nightra's Autobot insignia and identity signal.
Nightra's downfall came when she was caught with a keyfile for one of her exams. She tried to persuade Strongarm to take the blame, but Strongarm refused to lie under questioning by the Academy's Proctors, leading to Nightra's expulsion. Afterward, Nightra turned to a life of crime and disappeared from Strongarm's life.
In the present, Strongarm spends some time with her siblings, Ultra Violet and Plasma Storm, and their mother, Violet Star, who remains deeply saddened by the loss of her husband, Ultra Magnus. Wheeljack introduces his new Dinobots: Slag, the Stegosaurus; Sludge, the Brontosaurus; and Slash, the female Velociraptor. These Dinobots join Grimlock, Snarl, and Swoop, and together, they, along with Sideswipe, enjoy some time together. Sunstreaker and Roadbuster take responsibility for the Dinobots, while Sideswipe visits Strongarm. He shares his own experience of losing a parent, recounting how he and his twin brother, Sunstreaker, were orphaned as children before being raised by Roadbuster. Meanwhile, the Autobot Academy welcomes a new recruit, Sentry, who is eager to begin his training to become an Autobot.
Chapter 54: Turn of the Tide
Optimus Prime and the Autobots return to Earth and they find out that Megatron and his Decepticons have attacked Detroit. Sari Sumdac faces Megatron despite Bulkhead and Bumblebee warning her not to fight the Decepticon leader. Sari Sumdac fights Megatron at a destroyed city of Detroit that is now in flames. Megatron tries to convince Sari to join him so that he can help her find out about her origins, but she refuses and then Megatron throws the biggest bombshell at her, that he created her the whole time.
Megatron reveals to Sari Sumdac that she is half-Cybertronian because he created her protoform and placed it in Professor Sumdac's lab, making him her true father. Despite Sari's initial denial and anger, Megatron insists she join the Decepticons, offering her a choice: either help them defeat the Autobots or watch her friends die. After a futile struggle, Sari reluctantly accepts Megatron's offer, tearfully accepting a special key from him that transforms her into a powerful warrior. She sorrowfully acknowledges her new allegiance, apologizing to Optimus, her human father, and her friends.
Megatron gives Sari Sumdac a Decepticon key which turns her into a humanoid Decepticon warrior with red eyes and silver hair. Professor Issac Sumdac who has now recovered from his injuries he got from Jhiaxus and has finally awakened from his coma, finds out what is happening as his daughter, Sari, attacks the Autobots while she's under Megatron's control. Professor Sumdac rushes to help his daughter snap out of Megatron's control until Prowl manages to remove the Decepticon key from Sari's chest, reverting her back to normal. Sari turns against Megatron and she was about to kill him until Orion Eclipse's long-lost evil sister, Vespera intervened and she gets to become Megatron's true new heir to the Decepticon empire after joining her father's side.
Megatron and his long-lost daughter, Vespera, prepare to annihilate Optimus Prime and the Autobots. But then, Team Athenia and Rodimus Prime arrive on Earth to assist Optimus Prime, the Autobots, and the Sari Sumdac in defeating Megatron, the Decepticons and Team Chaar. Megatron quickly offers Optimus a place at his side in a new Decepticon empire, forsaking the corrupt Autobot government. Optimus tells Megatron that the Autobots will never bow to a tyrant and threatens to put Megatron down for good!
Sari and the Autobots have overpowered the Decepticons and Sari, saying that she finally knows her destiny, she imbues Powermaster Optimus and the Magnus Hammer with AllSpark energy. Optimus quips that with the power of the AllSpark and the symbol of Cybertronian leadership, he now possesses everything Megatron ever wanted — and gives it to him, severing Megatron's head!
With Megatron defeated, Vespera orders the Decepticons and Team Chaar to retreat to Kaon to have Knockout, the Decepticon medic, repair Megatron and reattach his severed head. Team Athenia and Rodimus Prime arrive on Earth to assist Optimus Prime, the Autobots, and the Centurions in defeating Megatron, the Decepticons, the Predacons, and Team Chaar. With Megatron defeated, Vespera orders the Decepticons and Team Chaar to retreat to Kaon to have Knockout, the Decepticon medic, repair Megatron and reattach his severed head.
Triumphant, our heroes celebrate the salvation of Detroit and Earth. Sari realizes her true identity and place, declaring that she belongs on Earth. She vows to continue having adventures with Optimus and the Autobots, who are not just her friends and guardians, but her family.
