She is shocked when she is lifted so easily into his lap. Eyes widening and face turning redder than her hair. "Ahem, sorry, a pesky, persistent fly is hovering around me. As you can see, everything is accounted for in this report. Mhm, I'll be sure to be on standby, when another assignment comes my way." Getting ready to get up to go to the next room.

He  was  trying  so  hard  not  to  laugh,  just  kept  a  smile  on  his  face.  Listening  to  her  talk.  The  man's  idea  of  annoying  her  was  fun,  until  she  was  able  to  grab  his  hand  and  pull  it  off.  Seeing  the  glare,  he  couldn't  help  but  roll  off  of  her  lap  for  a  second,  and  picked  her  up  and  placed  her  onto  his.  No  words,  just  a  smirk,  and  motivation  to  be  annoying.

He was lucky he was heavier than her or she would have pushed him off. "Alright, I'm going to send over the--" Topaz stops, blushing as she glares back down at him. Using her shoulder to hold her phone to her ear, "The contract and the payment they made towards their debt." While speaking again, she takes his hands in hers before pulling them off of her. "The updated payment information is also on the third page for their future payments as well." She gives him another glare.

The  male  couldn't  help  but  grin  while  he  was  staring  up.  Seeing  how  she  was  so  into  the  phone  call  she  was  taking,  he  wanted  to  mess  with  her.  He  knew  who  she  was  speaking  to;  it  doesn't  matter  to  him,  he  wanted  to  see  how  much  she  would  be  annoyed  if  he  started  to  annoy  her.  He  kept  quiet  for  a  moment  as  he  moved  his  hands  onto  her  leg  and  slowly  moved  them  up  to  her  side.  He  knew  for  sure,  he  was  about  to  get  slapped.

"No, no, I'm alright, keep going." She glares down at him, 'oof'ing when he landed on her and Jade and Opal are on the other line asking if she's listening to the summary of her trip. "The planet paid off their debt, and signed the agreement." Opening her screens to continue working, while also letting Aventurine lay on her.

PROMPTS FOR ORDINARY THINGS THAT FEEL INTIMATE

Xiangli Yao had been working on a very special project in between his actual research. The mind's amazing ability of multitasking. While doing his research he can quite easily build something important. He left the building ready to give the small project to it's new owner.

"Rover, I hope you're enjoying some relaxation before heading for your next trip." He gladly accepts her company, walking with her in a specific direction. Before that she wipes something off his face, probably grease oil, and he lets a chuckle escape at nearly being seen in it. "Thank you, Rover." When asked what was in the box, Yao smiles with a secret, "You'll have to wait and see. It's just a little side project I took on."

Before they know it, the two made it to the city hospital, giving a name and asking if they're available for guests. The attendant nods and gives the two permission. Xiangli Yao opens the door with a couple of knocks and the small child excitedly called out his name, the brunet chuckling, "You look like you're feeling better."

The child nods and talks about a bunch of stuff, their doctors and their parents getting lunch for her. "Well, this is my friend, Rover. I have a gift for you." He holds the box out with a smile, watching her gasp with excitement, opening the box only for her to pull out the small robotic dog. "I know you said you wanted a dog, but your mother was allergic, right? Now you have one." He begins explaining the ways to take care of it, and even gives her a card to give to her parents if the little robot needs repairs.

Once the doctors came around for the next session, Xiangli Yao smiles down at the small girl, "You now have some company when your parents have to run errands. Take care of yourself, alright?" The little girl nodded, giving him a hug, before the two walk out. He turns to her with a smile walking out with her, now ready to take on his newest research. @kycmu

Mualani managed to convince the Traveler to take her to some place fun! She didn't expect the fun festival happening in Mondstadt. Windblume, Paimon called it. Though it was much more chillier than Natlan, obviously. She hears music, it making her heart hurrying over with excitement to hear this nation's music.

A bard, huh? She taps her foot in tune and she smiles, before going over with her maracas. Mualani only shakes them lightly, only to accentuate the lyre he's playing.