Chapter 55: Loose Ends
With the AllSpark returned to Cybertron, Alpha Trion explains that it must be returned to its source, the Well of All Sparks, in order to restore its ability to birth new life to Cybertron. For this mission, and for her connection to the AllSpark, he chooses Sari, to be accompanied by Bumblebee and Bulkhead. The three journey under Cybertron's surface, where Bulkhead discovers a mural relating the AllSpark's mythic origins: it rose out of the Well and breathed life into the planet.
Its container was forged by a mysterious hammer that fell out of the sky – one that would come to the symbol and weapon of the Autobot leader. This Magnus Hammer made the Autobots powerful enough that they created a universe-spanning empire.
The team are attacked by Inferno and Antagony, Blackarachnia's Predacon experiments in league with Megatron II and Airachnid! Megatron II seeks to dissect Sari and learn the secrets of organic technology so he can change Cybertron's destiny forever! Fleeing the Predacons, Sari, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead come face to face with the Well of All Spark's automated defences...the Centurion droids!
Chapter 56: The Secret Origin of Sari Sumdac
At the Well of All Sparks, Sari defends her friends from the Centurions' attack by using the AllSpark container as a shield, correctly reasoning that the Centurions would not attack something birthed from the Well. Sari, Bumblebee and Bulkhead head into the Well chamber while the Centurions hold off the Predacons. Sari drops the AllSpark into the Well.
Prowl's astral form appears, telling Sari that it's time for her reward: the answer she seeks. Prowl tells them that the AllSpark is a collective consciousness that exists across time and space, showing the three Autobots visions of their past, present and future adventures. Prowl reveals that it was the AllSpark that placed her protoform in Sumdac's lab, with the intention that Sari grew to be an avatar for its power and to bridge the worlds of human and Transformer.
Sari became the AllSpark's agent, then the conduit for its power, and as Prowl's spirit returns to his body when it's revealed that Prowl now has the power of astral projection, he tells her that it has one last job for her. The skirmish between Sari, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, the Predacons, and the Centurions erupts into the amphitheatre. Bumblebee opens up a space bridge portal which sends the Predacons back to a primitive planet where the Maximals and the Predacons live. Using the AllSpark's omnipotence, Sari makes use of the vision-granting ability demonstrated by Prowl to reveal that Doomsayer will return and he and his own minions will try to steal the Matrix of Leadership in order to summon an evil god who is a much bigger threat than Megatron: Unicron.
Chapter 57: Instruments of Destruction
Doomsayer has returned, reuniting with his Destructicon armada, known as the Inner Circle and the Cult of Unicron. He expresses his longing for their reunion, eager to collaborate on summoning Unicron to devour Earth and Cybertron. Their plan centers on finding the Matrix of Leadership, which they intend to use to summon Unicron. Meanwhile, Sentinel Prime is plagued by nightmares of his former evil self, Jhiaxus, leaving him sleepless for days. This worries Optimus Prime and the other Autobots. Sentinel confides in Optimus about his fear of reverting to a Decepticon, but Optimus reassures him that it won't happen.
Later that day, Sentinel Prime visits Skyfire, the esteemed explorer and scientist of the Cybertronian Council.
Sari Sumdac, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead warn Optimus Prime and the others about Doomsayer's plan to steal the Matrix of Leadership and summon Unicron. When Doomsayer and his Destructicons arrive at their hidden lair on Earth, they have already recruited Starscream, Slipstream, and the Seekers. Doomsayer convinced them to join the Destructicons by promising Starscream help in overthrowing Megatron, allowing him to become the new leader of the Decepticons. Though initially skeptical, Starscream reluctantly accepted the offer, and he and Slipstream joined forces with Doomsayer and his armada.
Meanwhile, Ironhide, Jazz, Ratchet, Arcee, Prowl, Bumblebee, Smokescreen, Orion Eclipse, Altair Comet, and Bulkhead are aboard Omega Supreme in his ship mode, traveling outside Cybertron with some Energon reserves. Suddenly, they are attacked by a group of evil robots: Doomsayer, Starscream, Slipstream, the Starscream clones, and the Destructicons. Doomsayer demands the Autobots reveal the location of the Matrix of Leadership. Orion confronts Doomsayer to protect his comrades. Recognizing Orion Eclipse, Doomsayer reveals he knew Orion as an infant and explains how he was once Megatron's Decepticon general before being banished for plotting to overthrow Megatron. Doomsayer then asks Orion Eclipse to join him and Starscream in killing Megatron, but Orion refuses, leading to a fierce battle inside Omega Supreme.
Doomsayer unleashes his Dark Energon lightning, damaging and poisoning Omega Supreme. Desperate, Orion Eclipse and the Autobots contact Rodimus Prime and the Elite Guard for help before Omega Supreme goes offline. Leaving the heroes and Omega Supreme to die in space, Doomsayer and his followers focus on killing Optimus Prime and seizing the Matrix of Leadership. Rodimus Prime and the Elite Guard arrived just in time to rescue Orion Eclipse and his crew. The Autobots bring Omega Supreme back to Cybertron and work tirelessly to save him from the toxic effects of Dark Energon. They manage to neutralize the poison without succumbing to its deadly energy, but Omega Supreme falls into a coma rather than dying.
Chapter 58:Â Embracing the Unexpected
While the Autobots work to ensure Omega Supreme doesn't go offline, Optimus Prime has a family reunion with his younger son, Sentry, who has joined the Autobot Academy and befriended Sideswipe and Strongarm. Bumblebee also befriends Strongarm and Sideswipe, while Optimus introduces Sentry to his long-lost mother, Elita-One. Optimus and Elita-One then have a private conversation about Sentry's origins and why Optimus never told her about him. Optimus explains that Sentry is adopted, but Sentry himself is unaware of this. Altair Comet also reunites with her younger brother, Sentry, introducing him to her boyfriend, Orion Eclipse.
Elita-One privately tells Optimus that Sentry bears a striking resemblance to Sentinel Prime, sparking her curiosity about Sentinel's potential family members beyond his deceased parents. Optimus admits he also noticed the similarity when he first adopted Sentry many stellar cycles ago. He insists that Sentry must not learn about his adoption yet, but Elita-One suggests they conduct a CNA test to discover Sentry's biological parents. Later that day, Sentinel Prime informs Optimus Prime that he is leaving Cybertron, feeling that he no longer belongs there. Despite Optimus's plea for him to stay, Sentinel insists that his departure will be better for everyone on Cybertron. After a heartfelt farewell, Sentinel Prime takes his spaceship and leaves the planet, with Optimus bidding goodbye to his former rival and friend.
Optimus Prime then heads to Metroplex for a meeting with the Autobot High Council. He discusses with Alpha Trion the potential threat posed by Doomsayer, his Destructicons, Starscream, and Slipstream. Optimus warns that if they obtain the Matrix of Leadership, they could summon Unicron, who is far more dangerous than Megatron. The return of Unicron would threaten both Cybertron and Earth, as he would devour both worlds.
Meanwhile, Sentinel Prime travels far away from Cybertron to find a new home. He enters a planet called Caminus which is a world inhabited by fembots. After arriving on that planet, Sentinel Prime enters a city where he gets cat-called by fembots while trying to find a new home for him to spend his self-exile. Sentinel Prime would be sad and lonely as he finds himself alone in the city on the planet of Caminus. Sentinel Prime sat on a worn bench, feeling the weight of his burdens. His usual stoic demeanor faltered as he struggled with his emotions. A soft voice interrupted his thoughts, asking if he was okay. It belonged to a fembot named Vanguardia, who revealed she knew of him despite never meeting him before.
When she asked why he was crying, Sentinel initially denied it but soon admitted his tears. Vanguardia listened patiently as he recounted his past regrets and sins. She understood his quest for peace and redemption and offered her help, revealing she was the Queen of Caminus who had pardoned former criminals before. Surprised by her status, Sentinel apologized, but Vanguardia reassured him. Despite his initial reluctance and desire for solitude, Vanguardia's unwavering compassion and revelation that she liked him stirred hope in Sentinel. After a moment of vulnerability, he accepted her invitation to her palace. Walking side by side, Sentinel felt his burdens lighten slightly, finding hope and the promise of redemption in the kindness of a queen.