Giving him a friendly smile, catching his tune easily, ready to tell Kachina that they really do have bards over in Mondstadt. When his performance finishes, she was going to hurry over to Traveler and Paimon, before hearing his words.

Mualani was quite excited when the Traveler brought along a Liyue friend. She got them into the hot springs, introduced him to everyone, and now they were playing a game of volleyball. She waved him in to be on her team.

"Hehe, it's okay, it's really easy, I promise. Look, all you have to do is keep that ball from hitting the sand. But you have to be vocal if you're going to go for it so you and your teammate doesn't get hurt." She then motions to the man in the middle, "Kaleo here is our libero. He will go for the hardest saves that sneak past the middle blockers."

She pats Xingqiu's shoulder in reassurance, "Plus, you've got me on your team too, not to brag~" The other side is hollering, the friendly competitiveness in the air has everyone ready. @gggno

Xiao does not really sleep, the most he'd allow is resting, he can never let his guard down enough to sleep. He'd just finished defeating a corrupt horde of monsters and he didn't sense anymore right now. Ears perked to the sound of another, looking over up to see the friend of that young exorcist.

Expression straight and aloof, but he wonders what brought the kid to him, after all he tries hard to stay away from humans.

"You think I sleep? You have no respect for the ways of the adepti." Xiao stands from his sat position, arms crossing as he stared at the other. "What do you need?" Or he may just disappear in his puff of adeptal energy. @gggno

"Still no respect for the adepti, I see." He only says lightly, but he doesn't stop her ruffling of his locks. It seems to make her happy doing ridiculous things like that. That Harbinger will be the first, and only, time Xiao will gladly take the life of a human. While that Harbinger is a product of war and is a weapon to his Tsaritsa; Xiao has a millennia of ruthless years over that man.

"You don't have to at the smallest sign of danger that you can handle. But if you're cornered, protecting you also calms me." Xiao's witnessed her prowess and is always immensely impressed by it and can say without a doubt she can take on all of Teyvat if she tried.

"Fun and relaxing?" Xiao doesn't really know how to do fun... Lay out in the fields of Liyue and let the sun warm him. Fighting is also what he knows how to do. Unless he watches some humans from high up to get ideas. "I'll do my best then."

"...You're such a worrywart at times, you know that?" She notes, followed by a soft chuckle as her free hand moves up to gently ruffle his dark teal locks. "It's cute, but it also makes me feel a little guilty. I don't want to cause you distress...Neither do I wish to treat you as but a mere weapon to rely on whenever I am in danger. I already have my own blade for that."

Lumine appreciated the sentiment - of course - but she truly wishes he would value himself more as an individual rather than a tool to summon in case of an emergency.

"When I'm back, we can do something fun and relaxing together, okay? I'll let you decide what exactly, so you can use the time that I'm away to think about it."

Xiao doesn't like that Harbinger, a human who reeks of the Abyss, eyes that have no respect for human life... Only benefits of war and battle... But like he said, he trusts her and Xiao can only hum in contemplation with the idea of her going anywhere with that man. He will never forget his threat to Liyue and it's people.

But he'll drop the issue, he'll trust her judgment as far as being able to take him on if he tries anything. Xiao only has one request, one that he's told her many o' times, but this time was important for him to be at peace. "Remember, call my name if you need me. I can deal the final blow for you if you can't." Xiao takes her hand in his and stares in her eyes, hoping she'd keep this promise. @luxiingzhe

It really wasn't hard to accept her back into his life, she's the first person in his long life that held such a huge part of his heart. It wasn't going to go away. Even after a whole other millennia of years of life passes by him, he'd still have this love for her. Plus, how could he fight her to stay when her goal was always to find her brother when they met. She succeeded and was ready to leave with him...

That hurt a lot more than all the years of torture the Evil God inflicted on him.

"Then I accept you both."

Xiao looks over to Xinyue and listens to her reaffirming her love for her mother in this moment of vulnerability. He stands at his full height and picks Xinyue up from under her arms. Placing the tot onto Lumine's lap, perhaps words were not helping in reassuring her. He looks down to Xinyue and speaks gently, "Hug your mother. I think she needs a good strong one that only a strong young adeptus can deliver."

Perhaps Lumine needed a little reminder of how much her daughter loved her, that this little blessing was the result of their love. Proof that he was more than Liyue's weapon of war.

Not once did the Traveler blame him for how he treated her upon their return - as she only found it normal for him to be wary and hostile after she had already left him once. In fact, she considered herself to be incredibly lucky and blessed that he was even willing to consider accepting her back into his life.

"Of course...But you are not the one who should be asking that, I am." She regretted leaving in the first place pretty quickly, but back then she was blinded by the joy of finally being reunited with her Brother. The blonde had obviously missed him and their journeys. However, it just did not feel the same. Pretty soon she came to the realization that Teyvat had changed her and her outlook on life.

"But I promise that I'll do better this time. Both as a lover...and a mother."

Xinyue was everything to her. From the moment she first held the little girl in her arms, she promised to protect her from any harm. However, the older she became, the more she began to resemble her dad, which only made the feelings of regret and guilt grow stronger.

"...But Mama is a good mama already! You always made almond tofu when I felt sad...And when I got a boo-boo from falling, you kissed away the pain...When I got a high fever, you stayed by my side the whole time too."

"Xinyue..."

Honestly, she was surprised her daughter remembered all those events so clearly, given she was still young.

Xiao doesn't look away, even with Xinyue beckoning her mother to join them. That he feels like he can read her still, can see the struggle she's holding onto. Her hand in his brought a bit of nostalgia for the yaksha, remembering how such a small hand can take on all of Teyvat. If Rex Lapis had not been here, watching over him, Xiao was sure he'd have fought so much that he'd die just from his karmic debt taking over.

His jaw slacked slightly with the apology, his eyes watching her wallow in the guilt she insists on keeping to herself and finally revealing it. Zhongli's words coming back to him, 'She has come back, isn't that a good thing? Handle it or you may as well lose her again and you won't lose just her this time. You'll lose her and Xinyue as well.'

Xinyue's small please snapped him out of the memory. Standing from his seat, he inches a bit closer before kneeling in front of her. Gloved hands taking either sides of her face, lifting Lumine's face to look her in the eyes. "I was no better." He wipes a stray tear with his thumb, shaking his head, "I'm sorry for treating you like a mere stranger when you returned."

He lets go of her face to take both of her hands in his, lacing his fingers with her. "I didn't attempt to convince you to stay, yet I still got hurt and angry. I'm sorry as well, Lumine... But, you're back and I should be cherishing your return properly." Xiao doesn't want to see Lumine or Xinyue cry, and he can't fight himself for making them cry.

"Will you allow me back into both of your lives?"

The Traveler looked down at his extended hand - visibly hesitating. She was not ignorant to the pain and suffering she brought upon him by leaving Teyvat several years ago. Not to mention robbing him of being there to witness the birth of his daughter. Even Xinyue must have missed having a father in her life as a toddler. She got plenty of love from the uncle and auntie, but it did not take long for her to start asking questions about who her dad is and where he had gone off to.

"Mama! Come join us!"

Her daughter's energetic voice pulled her back to reality. She looked so happy now, her eyes full of light and a bright smile spread from cheek to cheek.

"..."

Quietly stepping forward, she allowed herself to take the male's hand before taking a seat on the empty chair.

"I..." Her voice shook, head hanging down with most of her expression hidden behind a layer of thick bangs. "I'm sorry...to both of you...I handled everything so poorly and as a result, both of you were hurt."

If she had the power to turn back time and do things differently, she definitely would. Unfortunately, that was not an option. The past cannot be undone.

Seeing her own mother in tears obviously was not the kind of sight Xinyue liked to see, so she quickly moved from the father's lap to go and comfort her.

"Don't cry, Mama...If you cry, I'm going to cry too..."