Chapter 59:Â Youthful Ties and Villainous Plots
Optimus Prime begins to miss Sentinel Prime, prompting a flashback to their childhood. He recalls when they were young, exploring the Sacred Temple of the Thirteen Original Primes, marveling at the stained-glass windows, including one depicting his mother, Thetas Prime, holding the Matrix of Leadership. Optimus also remembers playing with Sentinel and Elita-One as children, noting the romantic feelings both he and Sentinel had for her. As they grew older, Elita-One's affection for Optimus became clear.
The flashback shifts to their teenage years, when Optimus, Sentinel, and Elita-One attended prom together. At that time, Elita was dating Sentinel, but eventually, she chose to be with Optimus as they reached adulthood. In the present, Optimus holds the Matrix of Leadership, once his late mother's, vowing to use it wisely and protect it from enemies. Meanwhile, Sentinel Prime starts a new life in the city on the planet Caminus.
Sentinel Prime wants to see Queen Vanguardia again and hopes to start a friendship with her, despite the difference in their statuses. Meanwhile, on Cybertron, Bumblebee, Smokescreen, Sideswipe, Strongarm, Orion Eclipse, and Altair Comet form a team after winning a race, and Sideswipe strengthens his friendship with Grimlock and the Dinobots. Back on Earth, in Kaon on Dinobot Island, Megatron devises an evil plan to create a clone of Optimus Prime. He orders his loyal servant, Soundwave, and the bounty hunter, Lockdown, to steal Optimus Prime's CNA, enabling Shockwave and Knockout to proceed with Project Nemesis.
Elsewhere, in Doomsayer's hidden base on Earth, Doomsayer announces his plan to build an Interdimensional Space Bridge Portal to access alternate dimensions. Although Starscream finds this idea suspicious, Doomsayer convinces him to recruit the Constructicons for the task. Starscream and his Seekers fly to the last known location of the Constructicons, gather them, and bring them back to Doomsayer's lair. There, Doomsayer and his Destructicons compel the Constructicons to begin constructing the Interdimensional Space Bridge Portal.
Chapter 60: My New Arch-Nemesis
On the planet Caminus, Sentinel Prime reconnects with Queen Vanguardia and chooses to befriend her as he gets to know her better. Sentinel Prime shares with Vanguardia the reasons behind his departure from Cybertron, revealing his past as the evil Decepticon Jhiaxus before his reformation. Vanguardia forgives Sentinel for his past actions and words, and he explains his desire to become Magnus to honor Ultra Magnus's legacy and make him proud.
Sentinel also discusses his childhood, describing how his parents were killed by the Quintessons, after which Ultra Magnus took him in. Sentinel always yearned to become the leader of the Autobots and ruler of Cybertron. He acknowledges that perhaps he was never meant to succeed Ultra Magnus as Sentinel Magnus. Now, with Optimus Prime having taken on the role of the new ruler of Cybertron and Supreme Commander of the Autobots, Sentinel must seek his true destiny. Vanguardia believes that Sentinel's journey may have brought him to her planet to discover his true purpose.
Meanwhile, on Cybertron, Optimus Prime gets his CNA stolen by Shockwave after his ferocious encounter with the bounty hunter, Lockdown, who knocked the Autobot leader unconscious and he not only stole Optimus' CNA for Project Nemesis but Lockdown also stole the Matrix of Leadership from his chest. When Optimus regained consciousness, he is shocked to discover that the Matrix has been stolen. What's even more shocking is that Optimus had also been kidnapped by Lockdown and Shockwave. They take the Autobot leader back to Kaon on Earth where Lockdown gets his reward after he and Shockwave hand the Matrix of Leadership over to Megatron. Megatron orders Knockout and Shockwave to use Optimus' CNA to create a clone of Optimus for Project Nemesis.
Knockout and Shockwave give life to Optimus Prime's evil clone which they named "Nemesis Prime" at the science lab. After Nemesis Prime is created and programmed to obey Megatron and serve the Decepticons, Optimus Prime struggles with finding his way out of Decepticon captivity. In desperation, Optimus contacts his Autobot allies to rescue him and help him get the Matrix of Leadership back. Megatron tries to use the Matrix to make himself invincible, but the Matrix of Leadership doesn't give him its ultimate power as it finds the Decepticon leader unworthy. Bumblebee gets Optimus Prime's urgent call for help and Bumblebee and the rest of the Autobots go aboard Rodimus Prime's space ship to travel back to Earth to rescue Optimus Prime. Back on Earth in Kaon, Optimus Prime tries to defend himself from his evil clone, Nemesis Prime, who attacks him and tries to terminate him for good.
Optimus Prime would try to combat Nemesis Prime, but realizes that the one bot he cannot defeat is himself as Nemesis has proven to be more powerful than Optimus. When Nemesis Prime defeats Optimus Prime, Megatron tells Optimus that it's not too late for him to join the Decepticons since Megatron and Optimus Prime were once best friends in their youth from when they were children, but Optimus refuses to become Megatron's slave and he gets beaten up by Nemesis Prime. Megatron would tell Optimus that he'll never be a good leader like his predecessor, Ultra Magnus, and that he will always lose. Optimus asks Megatron what he plans to do after he gets rid of him, but Megatron refuses to tell his archenemy his evil plans since he knows that Optimus will only tell his friends what Megatron is up to.
Chapter 61: Battlefront
Bulkhead and Bumblebee fight against Breakdown and Knockout with the help of Sideswipe, Strongarm, and Sari Sumdac and Orion Eclipse while Wheeljack, Prowl, Jazz, Ironhide, Smokescreen, Ratchet, Arcee, Cliffjumper, Steve, Rodimus Prime, Orion Eclipse, and Altair Comet all work together in rescuing Optimus Prime from the clutches of Megatron and the Decepticons. When our Autobot heroes find their way into the city of Kaon and break into Megatron's fortress, they fight a dozen Vehicon clone troopers as well as a few other Decepticons like Blitzwing, Lugnut, Soundwave, Lockdown, Rumble, Frenzy, Laserbeak, Ratbat and of course, the Decepticon leader himself—Megatron! Megatron wears the Matrix of Leadership in his chest and he introduces Nemesis Prime to our heroes while lying about Optimus Prime being killed. Enraged, Smokescreen fights Megatron to avenge Optimus Prime, but Smokescreen would be no match for Megatron before the Decepticon leader reveals to Smokescreen that he killed his parents and that he was the Decepticon leader who stole and adopted Smokescreen as a baby before the Autobots rescued Smokescreen as a child. Realizing that he's fighting against his parents' killer, Smokescreen is shocked and horrified.
Meanwhile, Sideswipe and Bumblebee fight against Knockout while Bulkhead and Strongarm fight against Breakdown. Breakdown loses his optic when Bulkhead violently strikes his archenemy in the face with his wrecking ball and Knockout gets his paint job ruined by Bumblebee which enraged him. Sideswipe tries to help Bumblebee defeat Knockout, but the Decepticon medic gets the upper hand and he zaps them both and Knockout even zaps Strongarm while Breakdown knocks Bulkhead unconscious. Sari Sumdac risks her own life to save her Autobot friends from the Decepticon duo and she unleashes her powers to fight off Breakdown and Knockout. Back in the fortress of Kaon, Lugnut tries to kill Steve for betraying the Decepticons and Steve says that he's no longer a Vehicon clone trooper but rather a Vehibot who will risk his own life to protect the Autobots. Optimus Prime regains consciousness and he sees his Autobot friends and family fighting against the Decepticons. Optimus, despite being injured, struggles to save his friends and family but gets caught by his evil clone, Nemesis Prime. Orion Eclipse intervenes and he fights Nemesis Prime to save Optimus Prime.
Rodimus Prime finds Smokescreen fighting against Megatron and he decides to help the young Autobot. Smokescreen failed to defeat Megatron to avenge the deaths of his parents and just when Megatron was about to deliver the final blow, Rodimus gets the Matrix of Leadership out of Megatron's chest and the Matrix finds Rodimus Prime worthy to wield its power due to his spark being pure. Rodimus Prime attempted to use the power of the Matrix of Leadership to save Smokescreen and kill Megatron once and for all, but he is suddenly stopped by Megatron's daughter, Vespera. Just when all hope seems lost, Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet have found a way to set the entire city of Kaon to self-destruct. Vespera fights her brother, Orion Eclipse, and she calls him a traitor to their father, Megatron, but Orion tells his sister that their father must be stopped no matter the cost. The Autobots and the Decepticons evacuate the city of Kaon before it explodes and the Autobots take Optimus Prime back to Cybertron to mend his wounds. Megatron and his Decepticon army have escaped, but have lost Nemesis Prime. But just when it seems like a happy ending for our heroes, little do our heroes and villains know is that Optimus Prime's evil clone still lives and has survived under the rubble of the destroyed city of Kaon.
